Virginia Weighs Deploying National
Guard to Enforce New Anti-Gun
Laws. Things Could Get Ugly.

When Michael Bloomberg flooded Virginia state legislative contests with his anti-gun groups' cash he got a quid pro quo from victorious Democrats: a near ban of AR-15s and a promise of more anti-gun laws. Now, to make room for all the felons who are predicted to be arrested by cops and the Virginia National Guard, whom the governor has been urged to deploy, Democrats are demanding more money for prison space and law enforcement. Taking guns and making you pay for it is the ultimate gut punch. Law Enforcement Today reports that a $250,000 increase in taxes would enforce these areas: Allow the removal of firearms

"Law Enforcement Today reports that a $250,000 increase in taxes " Is that a tax increase per person? I'm sure the voters realize that the lawless leftists will be using their tax dollars to illegally take away their rights, right? This is absolutely shocking: "Now, to make room for all the felons {citizens who have a constitutional right to bear arms and who obtained their weapons legally} who are predicted to be arrested by cops and the Virginia National Guard, whom the governor has been urged to deploy, Democrats are demanding more money for prison space and law enforcement."

Hey Virginia, this is what happens when you don't take your elections serious and stay home instead of getting out the vote. Also, who ever is the GOP Virginia representative should be fired for not running republicans against all those democrats for local offices. This is what happens when you don't participate. Sorry, but you Virginians own this one.

As an old saying goes, it’s too late to pray when the devil comes. Sad to think that this all could have been avoided just by getting off your duffs and going to the polls. I think the country is learning just how fragile our Republic is. It takes a great deal of responsibility to preserve and defend it and many people have become complacent. Democrats are never complacent. They are always pushing forward which means we cannot become apathetic. Two things to remember. Never vote for a democrat and always go cast your vote. While it is easy to chastise Virginians, what is happening there should be a warning to us all. Democrats are very serious about attacking our Second Amendment rights. All it takes is one opportunity and they will seize it like they are doing in Virginia. If they are successful there, it will spread into every blue state.

I lived in Virginia for 24 years and loved the state, but moved to very red South Carolina 2 years ago. Looks like hubby and I got out just in time. But our daughter and her family still live there and they own guns. A lot of Virginia is still very rural and very conservative. I don’t think those areas are going to sit quietly and allow this to happen. Agree with #5.

Does the blackface minstrel dictator want to instigate another Battle of Athens (TN, 1946)? Like poster #12, I too formerly lived in Northern Virginia for, for 29 years, before moving to NC. We lived in Loudoun County, the wealthiest county in the U.S. I loved living there, but don't miss the traffic. The median home price is now $500,000, and the real estate taxes are 3 times what they are where we now live. I do miss Wegmans, though. But I saw the county change. Northern Virginia controls the entire state. Lots of foreigners (and illegals and gangs) and mosques. (We lived five minutes from a mosque, whose imam was a frequent visitor to the Obama WH.)

Until this gets to SCOTUS, PDJT should nationalize Virginia's National Guard. The County Sheriffs have already stated they will not enforce this unconstitutional legislation, and local and state police are probably of the same opinion. "Could get ugly?" The militias in Virginia are already forming and openly recruiting. The National Guard will not readily fire upon their neighbors but if some trigger-happy amateurs start something there will be a lot of bloodshed. Virginians are in for a great awakening if they let their democrats loose on the citizens. There is not one Constitutional law in that list. Fairfax County needs to have a state of their own and everybody will be happy.

The use for the estimated $250,000 is very murky. Government can't buy paper clips for under a few mil. When this goes badly, and it will, Northam will have to sell War Bonds to pay for enforcement. Maybe even print his own currency. Like Confederate dollars: it's been done before.

Governor Coonman's master plan is to make possessing an AR 15 or AK 47 a felony. If you refuse to yield it and are convicted of a felony then you can't illegally possess any kind of firearm. Next will be internal combustion engines and anything powered by fossil fuels. Eventually you'll have to live in the woods like a squirrel. First Virginia then all of the USA.

If we have to use the National Guard to enforce the law against sanctuary policies, it should be to enforce our immigration laws and protect our borders. That, after all, is why we have a military. So, according to the leftists, they can pass sanctuary laws and shield criminal aliens, but we can't pass sanctuary laws to protect a Constitutional right? They are forcing a showdown, and people are going to have to decide which side they stand on.

George Lopez doubled down Sunday on the bounty Iran has put on President Trump — for half. The comedian replied to another Instagram user’s post Sunday that Iran had offered $80 million to any person who assassinated Mr. Trump’s “during the televised funeral of General #QasemSoleimani after he was assassinated last week.” Mr. Lopez replied: “We’ll do it for half.” As of 10:40 p.m. Sunday had received almost 350 replies and nearly 1,200 “like” reactions. Some of the reaction was outrage though. “@SecretService should take a look at this. The Left is sick,” Ryan Fournier, founder and co-chairman of Students for Trump, wrote on Twitter.

