A San Diego doctor who emigrated from South America is pushing to oust California Gov. Gavin Newsom, arguing the state's left-wing leadership has allowed cities to become "overrun by homelessness." "I came here legally at age 11. Having grown up in extreme poverty and being homeless to now being one of San Diego's most prominent physicians, that's the American Dream, that's the California dream. And that's what Gov. Newsom and left-wingers in the legislature are progressively destroying," James Veltmeyer said on "Fox & Friends" Monday. (Snip)Veltmeyer(Snip) and Republican Erin Cruz have both launched recall petitions, seeking 1.5 million signatures to force a special election.

Representative Adam Schiff's Impeachment Circus continued with his latest act — radical militant leftist law professor Pam Karlan. Not only is Karlan a radical militant leftist law professor, she is a dishonest one. You won't find a single mainstream outlet that is giddy over her shrill testimony touch on her false scholarship. Karlan worked at the Justice Department during the Obama administration. Not much got done on her watch. Where she really excels, however, is lobbing false charges at conservatives or Republicans. When I was an attorney at the Justice Department, I worked on a Voting Rights Act case that Karlan hated. Why? Because the victims of the racial discrimination were white.

Attorney General William Barr reportedly disagrees with a finding by the forthcoming Department of Justice (DOJ) Inspector General (IG) report that the FBI had sufficient reason to monitor the Trump campaign in 2016. The FBI conducted surveillance on Trump campaign associates, including foreign policy aide Carter Page, on the basis of suspicions that the campaign might have been colluding with Russia to interfere with the 2016 election. No evidence of collusion was ever found, though the surveillance continued well after the election, and the fact that the FBI was investigating the Trump campaign over Russia was leaked to Democrats and to the mainstream media. The IG report is expected to criticize the FBI

Harvard Law School professor Noah Feldman, one of the Democrats’ star witnesses called to testify before the House Judiciary Committee on Wednesday, authored an op-ed in May lamenting the lack of seriousness surrounding efforts to impeach President Trump, and admitting that House Democrats “made it painfully clear that discussing impeachment is primarily or even exclusively a tool to weaken Trump’s chances in 2020.” Feldman authored an op-ed featured in Bloomberg in May titled, “It’s Hard to Take Impeachment Seriously Now” and suggested that many of the ongoing discussions of impeaching Trump treat the action as a “trivialized gambit within the ordinary game of electoral politics.”

A Texas judge received a public warning Monday from the state's Commission on Judicial Conduct for refusing to perform same-sex marriages. McLennan County Justice of the Peace Dianne Hensley has said her “Bible-believing” Christian conscience did not allow her to perform same-sex weddings and believes she’s entitled to a “religious exemption.” Hensley continues to perform weddings for heterosexual couples. The order made public Monday said Hensley was violating Texas Code of Judicial Conduct which states, “A judge shall conduct all of the judge’s extra-judicial activities so that they do not cast reasonable doubt on the judge’s capacity to act impartially as a judge,”

For her first evening in London, England since last summer, Mrs. Trump went big and bold in a voluminous off-the-runway yellow Compact Drap cape by Valentino. The $3,850 cape, from the Fall 2019 Collection, is a microcosm of creative director Pierpaolo Piccioli’s codes for Valentino — striking colors, volume galore, and a childlike innocence. Mrs. Trump wore the Valentino piece over a custom knit dress by her personal couturier Hervé Pierre in a purple-pink shade which matched her suede Christian Louboutin stilettos.

California Sen. Kamala Harris should never have run for president in the first place. Her ambition far exceeded her ability. She hadn’t yet established herself in the U.S. Senate. And she hadn’t exactly excelled in her previous job as California’s attorney general. There wasn’t much of a record worth bragging about on the campaign trail. The White House and members of the Trump family Wednesday slammed a constitutional scholar for referencing 13-year-old Barron Trump during the House Judiciary Committee’s impeachment hearing. Pamela Karlan, a Stanford law professor, was asked how the powers of a president differ from that of a British king. Ms. Karlan said kings had virtually unlimited authority while the Constitution limits presidential powers. To illustrate her point, she referenced President Trump’s son, Barron. “The Constitution says there can be no titles of nobility, so while the president can name his son Barron, he can’t make him a baron,” Ms. Karlan said to laughter and applause in the hearing room.

This year's education scandal saw parents shelling out megabucks to gain college admittance for their children. Federal prosecutors have charged more than 50 people with participating in a scheme to get their children into colleges by cheating on entrance exams or bribing athletic coaches. They paid William Singer, a college-prep professional, more than $25 million to bribe coaches and university administrators and to change test scores on college admittance exams such as the SAT and ACT. As disgusting as this grossly dishonest behavior is, it is only the tiny tip of fraud in higher education.
