Aviation Gin, the liquor brand owned by the actor Ryan Reynolds, has mocked Peloton’s widely criticized holiday commercial with help from the same actress who appeared in a controversial ad for the exercise bike. Peloton’s advertisement went viral for all the wrong reasons. People have been obsessed with the stationary-bike advertisement showing a woman receiving the popular apparatus from her husband as a Christmas gift. The actress, who’s been nicknamed “Peloton Girl,” shows the not-necessarily-enthusiastic reaction of a woman who has just been given a workout machine as a present. Critics derided the Peloton commercial as sexist, arguing that the husband in the ad was pressuring his wife

I try to keep current, but I don't have a clue about this kerfuffle, nor am I further interested. Is this a big deal?

My take on the brouhaha over the original Peloton ad was, aren't we the land of the free, the home of the brave? When did a tiny group of perpetually (faux) outraged activists dictate to the rest of us what we should think and how we should act about every single issue? The activists and their like thinking, if you can call such sheep like behavior thinking, media cohorts, (who widely publicize the ever present noise and misinform the public by always implying a greatly exaggerated percentage of the population who is expressing the outrage) can go soak their collectivist (i.e. empty) heads.

The Peloton ad makes her look like the victim of an abusive relationship, always trying to please her domineering husband. There are some pretty funny spoofs of this commercial floating around... the funniest being the guy who can't afford a Peloton so he makes space for Push-Ups in his apartment.

Never saw the ad in question. But, I do want to give a shout out to American Aviator gin. I’m not a gin drinker, think it tastes nasty. But the wife bought some last summer for her gin and tonics. She urged me to try some and it was delicious.

It’s a cute commercial. Too bad a bunch of fat and out-of-shape feminists who are androphobic were triggered. Their natural response is to try and shame and bully those whose mere existence exposes their insecurities.

CONT ... bike and $40 a month membership. I'm guessing half of them are sitting in the garage, unused.

Some people, obviously, have WAY too much time on their hands, if they have to nit-pick this ad, or any ad. If you don't like the ad, don't by the product. And while we're at it, why no complaints about car ads, or ads that belittle white men?

I dislike the original ad but not because the husband was controlling (she's happy with the gift), it's the selfie obsessed wife who is annoying. She spends an entire year recording her workouts and then makes the family watch her video the next Christmas. He's the one who needs rescuing, not her.

If you are at least familiar with the premise that the woman in the Peloton ad was being coerced, then you'll find the Aviation Gin ad hilarious.

Just buy a bike. And a bottle of gin. Stay home and drink martinis.

I don't care anything about the made up "controversy". The girl has beautiful large eyes, Bambi like. That's my only take away. If our family had a Peloton the only discussion would be where do we store it.

Men are eventually going to get tired of being painted as the bad guys in everything, and are simply going to stop playing.
No more flirting. No more romantic dinners. No more non-practical gifts (like jewelry, candy, lingerie, etc, etc). Probably just gift cards to Wal-Mart.
It's sad that we normal women who like men making romantic gestures to us are going to pay the price for the evil fami-Nazi hags that are trying to neuter men!!!

My wife has an exercise bike from her 'single' days. For the 30+ years we've been married, it has served admirably as a makeshift clothes hanger.

I found nothing wrong with the ad. The Woketards are overreacting as usual.

In case you missed it, first commercial was criticized for making it look like the 'husband' was forcing an exercise bike on his unenthusiastic 'wife'.
