The evangelical magazine founded by the Rev. Billy Graham called President Trump's phone call to the Ukrainian president "profoundly immoral" and called for him to be removed from office. Claiming they prefer "to stay above the fray and allow Christians with different political convictions to make their arguments in the public square," editor-in-chief Mark Galli asserted in a Thursday editorial that the moral turpitude of Trump requires the publication to support his removal. Appealing to Graham's legacy of expressing political opinions in "conviction and love," Christianity Today wrote that while they "love and pray for our president," the case against

How disappointing.... Especially since each of the diplomatic "witnesses" at the House committee inquiry said that the President did nothing criminal or illegal in the phone call to Zelinsky.

Did Galli read the transcript of the phone call, or did he just listen to the Schiff rendition of the call?

Apparently you don't have to be very bright to be a magazine editor. If you read the transcript its abundantly clear that the concern was with the efforts of the new Ukrainian president to get a handle on rampant corruption in his country. The President was aware of the evidence that Giuliani had been passed by concerned Ukrainians two years earlier. This was before he was the President's lawyer and before Joe Biden had declared his candidacy.
It is Trump's duty to help expose Ukrainian corruption once Zelensky replaced his corrupt predecessor Poroshenko and make sure that our aid is not thrown down the same sewer. This isn't hard to understand if you are not blinded by TDS.

This is so profoundly, uh.... uninformed from that which they profess. By no means do I equate Trump to Christ, but.... What did the rulers think of Christ? They mocked him, they tried to make him suffer. Yet, did the Pharisees succeed? The point is, change necessarily creates what we see right now. It is the most clear example of the truth (not perfection) that stands behind Trump. This is the closest thing to prophetic that I've ever seen in my life.

I wish I was a subscriber to this magazine so I could cancel my subscription. They probably also think the Bible is a living document and has to be adapted to today's culture.

This editorial says very little about Trump, but a lot about the rapid decline of this magazine into partisan support for ultra-liberal causes.

Christianity Today was started in 1956 by Billy Graham. Current circulation of 130,000. 30,000 free. Estimated readership 240,000.
Trump draws more to a rally in a small town. Stick with spreading the Gospel. Let God sort out who's moral or not.

This editor must be getting subscriptions from the failed Weekly Standard crowd.
As a born again, Evangelical, I am offended. You know, others have espoused these high moralistic cliches. Yet, they offer no one else as an alternative. And unless I live in a cave (I don’t), there is NO one (NO ONE) in public life who has done as much for faith, Christians, and babies.
So unless they have someone in a secret cubbiy, waiting to save the day, they need to get on board, support this President through prayer, and pray no Dem/Communist is elected.

Well they are siding with true evil. Either they are profoundly stupid, a liar, lazy or evil himself. What else can you be to cheer for overt corrupt money laundering of taxpayer dollars using Ukrainian thugs? If you know Mark Galli how do you not say something to challenge this immoral, evil, statement?

Apparently, Christianity Today does not speak for the millions of Evangelical Christians who daily pray that President Trump will successfully resist the current coup-d-etat-in-progress.
I'm not a subscriber to their magazine, but since they've got a clear case of TDS, from now on, I'll do my best to avoid it altogether.

Where does the part about him supporting Israel factor in. God didn’t put character qualifications on his promise to Abraham that He would bless those that bless Israel. The President has definitely supported Israel.

Looks like almost all of the major churches have been taken over by leftists and/or LGBTQLSMFT activists. Very sad, even for those of us who may not actively belong to one of them but who appreciate the good they have done in promoting principled living.

Next they'll be advocating for late term abortion and communism. Or maybe they already do? Actually, by wishing Trump out of office, that's exactly what they're advocating for. Hypocrites! White washed graves!

Mark Galli is profoundly moronic and very likely suffering from dementia. (There's far more evidence for those assertions than there is for the immorality of the President's phone call to the Ukrainian leader. I hope Galli is ready for the avalanche of negative mail he's about to receive, not to mention the fierce admonitions he'll get from fellow pastors.)

Franklin Graham just condemned this article on Facebook, said his Father had supported Trump , said the magazine is run by liberals & said the far left is using the magazine as a propaganda tool. The Graham’s have always been big supporters of Trump. Washington Examiner should have interviewed Franklin Graham!!

Time to take the first name off this liberal publication. Look no further than this outrageous pronouncement for proof that the left will destroy anything it touches. It’s core philosophy is antithetical to Biblical truth and anyone who aligns themselves with it, could in no way be considered Christian. The words offered by this leftist publication are a reminder of the warning by Jesus to beware of those who profess what they do not have. It is abundantly clear that the strategy of the left aligns in perfect harmony with that of the Father of Lies. They use the same playbook.
#6, publications like Christianity Today is indicative of the infiltration of progressive ideology into pseudo-Christian organizations. They claim to be what they are not and do much harm to those people and organizations who have genuine faith. It pains me to know you have been disappointed by so called Christians. I can assure you that if you follow Jesus, He will not let you down. Men will always disappoint you. Jesus will not. Get a Bible with a red letter edition which indicates the words of Jesus. Read those words carefully and you will understand how sinful men have perverted the teachings of Jesus. Some men purposefully do evil in Jesus’ name and claim it is good and they have done immeasurable damage to the cause of Christ. I would urge anyone to put their focus on Jesus instead of man. He will not disappoint.

Last Sunday our pastor (who I do respect) slipped in an analogy to the shepherds. It was circuitous and tangential, but he stated that immigrant doctors, lawyers, and other professionals must take entry-level jobs in our country. I thought, "Where is he getting his information?" My wife later said, "Has he been to a doctor's office lately?" Last year he made the remark that "America has never taken the high moral road." That pushed me out of the church for several months. All this to say: one's beliefs are only as good as the information they are based on. Most reports I read are that foreign workers actually displace Americans. Oh well...

So sorry to be late to the party, but IMO, Billy Graham went kind of sideways toward the left before ever publishing the magazine. No point getting into the theological weeds of all that now. But as many believers of ALL stripes will tell you, the Almighty decides who and when our leaders will take office. I was pondering that fact many presidents ago. That doesn't mean only our presidents, but representative leaders also, down to the local level. Mark Galli is way off base. One week he pontificates about God's mercy and the next he claims some political superiority which is not his to claim.. If he should opine that it is only his opinion, and not that of the late Dr. Graham or any of his evangelizing children, then fine. But do not take a stand that cannot be supported by scripture.
