During Friday’s “New Day” on CNN, 2020 Democratic presidential candidate Sen. Cory Booker (D-NJ) discussed a new CNN poll that shows the United States economy’s highest rating in almost 20 years. Booker said the economy is “overall good” but Americans are “not measuring their well-being” based on the GDP or stock market.“Right now, all Americans know that we’re doing nothing on health care costs, prescription drug costs,” Booker told host John Berman. “We know that we have a tax system that’s way, weighted in the hands of the wealthiest

FTA: Right now, all Americans know that we’re doing nothing on health care costs, prescription drug costs,” Booker told host John Berman
That's right, Americans KNOW Democrats are not doing anything on health care cost and prescription drug costs, but they do know Trump has been doing things about them.
We also know that a portion of Obamacare has been declared unconstitutional, and based on the severability clause, the whole bill needs to be scrapped.
We know that the Democrats agreed to removing the jobs killing medical device tax, so they could cancel the "Cadillac tax" on many union health care plans.

Yeah right. Most people measure their well being by how easy it is to get their teenage soss into the girls' locker room. You Dems keep working on that.

I don't like people that tell me what Americans think. If you think this way, Mr. Booker, then say Booker, not Americans. Thank you for making this correction. You sorely need a lot more.

I'm retired and I watch my portfolio every day. Polititians measure their well being by how much taxpayer money they can steal.

Booker thinks only the 'elite' like him can understand when an economy is doing well. "Americans" understand very well when they have more money in their pocket and are working and not unemployed. It's Booker who chooses not to understand.

Most Americans measure the economy by fairly simple standards; Can I afford to buy and maintain a car? Can I afford the insurance and gas to operate it? Can I afford groceries? Can I afford to run the air conditioner in the summer and the heater in the winter? Can I afford the mortgage on my house and the property taxes and home owners insurance? Can I afford health insurance? Can I afford tennis shoes and jeans for my children? Will I ever be able to retire? If I really hate my job can I find a better one or will I be stuck where I work now? Will I have anything left over for an occasional vacation, or to pay for my daughter's wedding? Will I be able to leave anything to my children when I die?

My little nest egg in the stock market just grew by $10,000 in the past two weeks but he's right, I don't measure my well-being with it. It was a helluva Christmas present though.

I measure my well being by my "level of happiness, confidence in the near future, and confidence in the far future" Got to tell you Cory that $2 gasoline and jobs for my kids goes a HELL of a lot further than your BS.

It's true we don't base our well being on the stock market. But a great many in the MSM do. They claimed the Obama economy was great because the market was being propped up with quantitative easing. The rest of us on the ground could see the only measure of the economy that was doing good was the market and the jobs were still going away. Obama was telling us to get used to it because they aren't ever coming back. When Obama said "get used to the new normal" he was saying get used to being poor.
