Rep. Mike Conaway told House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff during the public impeachment hearings that he wanted to know the legal grounds on which Schiff refused to allow the naming of the whistleblower.
"Mr. Chairman, I would like, as a personal request, I request that you and/or one of your lawyers, one of the members of the committee, put into the record the federal statute that provides for the absolute immunity, right to immunity, that you've exerted over and over and over," the Texas Republican said Tuesday. "I don't think it's there, but if it is, in fact, a federal statute and/or a brief that you can cite,

Schiff: I have the authority to conceal the whistleblower’s name because I have the ball and the bat and we’re going to play by my rules. So there!

If the Dems want to go down this road they shouldn't be surprised if the same tactics are used against them when they lose majority in the House come Nov 2020. Then we'll hear whining like never before.

I am sorry the good Congressman is retiring, but after 20 years of this I do not blame him.

Why not a loud sneeze by a Repub followed by “ Eric Ciaramella” from all of the Repubs on Committee. Or, “Good morning and Eric Ciaramella to you, Lt Colonel Mustard”. And, “On behalf of my colleagues, I wish you a Happy Eric Ciaramella.” Interject his name as much as possible. Let Schiffless scream as much as he wants since he has no legal basis for preventing use of a name.

If there is a trial in the Senate, rest assured he will be the first one called.

The unsubstantiated accusations from an anonymous political activist are all it takes to remove a duly elected Republican President from office.
Yeah. We will all sit back and let the Democrats get away with that...

This is my congressman. When asked what the Repubs planned to do to go on offense against the impeachment farce, he stammered around and said, "Well, there's nothing we can do. They make the rules since they're in the majority."
Well, congradulations, Mike, you found a fraction of your spine. I, for one, and NOT impressed and will be glad to see you GONE!

Maybe McConnel will write a few new rules for the Senate, should the democrats be stupid enough to vote impeachment!

Schiff, the “whistleblower’s" lawyer and the rest of the mob are trying so hard to Protect him, i.e the W.B. I think they should put him in a very safe place. Perhaps the cell where Epstein was so carefully protected.

Really what we need next is for every Republican on the committee to bring a fart toy. Every time Schiff opens his mouth, someone lets go a blast. The next word out of his mouth, the next one blasts. When he loses his cool, all of them at once.
Why does the US Congress permit this tin-horn dictator to rule a committee? When one political party sets up meetings that abandon all the form and structure of legislative debate, what they have is a backyard barbeque, not the legislature functioning under the authority of the Constitution and the US Government. Pelosi and Schiff have no authority of their own. The only authority they have is in executing their legitimate functions within the US Government. When they abandon these legitimate functions, they are nothing but honking geese. Honest Congresspeople should be calling on the Sargent at Arms and the Capital Police to turn them out.
A legislature where minority speakers are gagged, due process is abandoned, and only a how trial is permitted, is no a meeting of the United States Congress. No one can say exactly what it is, but no one has to.
So a megalomaniac has come to stride the halls of Congress. We have seen such people before. Why do we hesitate to turn him out?

Just saw a photo of Ciaramella that was posted today-showing him in a serious handshake with Barkey. The look on his face made me think that he just may be a 'whistle' blower, like his hero.

Schiff does not need to do anything. He is the man in charge. Apologies to Rep Conway, but Schiff does not work for you. Schiff works for the Deep State. And only he has the keys. There is no authority over Schff, as he is the chair of the Committee. Forget about it.
He, and he alone, will decide.

I imagine a Republican’s personal plea would fall on Schiff’s deaf ears. How about “the American people deserve to know who has leveled these charges against their duly-elected President”? I believe that so-called “whistleblower” Eric Ciaramella had just one primary source: Alexander Vindman.
