More than 500 legal scholars have signed on to an open letter asserting that President Trump committed “impeachable conduct” and that lawmakers would be acting well within their rights if they ultimately voted to remove him from office. The signers are law professors and other academics from universities across the country, including Harvard, Yale, Columbia, the University of California at Berkeley, the University of Michigan and many others. The open letter was published online Friday by the nonprofit advocacy group Protect Democracy. “There is overwhelming evidence that President Trump betrayed his oath of office by seeking to use presidential power to pressure a foreign government

It is more than sad that once great institutions have been thoroughly corrupted by Marxists and so-called 'democratic socialists' (that is an oxymoron if there ever was one). But it is no great surprise. Fortunately no one listens to them anymore.

Yeah, no bias in academia. Here in what used to be conservative Orange County, CA, UC Irvine started a law school, brought in a flaming liberal to head it up. the local fishwrap gave him a weekly column, and last year a UCI law professor stole a congressional seat via ballot harvesting.
Not sure WaPo noted it (and don't really want to give them my clicks), but 500 law professors don't make the decision, 100 senators do.

I am confident that 500 law professors could also be located to support decriminalization of pederasty if someone whipped up a petition.
The utter destruction of the value of liberal arts and professional education as it is currently offered in the U.S. is one of the worst crimes of the left. Our universities may be irreparable for decades to come (assuming we last that long as a society.)

500 law professors, every one of whom donated to Hillary Clinton and despises Donald Trump. This is such an old hat Leftist ploy. We're so used to the noise from the usual suspects, that we can't even hear it anymore.Let them spend their money on this nonsense. It will just take away from what they can afford to donate to whatever loser the Democrats eventually nominate to be their presidential candidate.

Hundreds of "doctors" have submitted their opinions on how Trump is unfit for office due to mental illness too, even though not one of them ever examined him. On the other hands, there are literally hundreds of thousands of opinions on how the WaPo and NYT are bubbling cesspools of TDS and vitriol, spreading fake news in BOLD HEADLINES, then burying the retractions so they don't get sued on pg A59. Screw the WaPo and the horse they rode in on.

I'm sure there are many more competent law professors like Jonathan Turley who are not participating in this biased publicity stunt. All of this wasted two years since the midterms is the direct result of "moderate" and "independent" voters being conned by a Democrat bait-and-switch scam and stampeded by a universal anti-Trump media blitz into voting for Democrat House candidates giving them the majority.
They all promised they would act as a "check and balance" against an "out of control" President and focus on the people's business. And, like Lucy does to Charlie Brown, they lied and pulled the football out of the way once again. Twice fooled, shame on me should apply but, as Einstein quipped, the 2 most abundant things in the Universe are hydrogen and stupidity. If you haven't figured out by now that the Democrat party is a RICO organization whose mission is to protect the power and pensions of their union members at the expense of any other constituency then you should probably back away from the voting booth before you hurt yourself.

I have a pretty good legal education. But, no matter how I look at the facts in this "impeachment" I fail to see President Trump doing anything wrong or illegal. Upside down, sideways, backwards, no matter how I look at it there is nothing to base impeachment on. It boggles my mind that supposedly highly intelligent people can actually see something that isn't there. Mass hallucination caused by TDS is all I can figure.

Would these same law professors be okay with the FACT that the President of the United States was not given the opportunity to defend himself in a meaningful way? He was not given the opportunity to call his own witnesses. He was not given an opportunity to cross-examine witnesses called by the "prosecutor" (i.e., the Democrat Party) -- at least not in a meaningful way.
Would these law professors be okay with this sort of star court were it acting against them? I bet dollars to doughnuts not!

You have to hand it to Wapo if they really contacted 500 lawyers, all lefties, of course. Hillary and the DNC will appreciate the effort. Did any of them cite specifically the actual charge? Most of the left just speak in general terms, as the proof. But that's good enough for their lofo voters, and media.
