There’s no doubt Kanye West has found religion. Listen to the musically arresting “Jesus is King,” and you’ll hear a powerful, positive case for a personal relationship with G-d. But will secular Americans heed his call?
Considering that we’re living in historically peaceful and prosperous times, it’s notable how misery stalks many Americans like a shadow. Countless government programs have tried to fix what ails us, at least since the Great Society got going, and it never quite works.
That’s why I’m hoping Kanye’s music will inspire more Americans to join his religious journey.

FTA: "I readily welcome any secular Jews back into our own religious fold."
So, a Jewish person recommends that secular non-Jews become Christian. But is not recommending that secular Jews do so. And is absolutely not encouraging non-Jews to take up Judaism.
One way to tell whether a deal is fair is to see if you would take either side of it. Rewrite this article and substitute the words Christian and Jew for one another, and see how it reads.

Strange that the writer, a practicing Jew, doesn't recommend Judaism to help, does recommend Jesus, but doesn't really explain why Jesus is preferable to Judaism.

It would be even better for Jews to have a Josiah moment, and READ their Torah.
Look it up.
They found the Law and read it for all the people!
Revival happened.
Could happen again.

Kanye, I know right-minded folks are willing to follow your lead, but, forget about the left and the unwashed. Obeyance to the state is their religion now.

"As a practicing Jew, I readily welcome any secular Jews back into our own religious fold. However, because Jews don’t proselytize, and most Americans have Christian roots, I’d like to humbly suggest that “nones” from that latter group consider returning to their own familial faith."
#3 & 4 above is what she said. She is not recommending Jews to convert, just whatever faith your roots are you should return to it. Christians being the majority in this country, also are the majorities of the "none" category she is encouraging them to return.

I am a Catholic. I have respect for other faiths. We should stay faithful to the faith we were born into or accepted a long the way, we would be better as a country. We all worship one God. Our country was founded on Judea Chrstian foundation. That is where we should be. Our country would be better off if we would fill our churches and synagogues once again.

Responding to ginadee, we do NOT worship one God. The God of Christianity is NOT the God of Islam.

While I am glad to see that she recognizes this country was founded on Christian values and religion, and that the Jews depend on us for their own survival, I just wish she would also recognize that historically speaking, the secular Jews have rushed to destruction in most any nation they have been a part of. So her giving me permission to have my Christian faith is just a little bit insulting and off putting today. Somebody needs to ask her if she and the rest of the observant Jews are willing to embrace Jesus.
They will treat you like you have suddenly grown a second head. Want Christianity and Judaism to flourish? Stop voting democrat. They are the death cult party, and they recognize nobody except themselves.

Yes 5, and read Zephaniah, prophet during Josiah's reign, when the greatest Passover occurred in Judah. A mere twenty years later, less than a generation later, Judah was marched naked to Babylon per God's promises of judgment. Zephaniah didn't share the same opinion about revivals as everybody else and he was spot on. Ezekiel described from Babylon, what was really going on in the Temple at that time as well. It was a "bad hair day" for Ezekiel just before God exited "stage East." I think if you read the exploits of Jehu in 2 Kings for the northern kingdom, especially after he got rid of all the false prophets and idol worshipers, you might find some similarities of what's going on today and that God isn't kidding, but that's just my opinion.

If more people would read the Bible from beginning to end, you get a fuller understanding. Especially a Life Application Bible or Study Bible. The footnotes really help with understanding what is going on. This is my two cents. . .

#3 and others, I think you may not understand some basic beliefs of Judaism. Jews do not seek converts. Jews do not consider Judaism a necessary path for non-Jewish people. Conversion is completely unnecessary.
Essentially any Noahadic religion is a fine path for a non-Jewish person, and since Maimonides, it's been all-but universally accepted by Jewish people that Christianity is a fine Noahdic religion that gives non-Jews the correct moral compass and a place in the World to Come.
Now, if you have a true desire to become Jewish, well, welcome to the Tribe. I'll go make sure the knife is clean and sharp.

Secularists see a correlation between carbon emission and “global warming” (climate change?) where there isn’t one, but can’t see the obvious correlation between the decline in morality in society and the decline in society’s participation in worship of God, where the demonstrable facts are clearly before us.

The founding fathers of this country realized that a republic could not survive if its citizens did not have moral underpinnings. While it is possible to be moral without religion, religion provides the foundation and support for morality. I give the author credit for recognizing that Christianity provides a good moral foundation even though he does not agree with all our beliefs.

#10, I was speaking about the God of Jews and Christians. I do not bring the God of Islam into my equation. For me, their God does not exist!!!!!

"This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief." The Apostle Paul's words in 1 Timothy 1:15. We need to be saved, we have a sin problem that only Christ can fix. It has nothing to do with religion, it has everything to do with a personnel relationship with Christ. Read about the repentant thief on the cross in Luke chapter 23. He owns his guilt, confesses Jesus as Lord, and the Lord takes him to paradise!

The continuation of the American Experiment is dependent upon another Great Awakening, and such a spiritual revival begins with us. Plan on attending services this weekend with your family. Invite a neighbor, friend or coworker to join you and perhaps a restaurant breakfast after services. People often ask me why I am so optimistic and upbeat. I proudly answer, "I'm happy to be Catholic." As St. Francis of Assisi taught, preach the Gospel at all times and use words only when necessary. Do not put your light under a bushel. Live life happily and with confidence, but most of all, invite the lost and lonely into your community.

Number 10, since Judaism, Christianity, and Islam are all monotheistic religions, we all believe in the one and only God (Allah is just Arabic for God). The difference is in what Mohammed told his followers that God expected of them, which is decidedly different from what Judeo-Christian belief and interpretation follows. So it's not a different God, it's a different prophet.

#22 is stating what is the commonly accepted belief of most Jewish people.
There is another line of thought among mainly Orthodox Jews, however, that Islam’s rejection of the Torah and (to Jewish people) patently false teachings brings it so out of the fold that “Allah” is not HaShem, the G-d of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, but rather nothing more than a false construct created by Mohammed.
This is directly in contrast to Nazarene teaching, which accepts the Torah as true and whose moral teachings (theological differences aside) are consistent with the Hillel school of thought.

In elementary school in the early 1950's I learned of the founding families of the USA and remembered that Jews were among those. I just re-read and article on AISH.com by Rabbi Ken Spiro, written Dec 8, 2001, ''History Crash Course #55: Jews and the Founding of America.'' Your American education isn't complete unless you know of these people.

Taking prayer out of school was a major mistake for this country. And I want to remind you-one woman did it.
We all need a higher power to believe in and trust. Christians and Jews both believe in G-d.

Interesting comments! Jesus Christ was a Jew and taught in the synagogues. He is also God and our Messiah from the lineage of David as prophesied thousands of years before His coming. He is the only prophet who completed our salvation for us through His death and resurrection! Turn to him and become His! This life is very short, but eternity is really long! Spend it with Jesus who calls you to his side through His word (the Bible). Faith in him alone, apart from doing anything is all that is required! And that faith is a gift!
