Two Democrat lawmakers from Virginia are calling for the state’s statue of Confederate General Robert E. Lee to be removed from the US Capitol. Reps. Jennifer Wexton and A. Donald McEachin have asked that the state’s Democrat Governor Ralph Northam, who was photographed wearing blackface and got a free pass, make removing the statue a priority in 2020.“These statutes aimed to rewrite Lee’s reputation from that of a cruel slave owner and Confederate General to portraying him as a kind man and reluctant war hero

NO way. Lee, America's greatest general should be honor for his accomplishments and not punished
for supporting his home state of Virginia!

Where to begin? Islam also erases the history of the cultures it conquers. And where is the evidence that Gen. Lee was "cruel" to his slaves? Perhaps he was, maybe he wasn't. This doesn't justify slavery. But the Democrats are seeking to remake American culture, because they hate it.

Lee had no slaves at the time of the war. He had inherited some but freed them.
Know a little about the history you wish to obliterate, you ignorant haters.

This Wexton broad is my congresswoman. She’s one strange mutha, almost as strange as Governor Gosnell, aka, coonman. She flies the lgbtqeeiieeiio freak flag instead of the American flag.

Based on the actions of the socialist politicians and their constituents representing the Northeastern states and California, we may have an opportunity to fight the War between the States again; however, this time the result will be different. So, save the statues of General Robert E. Lee, General Thomas "Stonewall" Jackson, President Jefferson Davis, President George Washington, President Thomas Jefferson, etc., they will go up again!

In the years following the civil war, Robert E. Lee was held in high esteem by the North as well as the South. He was admired by several presidents and is still admired by many Americans and Europeans.

Contrary to what Wexton and McEachin wrote to Governor Northam, it is not the statue that rewrites Lee's reputation, but the statute seeking to remove the statue that attempts to rewrite Lee's reputation.
I'm not pushing for us to retaliate against the Left's Talibanesque efforts to rewrite the history books to agree with their political doctrines. But we must reject the idea at its foundation, repudiate their new version of history everywhere we encounter it, and resist the tendency to get worn out by having to repeat the rebuttals.

If not for the gentlemanly surrender arranged between Generals Grant and Lee, we would still be fighting to put down the guerilla insurrection in the South. The armies of the south were allowed to disband and return to their homes without retribution.
There is nothing more tiresome and annoying than politicians who don't even know their own history.

And after that, dump the contents of General Robert E. Lee’s study at Arlington House out into the yard and use the space to sell rainbow t-shirts and unicorn toys. Gotta make things right.

Pure EVIL!
Gen. Robert E. Lee was THE most honorable of men in America at the time. Not one of those calling for the abolition of his history to his beloved State of Virginia would be worthy to polish his boots, while he was alive.
General Lee never wore a Confederate Army Uniform. He wore the uniform of the grey of the Army of Northern Virginia throughout the war.

Re #7. He was admired even by opposing Union troops. After one battle Lee was making his way past a group of about 100 captured US soldiers. As he passed by they all stood and saluted him out of respect. A great soldier and one of the most admired by men on both sides. Respect is not something people on the left know anything about. They are liars and fools and completely ignorant of historical facts.

This breaks my heart. They weren't just soldiers, they were family members. Do they know how many people in VA have Lee in their name ? A pox on you both.
Take down every MLK statue too to be fair.

These fools do not know, nor do they care, that as it became evident that the southern states were going to secede, General Lee was asked to lead the Union army. Lee had a heart-rending, difficult decision, and finally decided that he could not fight against Virginia that his ancestors had such a hand in leading, and so, out of DUTY, he stayed with Virginia.
No, these nasty ignorant fools want to remake the USA in the image of their idea of normalcy.... SOMALIA!
