Six Saudi nationals have been arrested after an Air Force trainee - also from Saudi Arabia - opened fire at a naval base in Florida, killing three people and injuring eight.
The men were detained near the scene of the shooting, which took place at Naval Air Station in Pensacola early Friday morning. It is currently unclear why they have been arrested.
Three of the six Saudis were seen filming the entire incident as it unfolded, a source told The New York Times on Friday evening.

Authorities are probing whether the incident is terror-related. The shooter, who was shot dead by police, was first identified

After 9/11 instead of going to Iraq we should have gone to Saudi Arabia and left through Iran. With 15 of the 19 hijackers being Saudis, those in government might have gotten a clue. Instead, we got Jorge Bush proclaiming "islam is a religion of peace" and him taking windy walks, hand in hand on his ranch with king saud.

If there was some sort of a teaming, where they filmed while he killed, that ought to pretty much end the Saudi training in the US, permanently.
Islam if fundamentally incompatible with modern, free societies. Islam is a cancer on humanity.

I wish I was not uncomfortable with the FBI being the agency investigating.
I would trust military intelligence much more.

Filthy Islamofascist terrorist pigs should not be imported - even for training for the aircraft we sell them.
If the terrorist pig's muslim classmates filmed, it makes them implicitly part of the plot, doesn't it? They must have known they were safe...

This incident really hits home with me. Several years ago my son trained at Pensacola and when his class graduated a young man in a flight suit and odd arm patch was busy congratulating these newest of pilots. His patch included an emblem with scimitars and was obviously not American. When I was asked where he was from I was told he was a Saudi. Visions of the horrors of 9/11, Baghdad, Fallujah, Afghanistan, coffins draped with American flags at Dover AFB immediately came to mind and I was incredulous. Later that evening, at a private family dinner, I expressed incredulity that Saudis were training to fly U. S. made fighters on American military bases. I was immediately scolded by my family as sounding bigoted and Islamophobic but I stuck to my guns. I just thought it was nuts to train Saudi’s or Muslims in general to slit our throats. Today, I won’t bring it up to my family but I wonder if they remember that they felt that an average, middle aged American woman should be shamed in her own country for questioning the wisdom of fully embracing such a historically savage and dishonest kingdom after what its subjects did to us. And to our shame, innocent American gun owners will be scrutinized and in a year this particular incident will be largely forgotten and anyone voicing criticism of the “religion of peace” or Muslims will still be hushed and scorned.

Right. The Saudi king was angered by the shooting. Probably because only three Americans were murdered and not 30.
And by the way. Why are WE, working, American families, paying hundreds of million dollars for foreigners to come here and learn how to fly? Why aren't the countries these foreigners come from paying for THEIR citizens?

Nobody would FILM something like that without being okay with it. When will we wake up with what/who we are letting in this country? I saw on FOX tonite - don’t worry, the FBI is looking into the shooter’s background. The same clowns who were asleep so 9/11 could happen. Words fail me.

P.S. It looks like the spying Patriot Act was solely put into place to spy on USA citizens and not on any precious muzzie jihadis.

This hits home with me, a family with many naval aviators, current and former, living and dead.
One family member was a USN flight instructor, and six family members (if you count the ones by marriage) have passed thru P'cola at some point in their flying careers, although Meridian, Beeville and Whiting are also very active training fields, besides P'cola.
No more Muslims entering the USA, ever.

Legacy of Bush's just keeps on giving. Think of it as a Pearl Harbor day remembrance from the Bush family. They have been cozy with the Saudis for almost 100 years, to their benefit, and the detriment of the US. Nice family, good manners, don't say any crude things, but they let the devil into the tent...

ps: this hits home with me too. Pensacola is my home town, born and raised there, and my hubby grew up just a mile or so from the front entrance to the Naval Air Station. My brother in law runs a construction company which specializes in industrial buildings and has done a lot of work at NAS over the years and my sister in law lives within spitting distance of the base.

It's all about money from our side. We sell expensive airplanes and equipment to the Saudis. If we stop dealing with them, some government contractors will lose a lot of money. Better (in their view) to sacrifice a few lives now and then, to ensure that Saudi money keeps flowing! They can buy clunky Russian or Chinese airplanes, that don't have a chance against ours.
The Saudis are afraid of Iran. Let them fight Iran, and we will finish off the winner!

Unbelievable. Instead of trying to stop their classmate, they sit back and film him. Later in the article, it states that Saudi Arabia's King Salman was "angered by the shooting". They are buying our high priced next generation fighter (F-35) and need to be trained. It'll be interesting to see how this unfolds with future schools here for them.
