Treasury Department Assistant Secretary of Public Affairs Monica Crowley has been vindicated by Columbia University after a years-long investigation ultimately concluded she did not plagiarize her thesis, despite allegations by CNN and other establishment media outlets that she did.
Crowley, now the Treasury Department’s top spokeswoman but previously a Fox News contributor, had been under consideration to join the National Security Council (NSC) in the White House at the very beginning of President Donald Trump’s administration under his first national security adviser, retired Gen. Mike Flynn. Then, allegations from CNN and Politico, among other publications, claimed that she plagiarized her 2012 book and her thesis at Columbia, sparking Columbia to launch

Where does she go to get her reputation back? Meanwhile, this will be a three-line article on page 18 of the NYT. Below the fold.

Very clever, CNN. Delete 40 footnotes from Ms. Crowley's thesis and then air charges that she did not sufficiently cite her source material. Knowing that Columbia would have to investigate and that such investigations take a long time (years, in this case), CNN knee-capped Ms. Crowley and prevented her from serving in the Trump Administration. Well done, Resistance Fighters (masquerading as journalists).

Nixon in Winter ultimately put a freeze on Ms. Crowley.
In the end these people will not win, although the instigators will have moved on. Probably to Rep. Schiff's staff.

Kate Turabian was the secretary to the Dean of the Graduate School at the University of Chicago. After being dismayed by various styles being used to write doctoral dissertations at that university, Kate wrote a style manual for dissertations, which I used in writing mine, back in the 1970s.
My dissertation is tightly written, properly cited, readable, and the footnotes are properly listed.. (I joked that I 'slept with Kate Turabian every night' during that time period.)
Then along came the American Psychological Association, and their style manual, required for submission to their journal. They specifically wrote that the style was not appropriate for dissertations. Yet many universities specified APA, whatever the latest edition is, for doctoral dissertations.
APA style makes writing, and reading a dissertation extremely difficult. End notes are almost random in nature, sloppy, vague.
I suspect Monica Crowley had to use APA.

From her Wikipedia page:
Andrew Kaczynski, the CNN reporter who first reported instances of plagiarism in Crowley's book, called her claims of innocence false and "complete BS," stating: "No one has yet to point out a single inaccuracy in our reporting or asked for a correction on it. Monica Crowley v. reality."
I wonder if Andy boy will offer up an apology? waiting...waiting...waiting...

Great! Now maybe Columbia can focus their sleuthing on " Dreams Of A Guy Not Even Related To My Father" and find out who wrote that.
