There is no evidence that the Federal Bureau of Investigation tried to plant a spy inside President Trump’s campaign in the run-up to the 2016 election, an upcoming Department of Justice report will claim. The conclusion was reached by DOJ’s inspector general, Michael Horowitz, who is leading an internal review of the origins of the investigation into alleged Russian meddling in the 2016 elections, according to The New York Times. The Times quoted a source who has seen a draft copy of Horowitz’s report, which is scheduled to be released on December 9.

Sorry for posting such a downer article. If this is true, I will be furious, yet again.

Well, duh. They weren't FBI sources. They were CIA (Mifsud) and DOD (Halper) sources. And of course, the DOJ IG just deals with DOD/FBI issues. So, yeah, we're clean but the guys over in the next department were the culprits.

CTH notes the significance of the wording that no 'informants' were used. That much may be true, but by no means does this signify that spying did not occur through other methods. NY Times is incapable of publishing the truth, so take it or leave it.

This is based upon links from the principals - those named in the IG’s report - who have leaked to the NYT to get out ahead of the story. These leaks constitute their rebuttals to what is said about them in the report. The IG’s rebuttals to their leaked rebuttals have yet to come out. It is expected that he will have much stronger things to say about them as he refutes their CYA rebuttals. Don’t give up quite yet. An article posted from Conservative Treehouse explains. Tip: The leaks are intended to dishearten us… are we really going to sheeple along and take the bait?

Whatever conclusions the Horowitz reached are not necessarily the way the AG Barr and John Durham will respond to the evidence. Horowitz will testify publicly to the Senate Judiciary Committee and if he can convince the Republican Senators that will question him that the evidence that was carefully researched and documented by Gregg Jarrett and other reporters is not what happened I'll be very surprised. I have an open mind but I'm not going to ignore the facts in evidence. I would also expect Jarrett, Andrew McCarthy, Lee Smith, and John Solomon that have reported on these matters to explain any disparities with what they researched.

The 10-year surge in illegal and legal immigration has exploded the populations of mostly Democratic states enough that the 2020 census is likely to result in the redistribution of 24 House seats in states President Trump won, according to a new population analysis released Thursday morning. The prediction from the Center for Immigration Studies said that 26 seats overall will shift due to immigration increases since the last census was taken. And it said that a minimum of 19 of those seats will be added to Democratic states.

Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) launched the debate over the impeachment of President Donald Trump on Wednesday by comparing the Democrats’ struggle to remove him from office to the Battle of the Bulge against Nazi Germany in World War II. Described as “Hitler’s Last Gamble,” the battle began in December 1944, when the Nazis sent 200,000 troops into a surprise attack against American forces. Though the Americans prevailed, 100,000 were killed or wounded over two months of fighting. Pelosi drew an analogy between the impeachment debate and that battle, the largest ever fought by the U.S. Army:

You could say the same of the movie itself. We can debate the importance of final chapters, whether they really have, or should have, the power to elevate or invalidate everything that came before them—and though the ninth episode in this generation-spanning story has been advertised with the promise that “The Saga Will End,” that’s a promise that has been made and broken before.

The House has voted to impeach President Trump. The historical significance of this event lies mainly in the fact that, until now, no president has been impeached without some allegation in an article of impeachment that he committed a crime. This was also the first impeachment proceeding that had no support in the House from a single member of the president’s party. Legal scholars disagree as to whether impeachment requires a crime. However, the Constitution provides that impeachment of a president is to be for “treason, bribery, or other high crimes and misdemeanors.” I find it hard to read this language as permitting impeachment
