A UN climate summit in Madrid risked collapsing Saturday after all-night negotiations between countries left them more divided than ever over on how to fight global warming and pay for its ravages. Diplomats from rich nations, emerging giants and the world's poorest countries—each for their own reasons—found fault in a draft agreement put forward by host Chile in a botched attempt to strike common ground. Faced with five-alarm warnings from science, deadly extreme weather made worse by climate change, and weekly strikes by millions of young people, negotiations in Madrid were under pressure to send a clear signal

All about the money - again. The third-world kleptocracies are screaming to be paid off, and the deep-pocket nations are rightly asking, "What for?" Meanwhile, coal-fired China turns up a billion noses at them all.
Pass the popcorn.

The wealth redistribution budget seems to be a problem. Let Greta T be the arbiter. She is the sock puppet for globalist climate changers that want complete control of all sectors of energy production.

America signed on to the UN Charter on June 6, 1945. They couldn't decide back then any more than they can decide now how much 'little countries' will pay. All the UN wanted to do was pick Uncle Sam's pockets. They've done a fine job stealing from us for the last 76 years. Just like NATO, in thinking that we won't run out of money.

Question: If the changing climate is such a horrendous nemesis, and is something that humans can affect, why don't we just change the climate for the better?

I've got it! Since all of the striking and protesting young people seem to be the most passionate about Climate Change, let's see them donate all of their spare money to the poor nations and set an example for the rest of us neanderthals. Giving up their cell phones, tattoos and hair enhancements should make them feel great! Once we see the struggling industrial countries clean up their air and water overnight we can feel proud to donate more and help them all move to clean energy. The poor countries are happy, the young people are happy, and cows can rest easy again. We rich people can learn to love electric cars, I know we can.

Or - America can agree to finance it all just like they want and the world will love us again.

This is what happens when the UN runs out of other people's money. In this case, our money. Thank you President Trump!

Paying them for what? And who exactly gets that money? Certainly not the people, what could they do with the money that has anything to with " climate change/global warming". The governments of the countries ? LOL, a sure way to line the pockets of those in office.A farce from the start .

"Can't figure out a compensation plan". Translation - they can't steal from the US taxpayer, but they did manage to drink plenty of fine wine and eat five star meals at someone else's expense. Looks like the climate conference failed Greta again....... ho hum

Excellent news. Let's hope that they continue to accomplish nothing.
ZERO "compensation" for "poorer nations". NONE. EVER.
There is no "climate emergency" so no reason in the world for any of this.

It's all about the Benjamin's, after all.
And, most of the prognostications all use qualifying words like, could, may, might. Not real definitive on what may, might, possibly, happen.
Heck, they've been wrong on every timeline they've presented in the last 50 years. Remember, Earth Day was initially about the coming Ice Age.

If the world is facing an extinction level event as claimed by the majority of "climate change" believers could someone explain to me how moving money from one bank to another is going to save us? Will the same remedy be suggested if a giant meteor is headed Earth's way?

So the truth comes out. This is about Robin Hood, not climate change.
Take from the rich to give to the poor!!!!
And thank God (for about the 86,225,654 thing) that the Hilldebeast is not president, or I'm sure she would follow Ovomit's lead and happily given our tax dollars to poor countries that hate us in the name of "global warming compensation"!!!!!

Gee - I guess all the Euroweenies so concerned about "carbon footprints" will have to climb back into their private jets and fly home, empty-handed.

"One has to free oneself from the illusion that international climate policy is environmental policy. This has almost nothing to do with the environmental policy anymore, with problems such as deforestation or the ozone hole," said Edenhofer, who co-chaired the U.N.'s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change working group on Mitigation of Climate Change from 2008 to 2015.So what is the goal of environmental policy?
"We redistribute de facto the world's wealth by climate policy," said Edenhofer.
If I recall correctly, the UN globalists got most of the 'small' & 'poor' nations to sign up for the Paris Climate Agreement by promising them CA$H handouts from good ol' Uncle Sugar. Thank You President Trump for putting the Kabosh on THAT!
The Maldives (remember they were going to be swamped by rising sea levels caused by Global Warming that in turn was caused by 'Anthropogenic' Cee-Oh-Two which comes partly from the boogeyman Jet Airliners?....... Maldives is finishing up building FIVE NEW AIRPORTS..... mostly for LUXURY TOURISTS to arrive by Jet Airliner.
Go read the analysis of the '97%' climate scare study...... it was complete GARBAGE, the purpose was to get the "97%" number into the Media.
Most of the climate researchers are funded by..... the Governments who want more CONTROL. Those 'scientists' know -without being told- that they'd better 'Toe the Line' on 'Anthropogenic Climate Disruption' (or whatever it's called this week) if they want their next Research Grant to get approved.
The slight Increase in the atmospheric trace gas CO-2 (from something like 3-1/2 parts per 10,000 to 4 parts per 10,000) is helping plants grow stronger and faster..... worldwide. Look up 'Global Greening'.
The global Temperature records are 'revised' several times a year. That's right... they go in and ALTER the RECORDED TEMPERATURE NUMBERS from years ago...... and the older the numbers, the more they are REDUCED to make the 'temperature increase' chart STEEPER.

Think how much money Trump saved us when he took us out of the Paris agreement.
Of course, the Warmist Believers will try to extract money from international companies. They will still cost us something. But we have been saved billions in danegeld.
