David Gibson, co-owner of Gibson's Bakery in Oberlin, died Saturday after battling cancer for most of the year. The bakery announced his death on Facebook. The statement said he died at home in Oberlin, surrounded by his family. Gibson, 65, still was working in the bakery and helping customers at the family business as recently as this summer, even as he sought treatment for pancreatic cancer. Prayers, condolences and thoughts poured in from customers, friends, former employees and strangers on several Facebook posts Saturday.

Comments:

Heartfelt sympathy is extended to the Gibson family at this time of sadness and grief. David Gibson’s earthly journey has ended, and he is now at peace with our Lord. The Gibson family’s reputation and dignity have the admiration and respect of individuals who have followed the proceedings of their litigation with Oberlin College. “Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.” (Matthew 5:4)

Such a sad story for the entire family, not least his elderly father who was badly injured when Oberlin students went to his home. I sure hope the college is made to pay through the nose and to the moon for what they did to this good family. Ramona (the Pest)

Wasn't this the outcome that Oberlin was hoping for? Case over?

Prayers for his family. I'm thinking the stress he was under for the past few years had something to do with his cancer. He was, obviously, thought highly of - may his loved ones find comfort with their memories and find peace in the days ahead.

How sad. Condolences to the family. How pathetic is it when spoiled children make everyone else miserable to get their own way. Oberlin needs to pay up or close up.

# 2 - I wonder the same thing. However, I noted that the lawyers will get over $6 million in the reward from the jury. I doubt Oberlin is off the hook. At least I hope they aren't.

The college is in no way off the hook. The suit was between the bakery and the college. The bakery still exists. Even if it was between him personally and the college, his estate would still represent him until the situation concludes. Death will not save Oberlin from justice.

Oberlin will never over come the shame they piled upon their own house. They are indelibly an institution without honor.

Oberlin is a worthless institution, run by worthless people with no integrity. I hope they pay dearly for their arrogance.

If you are paying attention to the Washington circus that is the impeachment inquiry into President Trump's handling of the much maligned Ukraine call, this is what real collusion looks like: a media largely committed to advancing the goal of Democrats to severely damage or remove him from office, a series of at first private testimonies by people who appear to have similar motives and connections to Democrats and/or anti-Trump forces, and now a new book by "Anonymous," which claims the president has a bad attitude and is difficult to work with. Where to start? "Anonymous" is a self-admitted coward.

In January, 2016, Nikki Haley, who was then the first female governor of South Carolina, delivered the Republican response to Barack Obama’s final State of the Union address. She dutifully criticized the two-term President, trotting out a few G.O.P. talking points on the national debt, health-care reform, and the threat of terrorism. (Snip) When the interviewer, Norah O’Donnell, asked whether Trump would ultimately be impeached and removed from office, Haley’s reply was entirely dismissive. “No. On what?” she said. “You’re gonna impeach a President for asking for a favor that didn’t happen

The smear campaign against Gibson’s Bakery continues in interview during CBS Sunday Morning segment about the case. One of the most disturbing aspects of the Gibson’s Bakery v. It started not just during the protests and pre-litigation interactions that gave rise to the lawsuit, but in the Answer filed by the defendants in response to the lawsuit. CNN reports that in a private meeting this week, top Democrats conceded that the polls on impeachment were unlikely to shift, and that their basic message is failing to break through for huge swaths of Americans. This is very close to admitting that their ultimate goal, of removing president Trump from office will not be achieved. The reason this would mean game over for the removal effort is that only a significant uptick for impeachment in polling, especially among Republicans who have been rock solid in support of Trump, could lead to GOP votes to convict in the senate.

Until a month or so ago, virtually no one outside of the seven circles of hell that is the State Department had heard of Marie Yovanovitch. He had interviewed Ukrainian Prosecutor General Yuriy Lutsenko who told him that Yovanovitch gave him a "do not prosecute" list the first time he met with her. He was angered by her list which he justifiably saw it as interference in Ukraine's government. TAMPA — From the moment the NFL announced its hasty plan for a Colin Kaepernick workout this weekend, the questions have been flying. After all this time, why the sudden rush? Did some team request this? How many general managers will show up? Is this simply a ploy for atonement by the NFL? Yet, around here, a more important question needs to be asked: Can Kaepernick help the Buccaneers? It’s an interesting and legitimate question with, at this point, no clear answer. Kaepernick has not been in an NFL uniform in nearly three years so it’s worth wondering if his skills have atrophied.

The Ruling Class hates the lesser mortals who populate the realm they think they rightly rule. When Flyover Country forced Donald Trump on them as president, the outrage that was born of the initial shock grew into outright disdain for those put him into power. Senior Deep State bureaucrats like Peter Strzok and Lisa Page may be able to smell Trump supporters at Walmart, but for really intense class snobbery, there are few places that do it better than Harvard. At Harvard, few professors carry more political cachet than Laurence Tribe, who holds the title “University Professor,” (a very big deal at Harvard) and teaches constitutional law at Harvard Law School.