In the four decades since the 1979 Iranian Revolution, few Iranian leaders have achieved the global profile attained by Maj. Gen. Qassim Suleimani, the military commander killed in an American airstrike on Thursday. After the 2003 invasion of Iraq, Suleimani emerged as the United States’s most capable adversary in that country. His American counterpart at a key point during the occupation, Gen. David Petraeus, described Suleimani as “a truly evil figure” in a letter to Robert Gates, then the U.S. defense secretary. Over the years, Suleimani gained a reputation as a fearsome military leader who controlled a network of ideologically driven militia proxies across the Middle East.

If you think there’s grumbling about the Democratic debate stage being all white except for Yang right now, just wait. The American drone strike that killed Iranian General Qassem Soleimani has severely shocked the Tehran regime. President Trump and the Iranians are exchanging taunts and threats of military action. Soleimani’s death at American hands has shaken the ayatollahs’ regime to its core. Never before, in its forty years of conducting global terrorism and regional aggression, has a member of the regime’s inner circle been killed. As commander of the terrorist “Quds Force” (part of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps, which is also designated a “foreign terrorist organization”) Soleimani ranked just below the ayatollahs themselves. The fact that his death was caused by the “Great Satan” — us —

Supporters of Joe Biden are unlikely to be persuaded by most of the common criticisms. They know he can be rambling and unintelligible. They know his record is unimpressive and that he doesn’t really have “policy proposals”. None of this matters, though, because to them he has the most important quality of all: he can beat Donald Trump. Nothing you can say about the former vice-president’s record, platform or mental state matters next to the argument that he is the best hope Democrats have of getting Trump out of office.

Trump’s red line against the Iranian regime harming Americans was very real, and Qasem Soleimani is dead. The U.S. killed the Iranian terror-master at the Baghdad airport where he reportedly had just arrived from Syria. The head of the Revolutionary Guard’s elite Quds Force, Soleimani was the instrument of Iranian imperialism around the region, building up proxy forces, overseeing operations, and executing a geopolitical vision. He existed at the very center of the Iranian regime and was uniquely skilled at his role, honed over decades of ruthlessness and cunning. He was also a cold-blooded killer of Americans, responsible for the deaths of hundreds of our servicemen during the Iraq war.

The calendar turns and a decade begins, but there is nothing new under the sun in Washington. Even the killing of an Iranian mass murderer is cause for more partisan strife. Yet Democrats apparently outsourced their reactions to robots, whose script called for conceding that the departed was a very bad man, but prohibited approval of President Trump’s decision to take him out.

For decades, land-use regulation across the U.S. has emphasized single-family houses on large lots. This approach has priced many people out of the quintessential American dream: home ownership. It also has promoted suburban sprawl — a pattern of low-density, car-dependent development that has dominated growth at the edges of urban areas since the end of World War II. Now, however, Americans may be starting to question the desirability of a private house. In the past year, the Minneapolis City Council and the state of Oregon have voted to allow duplexes and other types of multi-unit housing in neighborhoods where currently only single-family homes currently are allowed.

When the news broke about the death of Qassem Soleimani in an American airstrike, it was inevitable that the Democrats and the media would denounce the action and once again declare President Trump unfit for office. More surprising was the opprobrium heaped on the raid and its underlying rationale by Tucker Carlson. The Fox News host is usually fairly sensible, if given to the hyperbole and simulated indignation required by the talking head genre. Moreover, he tends to be supportive of the President and his policies. Carlson’s response to the Soleimani killing, however, was uninformed, uncharacteristically hostile to Trump, and generally unhinged.

I know, I know. The homeless smell bad sometimes. They look scary, with layers of clothing and dirty hands. They litter our streets with cardboard boxes, fast-food wrappers and empty bottles. They sleep on sidewalks or in tents under bridges, testing sanitation limits. It sounds pretty awful, I admit. This is the picture you and I see in our cities and towns. It makes us want to turn away and escape to our tidy houses. It makes us angry, too. Most of us work or worked when we were younger. Most of us portion out our paychecks for housing, food, clothing and occasional recreation.

The assassination of Iranian general Qassem Soleimani is an unusual, possibly aberrant, event. The killing of this individual leader of a sovereign state may lead to all-out war between Iran and the U.S. — or, on the other hand, the assassination may bring an end to the cycle of Iranian violence countered by U.S. and world diplomatic flatulence and appeasement. (snip) the Iranians have been in an undeclared war with the U.S. since the ayatollahs and their religiously inspired and power-mad henchmen took over the reins of government from the despotic but pro-American Shah in the seventies.
