Rep. Dan Bishop (R-NC) became the first member of Congress to publicly name the alleged “whistleblower,” whose second-hand complaint sparked the Democrats’ impeachment inquiry, on Twitter Monday evening. Bishop on Monday responded to a tweet from an individual who suggested that the GOP refrain from using the term “whistleblower,” instead referring to him as “the leaker” or “the operative” or “the deep state spy in the White House.” The North Carolina congressman said he agreed “100%,” noting that he refuses “to cower before the authoritarian intimidation campaign.” “He’s not Voldemort. And he’s not a bona fide whistleblower. Even if he were, he wouldn’t be entitled to secrecy.

Democrats Scramble, Switch Impeachment
Narrative to ‘Attempted’ Crimes After
Lackluster Hearing

Democrats have been scrambling following Wednesday’s lackluster public impeachment hearing, changing the focus of their impeachment narrative to “attempted” crimes after Republican lawmakers largely decimated their weak impeachment case. Wednesday’s public impeachment hearing, which featured testimonies from acting U.S. Ambassador to Ukraine Bill Taylor and senior State Department official George Kent, was deemed a bust by many, including Democrats. “It was a total disaster for us,” one senior House Democrat aide told Breitbart News. “It’s hearsay,” Rep. Jeff Van Drew (D-NJ) said of Taylor’s testimony. “It’s really difficult dealing with this because it’s he said-she said.” Neither of the bureaucrats who testified was able to outline a clear case of wrongdoing by the president,

President Donald Trump is asking the Supreme Court to block a subpoena for his tax returns, in a test of the president’s ability to defy investigations. The filing Thursday sets the stage for a high court showdown over the tax returns Trump has refused to release, unlike every other modern president. The justices also could weigh in more broadly on Trump’s claim that sitting presidents can’t be prosecuted or investigated for crimes. He wants the court to decide the case by late June, under a deal to keep the Manhattan district attorney from enforcing the subpoena in the meantime. The returns are held by Trump’s accountants.

Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) told Fox News’ Sean Hannity on Wednesday evening that he will call Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) to testify in the Senate if the House impeaches President Donald Trump. Graham added that he would not allow a trial of President Donald Trump in the Senate based on hearsay evidence alone, and without testimony from the “whistleblower.” Graham was speaking after the close of the first day of public hearings in the House Intelligence Committee as part of the “impeachment inquiry” authorized by Democrats in a House resolution that passed on party lines October 31. After the first two witnesses testified,

The New York Post released its Wednesday cover late on Tuesday night mocking Democratic House leaders ahead of their public impeachment hearings of President Donald Trump over his July 25 phone call with Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky. The cover shows House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff dressed as clowns and features the headline: “GUILTY! NOW FOR THE TRIAL…” Columnist Michael Goodwin writes that Schiff “takes his magic act public Wednesday as the impeachment hearings burst out of a Capitol Hill dungeon and onto television. Donald Trump’s presidency and the 2020 election likely hang on whether Schiff’s sleight of hand can survive the bright lights

Grammy Award-winning rocker Jon Bon Jovi is honoring veterans with his new song, entitled, “Unbroken.” Bon Jovi wrote the song for the new documentary, To Be of Service, which is about veterans living with PTSD and their service animals. “I was asked to write this song, and it was going to be a difficult task, because I haven’t served in the military, because the goal is honesty,” said Jon Bon Jovi on Monday to CBS This Morning hosts Gayle King and Tony Dokoupil. The singer noted that the song was written through the eyes of a veteran. Bon Jovi added that he spoke with the film’s director,

On Tuesday, former Secretary of State and 2016 Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton told BBC Radio 5 Live she was under “enormous pressure” to consider a 2020 White House run. When asked about her future in politics, Clinton said, “I feel a sense of responsibility partly because you know my name was on the ballot, I got more votes, but ended up losing to the current incumbent in the White House who I think is really undermining our democracy in very fundamental ways. And I want to retire him.” When asked if she is absolutely ruling out a 2020 run, Clinton said, “I, as I say never, never, never say never.

Steve Schmidt, John McCain’s 2008 presidential campaign manager, during Tuesday’s “Morning Joe” on MSNBC predicted former U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley could be on President Donald Trump’s ticket for reelection in 2020. Schmidt said Haley is “clearly angling for the job” with her new book “With All Due Respect,” adding Trump “has an enormous problem with women” that would be solved by the former South Carolina governor being his running mate. “It’s about currying favor. She wants to be vice president. She wants to be vice president on the Republican ticket in 2020,” Schmidt stated.

In the last century, scores of millions of defenseless civilians were slaughtered by totalitarian regimes that first disarmed them. Nazi Germany, the Soviet Union, Communist China, the Ottoman Turks, and several dozen other despotic regimes committed mass murder of millions upon millions. Historically, genocide follows confiscation of arms as surely as day follows night. In order to foster the deterrence of tyranny in American government, the Founders ratified the Second Amendment, acknowledging the unalienable right of the people to bear arms. House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff is taking his "Soviet-style" impeachment to another level. After first setting the House rules to allow himself alone to say which witnesses can appear before his committee hearings, now going public, he's now vetoing one by one pretty much every witness being called by the GOP to present some kind of defense of President Trump. Here's his list of eight who are being blocked by Schiff, via CNN's report on Mark Levin: In a letter to Schiff earlier Saturday, Republicans had listed the anonymous whistleblower, Hunter Biden, former US special envoy for Ukraine Kurt Volker, high-ranking State Department official David Hale and Tim Morrison,

I recently spoke with an old acquaintance, just out of government, who had worked in the Intelligence Community in Washington. The venue was a neighborhood party in a deep-blue area of the U.S., in one of the highest of high-income ZIP codes. As the lone conservative I tend to tread carefully in these discussions. However, I thought she might have a conservative bent, as she seemed to share my mistrust of government. When she first started working for the I.C., she told me she was waiting to meet "the adult in the room," as everyone she interacted with seemed clueless.

The 2020 Democrat presidential field is about to get locked by filing deadlines and that is making a lot of Democrats nervous. If you want to run for president, it is a 50 state process that requires filing papers and whatever else is required to get on the ballot. Alabama’s filing deadline passed last week. New Hampshire and Arkansas expire this week. The heavy hitters of Illinois, California, and Texas are just weeks away. Ohio and North Carolina arrive before Christmas. In other words, unless someone gets off the pot, the current 2020 crop of tired, old extremists is locked in forever. Which means one of them will face Trump in 2020,

By most everyone’s judgment, the Senate will not vote to remove President Donald Trump from office if the House impeaches him. But what if senators could vote on impeachment by secret ballot? Hillary Clinton has explained her reasoning for omitting Margaret Thatcher from new book about “gutsy” women. In response to the inquiry, Clinton, who lost the election that would have made her the first female president of the United States in 2016,
