Two thousand years ago, a Jewish carpenter lived a conventional life for 30 years in a tiny village in the Middle East. Then he became as they might say today, “radicalized.”
Historians agree that Jesus did exist – there are reliable ancient records of him. But most of what we know about him is limited to opaque and contradictory accounts written decades after his death in what we now call the Gospel of the New Testament.
In one sense, those Gospel accounts are profoundly simple. They say Jesus was the Messiah prophesized in the Hebrew Bible. As such, he performed miracles to save those needing saving.

No, he's not. Greta thinks she is.

A thoughtful piece for this Holy Season. Yes, read the Gospels and investigate the Reality of Christ for yourself. That the church has 'feminized' Jesus Christ over the last millennia is a good point. And the title & the last line - "He is not your mom." He never was afraid to speak His Word nor serve His Father - however much social censure came at Him. He called us to be strong - even though we are weak.

Everyone at that Aspen paper is high. You can decide if it's altitude or drugs. In their case, I'd say drugs. I hope the Greta "faux news" cycle ends yesterday.

Jesus Christ was a Man but also God at the same time. He was sent by his Father to show us the truth and to give us a plan to spend eternity with him. He was Jehovah Rapha the healer, Jesus the teacher, and Jesus the Son of God.He was Jehovah Jireh the Provider, Jehovah-Elohi, the LORD God,Jehovah-Adonai Lord GOD, ELOHIM. My Creator, EL SHADDAI My Supplier, ADONAI. My Master, JEHOVAH NISSI My Banner and JEHOVAH MAKADESH My Sanctifier and these are just a start. And Jesus Christ my Savior. The sinners in the article the writer spoke of will receive their judgement or reward at the day of judgement. Those who whom he appointed leaders who turned away from Christ to carnal pleasure, will spending eternity in the pit of fire.

Unfortunately, Glenn does not have a clue about Jesus.
"But most of what we know about him is limited to opaque and contradictory accounts written decades after his death in what we now call the Gospel of the New Testament."
There is no contradiction among the Gospels, only similar events written with different perspectives emphasizing different aspects in the vernacular and style of the writers.
"He sometimes judged people, even as he admonished them not to judge others."
He did not come to judge, but to be judged! That's from His own mouth. If He judged then He is a liar, and He is NO liar! He simply stated what THE LAW said about sinners. And by the way, had the Pharisees brought the male adulterer along with the female adulteress, He would have said to stone them both to death, as that WAS the Law. As it was bringing only the female was a trap, and He knew it.
"He was tempted and occasionally afraid."
Excuse me? When?
"With his last breath he cried out, “Lord, why have you forsaken me?”"
No, He didn't. His last words were actually, "Father, into Thy hands I commit my Spirit." And then he died.
He said SEVEN things on the cross, each of them being extremely significant, among the most important was, "Tetelestai," which in Aramaic means, "It is finished" with the tense meaning that it was 'finished in the past with the result that it keeps on being finished forever.'
Carpenters of that day didn't go to Home Depot and buy lumber. They had to cut the trees, haul it from the hills, saw it into planks, and stack it for drying. This required a lot of muscle to accomplish. It's almost certain that Jesus took over His step-father's business and managed it until He was called to His ministry.
I appreciate where Glenn is going with his narrative, but it is factually inaccurate, and when it comes to the Bible, facts matter.
