If CNN contributor Joan Walsh has a say in the matter, the Democratic Party has just been given another article of impeachment in the wake of President Donald Trump’s “terrifying” aloofness toward the military dog Conan.Hey, when hating Trump is your business, it doesn’t take much to get you worked up.Conan, the hero dog who was injured in the raid which led to the death of ISIS leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, was honored at the White House on Monday, receiving both a medal and a plaque. Yet, Walsh opted to respond to what proves to be a proud moment for military dogs and their effectiveness by trashing Trump

Having seen a few demonstrations of police dogs going through their paces, I'm wary of them. The handlers will let you pet them if you ask permission, but they definitely aren't like your neighbor's pet golden retriever.

What a stupid article. Just proves that Trump haters will use any excuse to slam PRESIDENT Trump
I was actually surprised that VP Pence was allowed to pet the dog. Service dogs are not allowed to be distracted with someone petting them. The man holding the dogs leash was not Conans handler.
Oh and why is Melania’s coat written about in the article. Personally, I don’t really like it, but so what. The MSM must be getting desperate. They are getting ridiculous

Amen, #1. Those dogs are trained to maim and kill. I would be “aloof” too, even though I adore dogs and have 3 of them lounging in my living room right now, including a Pit. I would call PDT’s “aloofness” RESPECT for Conan and her training and abilities.
“Terrifying”? Really, snowflake? The fact that PDT didn’t get all cuddly with a military dog is “terrifying”?
And what is macabre about a floral coat? I would love to own that coat. Any excuse in the world to bash the gorgeous and classy Melania. If you want to see “macabre” fashion, take a look at Mooch’s boob belts and Illary’s tent dresses.

This has become a little game with me to see what excuse they can come up with to attack PDJT.
They never disappoint & often - as in this article - astound me with infinite hate they have for our President.
To say they have no shame is not even scratching the surface.

This is not a pet. This is a working dog. Not going to shake hands and roll over. Idiots.

Oh please. I don't think President and Mrs. Trump are dog people. I am, but I understand some people simply aren't. Vice President Pence certainly loves dogs. He was enjoying himself petting that beautiful doggo.

Isn't Joan Walsh the woman who had an article bashing conservative women because of their bra size? Several years ago. I think she was jealous.

The President and First Lady are quite obviously not dog people. Understandable. I am definitely not a cat person.

Conan wants to send Joan Walsh his regards, and a little something he made for her himself. It comes in a plastic scooper.

So first they condemn the president for having the dog there, and then they condemn him for not acting properly toward the dog? So which is it, CNN?
Oh yeah, I forgot, it's damned if you do and damned if you don't!

The "terrifying" is what got me. What is wrong with these Leftists? Did Walsh actually find this terrifying? If so, how far around the bend is she? Does obsessive hatred lead to such absurdity? It's as if their are no adults left in news organizations, they are all so deeply immersed in the Leftist bubble.

I love dogs. I have had many dogs in my lifetime as beloved pets. However, Conan, I would have had a lot of respect for, in other words, keep my distance. He is highly trained to do what he does. Quick gestures on my part might have cost me a limb or two. Gorgeous animal, though.
If you have a wardrobe of coats, such seems to be the case for Melania, you might say the coat was fine. Just one of many. However, I can only afford 2-3 coats, I tend to stick to the very plain style and basic colors. Scarves are a must!!
Her coat was fine for her.
Isn't this stupid to talk about? Coats and dogs!!

Pres Trump needs to give Conan a job with WH Security. It would be the last time Nancy Pelosi and the Democrats stop to visit.

I won’t bother to comment on this insipid article, above posters have covered it, esp.#6. RE the coat, anything she wears is AOK by me! I saw a clip of her ( with coat) receiving the Christmas tree, and both ( female) news commentators said they “loved” it.

This typically stupid, and ignorant (two classes of mental failing) person does not grasp that police and military dogs are NOT pets, and are not trained to be pets. Some may be friendly, many are not friendly to other than their handler and a few folks they know well.
And, since Trump and Melania are big city people, who often have little contact with dogs, I wouldn't expect that the people or the dog would be very playful, especially in this setting.
These people are easily "terrified" or they just toss around the word without meaning, like pretty much everything CNN does.

Once again, small-mindedness comes to the forefront. Could it be that Donald Trump or Melania Trump are allergic to dogs? Maybe they both saw how much Vice President Pence was enjoying the visit with Conan that they stepped back from being front and center.

Different strokes for different folks. In that respect some people like dogs and some don’t care to be near dogs, especially big powerful dogs. It’s funny but dogs can tell the difference, and that’s why Conan and Mike Pence were immediate buddies. If President Trump and Melania are not dog people that’s their business, but Trump went out of his way to honor and respect this particular military dog, as ask yourself how many dogs are invited to the White House?
I once had a big powerful male Airedale Terrier. He grew up with children in the house and was very friendly. He was also one of the dogs who could tell if a visitor to the house or someone we met while out walking was dog friendly or not. When we were out on a walking trail he and I could tell that difference in approaching people straight away. As sometimes adults and their children would want to pet and talk with him as he sat there, while others walked by as far to the other side of the trail as possible without making any eye contact with the dog watching them pass. We had no problem either way. His big deal was sticking his big head into baby carriages being pushed by friendly mothers.
One thing is clear, Trump is a big time jokester and is happy to let it all air out as he addresses the fake media who he knows have no sense of humor. That’s the lesson of this article.
