United States Attorney John Durham responded to Justice Department inspector general Michael Horowitz’s report on Monday by stating that it was incorrect due to the limited information that it was based on whereas Durham’s criminal investigation is not limited in scope and appears to have uncovered a lot more than Horowitz did.“I have the utmost respect for the mission of the Office of Inspector General and the comprehensive work that went into the report prepared by Mr. Horowitz and his staff,” Durham said in a statement.“However, our investigation is not limited to developing information from within component parts of the Justice Department,” Durham continued. “Our investigation has included

I'm not terribly surprised at the IG report. You aren't allowed to question anyone outside the department you are investigating. Seems to me any one with 2 or more children will recognize the " I don't know who broke the vase" defense. If no one admits to the act, he has nothing to go on. Much like Schiff and Nadler, making it up as they go, not permitting witnesses that do not adhere to the script. Is it fraud? I think so, but no one listens to me anyway.

I suppose the delay of the 'report' took this long because lefty Horowitz needed to white wash all his former co workers! Anyone surprised by this nothing burger?? The quick Barr and Durham reaction is pretty telling. I hope that the President dumps him when he starts his second term!

Barr and Durham would not be setting expectations without some confidence of theie current findings. IG has limited powers to investigate. I suspect Barr and Durham are making sure the door isn't closed based on this incomplete report. And to put pressure on certain potential felons.

I'll be surprised if any serious consequences are forthcoming. In this matter, justice is indeed blind.

The folks in the FBI had a long time to get their story straight about the origins of Crossfire Hurricane and they knew it could not include the Steele Dossier. If Alexander Downer's report of Papadopoulos conversation with Mifsud is all they had it seems like pretty slim pickings, and if that is all it takes to open an investigation into a major party nominees campaign one wonders why they weren't all over Hillary Clinton. In any event wouldn't verifying Mifsud was a Russian asset be the first order of business, but that did not seem to happen and Horowitz seems curiously uncurious about why that didn't happen. OTH if the FBI was relying on some other intelligence agency's assessment of who Mifsud worked for that would be something else. Or there is always the possibility that with so much time to concoct their cover stories the fine folks at the FBI have lied to Horowitz about the predication of their investigation. I suspect we will find out the answers to these questions and that is what has Washington, DC's panties in a twist tonight.
Mr Horowitz is to appear before congress in a couple of days and it might not be as pleasant an appearance as previous ones. He was warned by Barr and apparently by Durham. He should have listened.

Remember Mr. Horowitz’s IG investigation is administrative in nature limited to gathering evidence from Department of Justice employees and documents targeting people who are employed by the Department of Justice who may have violated Department of Justice regulations and policies. If during the course of such investigations criminal conduct is uncovered that conduct much be reported to the appropriate Office of the US Attorney for a possible prosecution determination.
With the criminal investigation being conducted by US Attorney Durham there are no limits, Durham can go anywhere and look for evidence from anyone either in the USA or abroad, bring evidence and witnesses before federal grand juries, and seek criminal indictments from those grand juries, leading to criminal prosecutions of anyone, even Democrat politicians, suspected of committing a federal criminal offense. There is a big difference in the authority and jurisdiction of administrative agency Inspector Generals and a US Attorney.

We really MUST have a bunch of CIA, FBI and DoJ folks in prison for this nightmare to end, and not become the new normal in DC.

I'm done expecting anything substantial from any of these reports. Enough! You can stop pretending to fight for the people. Sink back down into your swamps as before.
The FBI and CIA need to be weeded out to regain any credibility. Mr. Trump cannot do it all, tho.

Mueller passed out immunity deals to every demonrat he came across and I have yet to see Barr pull any of them back. Why is that do you think? I smell more cover-up but am still hopeful Durham is honest as the day is long.
