Senate Judiciary Chairman Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., said Thursday that he wants the Democratic-led impeachment "sham" process to end quickly.
Appearing on "America's Newsroom" with hosts Bill Hemmer and Sandra Smith, Graham said he'd like to end the impeachment process "as soon as possible."
"I don't want to give it any legitimacy because it's a crock," he said, noting that "every impeachment except this one has been conducted by outside counsel."
Earlier this week, House Democrats announced two articles of impeachment against President Trump, alleging abuse of power and obstruction of Congress.

Is this guy slick or what? He's going to get his cake and eat it too. He gets to support President Trump by calling for a quick discharge of the impeachment trial looking like a hero to the right, while hiding his own complicity in any Ukraine dealings.

Yep, he and his buddy McCain and have dirty hands, including other politicians who are quaking in their boots. Let's face it, the Dems are not the only crony capitalists in Washington. Except they get away with everything. This will be a quick acquittal with no quid pro quo. Done!!

Doesn't the President have anything to say about this? Glenn Beck was saying on his radio program this week that this is such an opportunity to expose all the corruption that is going on in these institutions.

At a minimum they have to call the whistleblower and Schiff. They started this, and Trump has a constitutional right to face his accusers.

The need to call Case Agent 1, the one who was instrumental in the early stages, and produced many of the errors, and refused to use the exculpatory evidence, should be called first.
And, ask who set him/her to start the spying? What information initiated the spying? After all, Carter Page was also a CIA asset, which was not disclosed to the FISA court, as the e-mail was falsified to state he didn't work for them.

Graham and Senate Republican leadership don’t give a hoot about President Trump. They do not want dirty deals THEY are involved in and profit from to come to light. I pray SC voters will have the guts to dump this rat next election.

Lindsey believes his "great" opening statements and tough talk yesterday means he can get away with not really fighting back. We're not fooled, Lindsey. We see you; straight down the middle doesn't cut it. Say it with me, team; DO NOT trust Linsey Graham.

I don't care if the Senate has a quick trial with no witnesses, as long as they first provide full and complete pretrial discovery. For complete fairness, they should adopt the same rules that the Democrat House adopted. That means that the Republican committee heads would be able to subpoena andy any witnesses and documents that they want, decide whether the witnesses will testify in public or in private, and selectively leak whatever portions of private testimony and documents that they want, while the Democrat minority will only be able to call witnesses that are approved in advance by the Republican committee heads and will be prohibited from asking any questions that the Republican committee heads decide are off limits. The President's attorneys should also be afforded the right to subpoena any witnesses and documents that they think are relevant, since they were permitted no discovery in the House.

Fine, Shut it down quickly if you want. It won't stop Barr and Durham from tracking down those who participated in this and other foreign aid laundering schemes and got rich. Just nail the democrats before the elections next year, and then the pubbies after the elections. Hopefully SC will catch on and not send Linda back for another 6 years, picking an honest local conservative instead.

This whole Impeachment show trial would collapse immediately with ONE sentence from the mouth of Miss Lindsey, "If the House votes to Impeach the President and send the Articles of Impeachment to the Senate then the Judicial Committee's first witness will be President Barack Obama."
To hell with all the underlings, go straight for the crime boss.

Fake impeachment, its really a coup. The fix is in or its not. Either way there is no point in continuing the façade of an impeachment hearing. If they really do remove Trump from office, it will be done quickly. The longer the charade goes on, the more it falls apart.
The support is not there. Very likely there will be a backlash over this come election time. How much time and money have been wasted? How many people have been hurt because they were treated like criminals?

So does this mean that Graham is afraid of what the Biden's might say about HIS involvement in Ukraine?

There is nothing that says that after Impeachment is voted down, that the Senate Committees could not hold investigations on these matters.
Will it happen? Not Likely.

I want witnesses so that it is recorded for history what a conspiracy this has all been. It needs to be documented who set this up and how it all came to pass. I have always thought the Republicans could have tried soooo much harder during the Clinton impeachment, but good ol' boy Trent Lott had no interest.

I tend to agree with an immediate vote for acquittal. It gives Graham & Company less opportunity to screw it up. Damn GOPs had better get their act together and not blow it. Instead of calling witnesses, throw their asses in jail. Let them testify in court.

Sure, this all sounds really great, it comes off as Graham going for justice and supporting Trump, but IMO, the primary motivation for a short, no witnesses trial is to keep a lid on the massive, widespread corruption that has been associated with Ukraine.
OANN, the only news outlet to send a reporter to Ukraine to investigate, reports that McCain and Graham were also getting kickbacks from Ukraine, so you can bet that Graham wants this whole thing buried PRONTO.
