Democratic debate: All eyes are on Pete
Buttigieg, especially from skeptical black voters

Presidential hopeful Pete Buttigieg's success in recent polls suggests he has a big target on his back — one that, if not skillfully negotiated, could cost him the Democratic nomination. Buttigieg’s campaign is surging, just in time for Wednesday’s Democratic presidential primary debate in Atlanta. Once an obscure long shot, Buttigieg has wedged his way to the top of a field featuring Democratic candidates Vice President Joe Biden and Sens. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) and Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.). Buttigieg is leading in the Iowa polls, with 25% of voters in one survey saying he’s their first choice for president. Since September

Comments:

Petey may be the favorite rainbow candidate, but is still close to zero with black voters.

We've come a long way. Fifty years ago Mayor Pete would have been busted on a morals charge. I miss the good old days.

I suspect lots of black men just don't like gays, but since they are black and Democrats, you can't call them homophobic, so you call them "skeptical".

When I was Pete's age, we knew about people like Pete, but we did NOT talk about it openly. It wasn't nice. We all knew what they ''did'' but we didn't talk about it because it wasn't nice. And it was not yet a cabin industry to make rainbow colored flags. Neither was writing news articles about it. Neither were there people kissing other similar situated people on the mouth, slipping the tongue. That wasn't nice. I really miss nice.

Democratic presidential candidate Elizabeth Warren tore into Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg for attending a previously undisclosed meeting with President Trump at the White House in October, accusing the tech billionaire of intentionally cozying up to the administration as his company faces increased scrutiny from regulators and Democratic lawmakers. "Amid antitrust scrutiny, Facebook is going on a charm offensive with Republican lawmakers," Warren wrote in a series of tweets on Thursday. "And now, Mark Zuckerberg and one of Facebook's board members—a major Trump donor—had a secret dinner with Trump. This is corruption, plain and simple." If elected next year

ATLANTA - As public impeachment hearings enter a second week, a majority of Americans have said their opinions on the impeachment of President Donald Trump were formed weeks ago, and many question whether anything will change when the process concludes. Presidential hopeful Pete Buttigieg's night-and-day campaigns in Iowa and South Carolina clearly show both why he's such a formidable opponent and also why he remains a longshot to win the nomination. In Iowa, he surged into first place after hitting Elizabeth Warren hard on how she would pay for her massive Medicare expansion. In South Carolina, he's navigating troubling accusations that his campaign grossly overstated black support for his sweeping platform for African Americans. Here's what it means in the short term. For the first time, he's going to have a target on his back when he walks onto the

Over the weekend, a new version came out, and it did not do very well, according to early accounts: "Charlie's Angels" ... wasn't able to entice its core audience of younger females and arrived well behind domestic box office projections (the studio was anticipating a start closer to $13 million). Though co-financing partners will help offset any potential losses for Sony, "Charlie's Angels" will now rely on overseas audiences to help recoup its $48 million production budget.
