Janet Jackson fans are not happy with the singer. They accused the star of lip-syncing during her RNB performance Friday night in Brisbane, Australia, and some walked out in protest. One fan told The Sunday Mail that the 53-year-old's set was a "disaster." "When Janet Jackson came on it was just a disaster," one attendee said. "Her sound was just terrible. She would be singing and then all of a sudden just do random stuff." Jackson was also slammed after similar things happened during a performance in Perth on Nov. 8.

I'm not sure why they're surprised; Janet has never been able to sing. Like Madonna, she's an entertainer, not a singer. Her beauty, sexuality, and the hype about her has waned, so people are just now noticing that she can't sing. Seriously?

There's always a 'wardrobe malfunction' when all else fails. You can only do so many moonwalks at 50+ years old before the audience gets bored.

Not much of a fan, though I thought Rhythm Nation did have some real merit. Long tours tend to feature some variation in performance quality, with the performers having some nights that just don't click together. By contrast to the shows being panned here, my friend Jeff waxed exuberant about JJ's recent show in SF, saying it turned his wife into a fan after years of sniping at him for being one.

Why serial killers kill 9 replies

How many serial killers are there? Since 1900, there have been 3,000 identified American serial killers who've collectively killed nearly 10,000 people, says Dr. Michael Aamodt, who oversees the Radford University/Florida Gulf Coast University Serial Killer Database. The FBI defines a serial killer as someone who kills two or more people in separate events. About 32 percent of these killers, Aamodt says, did so for enjoyment (thrills, lust, and power); 30 percent for financial reward; 18 percent in anger; 6.3 percent to advance a criminal enterprise; and fewer than 1 percent because a cult put them up to it. Their favorite murder weapon was a gun (42 percent), although 6 percent

So, while that human troll doll of an ambassador was back east dancing for Adam Schiff’s pleasure and I was out in a glitzy blue Los Angeles-area city at a nice restaurant to score some munchables and people were talking and chatting and interacting and how many were talking about impeachment? Here’s a hint: It’s the same number as the average dates per decade for a Weekly Standard writer. Just kidding – there is no such thing as a writer for the Weekly Standard because it destroyed itself by sucking. The number is “Zero.”

A Massachusetts judge, indicted for allegedly helping sneak an illegal alien out of a courtroom in order to avoid an Immigration and Customs Enforcement agent, is opting to fight the charges instead of accepting a plea deal. Federal prosecutors charged Shelley Joseph, a Newton District Court judge, with obstruction of justice in April for allegedly helping an illegal alien sneak through the backdoor of a courthouse, allowing him to evade an ICE officer who was waiting to apprehend him. Instead of taking a plea deal that would allow her to avoid prosecution, Joseph is preparing to go to trial.
Democrats to Israel: Go to Hell 11 replies

Last week, Israel once again faced a barrage of rockets from Gaza while most of the mainstream Democratic candidates whistled and looked away. Candidates don’t have to comment on every event happening around the world, but the silence of much of the Democratic field feels like more than passing disinterest. And when Vice President Joe Biden offered even a bland message of support for Israel that would have been unremarkable a few years ago, he got massive pushback from the left on Twitter. And it’s those activists on Twitter, and in the campus fever swamps, who shape the progressive conversation on Israel. It’s terrifying.

Henderson State University chemistry professors Terry Bateman, 45, and Bradley Rowland, 40, were charged Friday with the manufacture of methamphetamine and the use of drug paraphernalia, Fox 16 Little Rock reported. Students suspected meth may have been involved when a chemical spill closed the college’s science building in October for three weeks, the station reported.

Here's What Sugar Does to Your Brain 10 replies

We love sweet treats. But too much sugar in our diets can lead to weight gain and obesity, Type 2 diabetes and dental decay. We know we shouldn't be eating candy, ice cream, cookies, cakes and drinking sugary sodas, but sometimes they are so hard to resist. It's as if our brain is hardwired to want these foods. As a neuroscientist my research centers on how modern day "obesogenic," or obesity-promoting, diets change the brain. I want to understand how what we eat alters our behavior and whether brain changes can be mitigated by other lifestyle factors. Your body runs on sugar — glucose to be precise.

As Sen. Kamala Harris’ (D-CA) campaign for her party’s presidential nomination continues to implode, some in the media are looking for answers. ABC News shot first, asking if Harris “proof that America isn’t ready for a woman of color as president?” The article began with quotes from Harris making the argument herself. She had previously spoken about her “electability” several times, and in May she went ahead and wondered whether “America was ready for a woman and a woman of color to be president of the United State of America.” She made the claim on “The View.”

In the fall of 2015, a rash of posters appeared around Copenhagen. One, in pink letters laid over an image of chicken eggs, asked, “Have you counted your eggs today?” A second — a blue-tinted close-up of human sperm — inquired, “Do they swim too slow?” The posters, part of a campaign funded by the city to remind young Danes of the quiet ticking of their biological clocks, were not universally appreciated. They drew criticism for equating women with breeding farm animals. The timing, too, was clumsy: For some, encouraging Danes to make more babies while television news programs showed Syrian refugees trudging through Europe

Notably, the Post was clear that the whistleblower is male. "The analyst had served on the National Security Council

The Democratic presidential battle is on the brink of being blown apart as more candidates join the fray and voters continue to search for someone who can defeat President Trump. No one — including the top tier of Joe Biden, Elizabeth Warren and Bernie Sanders — has been able to close the deal with Democrats. Biden is too shaky and old, Warren and Sanders are too far left and South Bend, Ind., Mayor Pete Buttigieg is too inexperienced. That leaves a gaping opening for a newcomer like former Massachusetts Gov. Deval Patrick or potential candidate Michael Bloomberg or even Hillary Clinton. Using personality data from British and American participants, a team of experts tested regional levels of fear, anxiety and anger, comparing them to the traits historically correlated with political orientation. In the 50 US counties, there was a nine percent increase in Republican votes from 2012 to 2016 and those with the lowest fear and anxiety showed a shift of only 2 percent. Similar findings were uncovered in the 50 UK districts with the highest levels of fear and anxiety

CNN reports that in a private meeting this week, top Democrats conceded that the polls on impeachment were unlikely to shift, and that their basic message is failing to break through for huge swaths of Americans. This is very close to admitting that their ultimate goal, of removing president Trump from office will not be achieved. The reason this would mean game over for the removal effort is that only a significant uptick for impeachment in polling, especially among Republicans who have been rock solid in support of Trump, could lead to GOP votes to convict in the senate.

After unveiling his tip, Maher proceeded to advise his viewers to “never forget the single shining truth about democracy: it means sharing a country with a**holes you can’t stand.” Maher made it perfectly clear that he was talking about conservatives.

Law enforcement, witnesses, family members and even friends might misidentify a trans victim with the gender they were assigned at birth, rather than the gender identity the person lived by.
