Graham says he won't call any
impeachment witnesses in Senate
committee: 'It's a crock'

Senate Judiciary Chairman Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., said Thursday that he wants the Democratic-led impeachment "sham" process to end quickly. Appearing on "America's Newsroom" with hosts Bill Hemmer and Sandra Smith, Graham said he'd like to end the impeachment process "as soon as possible." "I don't want to give it any legitimacy because it's a crock," he said, noting that "every impeachment except this one has been conducted by outside counsel." Earlier this week, House Democrats announced two articles of impeachment against President Trump, alleging abuse of power and obstruction of Congress.

Comments:

Sure, this all sounds really great, it comes off as Graham going for justice and supporting Trump, but IMO, the primary motivation for a short, no witnesses trial is to keep a lid on the massive, widespread corruption that has been associated with Ukraine.

OANN, the only news outlet to send a reporter to Ukraine to investigate, reports that McCain and Graham were also getting kickbacks from Ukraine, so you can bet that Graham wants this whole thing buried PRONTO.

At a minimum they have to call the whistleblower and Schiff. They started this, and Trump has a constitutional right to face his accusers.

The need to call Case Agent 1, the one who was instrumental in the early stages, and produced many of the errors, and refused to use the exculpatory evidence, should be called first. And, ask who set him/her to start the spying? What information initiated the spying? After all, Carter Page was also a CIA asset, which was not disclosed to the FISA court, as the e-mail was falsified to state he didn't work for them.

I don't care if the Senate has a quick trial with no witnesses, as long as they first provide full and complete pretrial discovery. For complete fairness, they should adopt the same rules that the Democrat House adopted. That means that the Republican committee heads would be able to subpoena andy any witnesses and documents that they want, decide whether the witnesses will testify in public or in private, and selectively leak whatever portions of private testimony and documents that they want, while the Democrat minority will only be able to call witnesses that are approved in advance by the Republican committee heads and will be prohibited from asking any questions that the Republican committee heads decide are off limits. The President's attorneys should also be afforded the right to subpoena any witnesses and documents that they think are relevant, since they were permitted no discovery in the House.

Fine, Shut it down quickly if you want. It won't stop Barr and Durham from tracking down those who participated in this and other foreign aid laundering schemes and got rich. Just nail the democrats before the elections next year, and then the pubbies after the elections. Hopefully SC will catch on and not send Linda back for another 6 years, picking an honest local conservative instead.

This whole Impeachment show trial would collapse immediately with ONE sentence from the mouth of Miss Lindsey, "If the House votes to Impeach the President and send the Articles of Impeachment to the Senate then the Judicial Committee's first witness will be President Barack Obama." To hell with all the underlings, go straight for the crime boss.

Fake impeachment, its really a coup. The fix is in or its not. Either way there is no point in continuing the façade of an impeachment hearing. If they really do remove Trump from office, it will be done quickly. The longer the charade goes on, the more it falls apart. The support is not there. Very likely there will be a backlash over this come election time. How much time and money have been wasted? How many people have been hurt because they were treated like criminals?

I want witnesses so that it is recorded for history what a conspiracy this has all been. It needs to be documented who set this up and how it all came to pass. I have always thought the Republicans could have tried soooo much harder during the Clinton impeachment, but good ol' boy Trent Lott had no interest.

I tend to agree with an immediate vote for acquittal. It gives Graham & Company less opportunity to screw it up. Damn GOPs had better get their act together and not blow it. Instead of calling witnesses, throw their asses in jail. Let them testify in court.

For the past year, parents and students across the county, mostly in Democrat-run municipalities, have been experiencing excessive levels of stress due to unending school closures. Red states like Florida, Texas, and South Dakota have been open for months. Meanwhile, the teacher’s unions have a stranglehold on the public schools in Democrat states, refusing to open for a litany of absurd reasons. Part of me sympathizes with the conservative parents who are struggling to cope with working from home and the online curriculum management of their children. (Though that sympathy does not extend to liberal parents who knowingly voted for this lunacy.) But I am struggling to understand why

Recently on FOX News's Hannity show, Ari Fleisher, a self-described member of the establishment GOP, weakly attempted to placate both sides of the fractured Republican Party. He emphatically pleaded the argument that the establishment needs to respect the patriot wing, and the patriot side needs the establishment to know how to pass laws. I am sure I was joined in a collective double-take upon hearing Mr. Fleischer's disconnected reasoning. Since 2008, the Republican Party has been in a political downfall. Each political cycle, the self-lauded establishment GOP overwhelmingly endorsed weak candidates across the board

I’ve made a minor hobby of looking skeptically at immunizations since my case report on atypical measles was published as the centerpiece article in JAMA 45 years ago. That case illustrated at least one unpublicized problem from immunizations. It seems that the original measles vaccine, “a killed measles vaccine” was given to preschool kids beginning in 1962-63 and available until 1968. It did prevent measles for about six years. Thereafter, when these kids were exposed to measles they sometimes developed an inverted and much more serious illness. My case was the first that occurred in a young adult 14 years after immunization.

Make the "United States" plural again. Is that so much to ask? Up until the Civil War, that was the customary grammatical construction. "The United States of America are committed to..." "The United States of America have declared war upon..." "The United States of America stand together..." Ah, there's the rub. These United States of ours do not really stand together anymore on anything, and only the linguistic shrewdness of treating the "United States" as a singular entity provides the fictitious veneer of national unity. In a world filled with fake news, fake markets, and fake elections, ignoring proper grammatical rules

Electric vehicles are being sold, in part, on how much they’ll save people in terms of maintenance costs. That’s a total con. EVs are not no-maintenance or even low-maintenance relative to non-electric cars. They are different maintenance. And they’re not cheaper to maintain. Instead of oil and filter changes, you change the battery pack. That will shortly become clear. An oil/filter change generally costs about $50 ($10 for a filter, $5 per quart of oil times 5 to 6 quarts, plus the labor, if you pay someone else to do it). Most non-electric cars need their oil and filter changed about once every 6,000 miles or so — about twice a year
