Gov. Andrew Cuomo upped his histrionics on the Long Island natural-gas crisis Tuesday, formally threatening to revoke the license of National Grid, the utility that has stopped taking new gas customers. The company says it can’t take on new commitments because Cuomo (followed by Jersey Gov. Phil Murphy) blocked construction of a new pipeline. That new-hookups moratorium, the gov insists, “is either a falsified device or a lack of competence.” That is, National Grid either doesn’t need the pipeline — or is still at fault because it didn’t find some other way to assure supply. Yet it never should have needed a Plan B:

After 72 years, I'm leaving my home state California by this Spring. Where I drop anchor won't be in New York.

We saw this yesterday.
The econazis block the new natural gas pipeline and then blame the company because it can't provide more supply of natural gas. They really are insane, and they must think that people are exceptionally stupid to not see through to who actually is causing the shortage of natural gas.....at a time when there is lots and lots of natural gas available due to modern directional drilling and fracturing methods.
And, of course, NY state in their infinite stupidity, bans "fracking" so that helps create a local shortage of natural gas supply, too.
Leftists and econazis aren't happy until you are freezing in the dark - and yet people still vote to freeze in the dark.

When you vote for incompetents, you get incompetency. I'm surprised that Gov. Cuomo is concerned about gas hookups. In San Francisco they are prohibiting new gas hookups.

This is such typical Democrat behavior. They create a problem by their policies, but always blame someone else for those problems. Calif is another perfect example with their fires and PG&E being blamed for it when in fact PG&E was prevented from clearing out brush etc below their lines. Democrats are just corrupt scum.

Adding to #2's post, the Marcellus Shale, loaded with natural gas, runs through western Pa and Western NY. Western Pa, fracking without consequence, is doing really well. Cuomo has banned fracking in NY state.
I say let them eat ice cubes in NYS. We Pennsylvanians scoff at them.

What?! There's nothing BUT natural gas coming out of Coomo.

Waaayyy back in 1976 or 1977, Geico wanted an increase in its auto insurance rates in NJ, given the rampant criminality in the auto repair businesses in that state. The appropriate agency in NJ said, "No."
Geico's response is worth remembering -- "Where do we drop off our license to do business in this state?"
They left. I, and hundreds of thousands of others, had to find a different auto insurance carrier.
With all the troubles that NY is giving it, National Grid might enjoy having its license revoked. They should require a handsome fee for anyone else to use their facilities. A very handsome fee. "What would it cost you to build a network, today? That's our fee."

National Grid should just SUE, as NYS Government is threatening to fine them for not 'doing the impossible'. Explain to me how a Governor has the power to act like Cuomo is. There are agencies in every State that oversee utilities.

Even the dimbulbs know that a pipeline will only flow so much gas. Need more, you need a bigger or an added pipeline.
This is stuff any bright 6 year old can handle.....but not the Dems.
And, yes, #5, thanks for the added details, I knew that there was a near guarantee of natural gas in western NY state, but they are not permitted to get to it. Laugh at them as they freeze, and pay lots and lots more for what they do get.
And keep voting for MORE of the same.
