The show is over. Articles of impeachment are about to be drafted.
The House’s televised public impeachment inquiry has been a long, painful and sometimes funny — as in “laugh until you cry” funny — slog. Now it’s time for The People to decide. At least, that’s what would happen in a scripted series with no basis in reality: TV justice, meted out by folks just like us, and in under an hour, is way sexier than a party-line vote.
But as senators prepare for the trial that would follow a House vote, it’s still unclear whether the viewers — sorry, citizens — in our televised democracy were persuaded one way or

I'm not sure what the author is trying to say. Is she saying that only presumptions and feelings matter when it comes to deciding to impeach the President and you don't really need any objective facts about impeachable acts? What is the charge then? Boorishness? Speaking loudly into a telephone? I bet there will be future Democrat presidents that are cads and talk loud on the phone so I hope the author is prepared for the very perpetual chaos that the Founders warned us about.
So here's some facts. Joe Biden is not the political rival of President Trump until he wins something which is unlikely because, as the President knows, he's quit the race every time he ran in the past. There is nothing wrong in any way for the President to coordinate investigations into corruption in foreign countries that involve US citizens. From his call he was generally aware of public facts and evidence that concerned him. In no way, at at no time did he ever condition the coordination of investigations with any benefit from the US to any Ukrainian official.
The President is innocent of any of the alleged charges and know it. It is entirely responsible on his part to resist what he and his lawyers perceive to be a political attack on the Presidency. It the Congress wants to argue the point they can take it to a judge. If that sounds like "Law and Order" too bad. Its the fairest way to reach the truth and its survived 240 years pretty well.

This 'critic' has been watching MSNBC, CNN and reading the LA Slimes. It's no wonder that she is convinced that Pres. Trump is guilty of everything bad that has happened in the World for the past 3+ years.
She is definitely not an unbiased critic.

Two things should come from this debacle: Congress should pass an Amendment governing rules for impeachment that require at least a minimum percentage of the minority vote in the House, so no one party can strong-arm the other like the scum Democrats have. And secondly, the Dems need to pay for their dereliction of office. Serious sanctions have to be levied against them for their mind-boggling abuses of power, both during this process and for the 3 years of nonstop interference. This has to stop NOW.

Ten bucks says that Ms. Ali never read the transcript of the telephone call, not the carefully parsed version that the NYTimes published in its effort to misinform readers as to the call's content, but the actual transcript, the one which should have ended this entire circus on the day the White House released it. "Air-tight case"? What disingenuous nonsense these "journalists" from inside the Leftist bubble disgorge in order to pollute our national conversation.

True. Law and Order episodes are generally based on real events.
The Impeachment Show, not so much.

This poor bimbette author believes that the undesirables of the world that elected President Trump just don't care in spite of her revealed special knowledge that an airtight case has been presented for impeachment and, in her mind at least, conviction and removal of President Trump. Meanwhile, in Fly Over country where intelligent people who work hard and can smell BS from miles away know what the game is. Refusal to accept a fantasy is what we are guilty of. Remember, these are the same people who wear masks, defend mask wearing morons, and tell us that we do not live according to some nebulous values that they supposedly believe.
I smell BS.

Yeah, we need to stop imagining that the process might be FAIR and even handed.
We are supposed to be happy with a Kangaroo Kourt of all lies, all the time run by Adam Schifferbrains, the most crooked, evil and corrupt Congressman in a long while - which is a high bar to have surmounted, no doubt.

No, it's not Law and Order. It's Political Theater, pure and simple. Actually, politics has become more like a reality show. And who better to preside over a reality show than our current president?

Far too many view serious matters involving the governance of our country as “made for TV” shows. Expecting a fast-moving arrest to trial to verdict, with fiery performances, and all within one hour (including commercials).
