Former Soviet Leader Mikhail Gorbachev
Reveals Who Was Responsible
for Country's Collapse

Original Article

Gorbachev became General Secretary of the Soviet Union in 1985, and served as the first and only president of the USSR between 1990 and 1991, after which the country ceased to exist. Former Soviet leader Mikhail Gorbachev has revealed to German news magazine Der Spiegel who he believed was responsible for the collapse of the USSR, explaining that the members of the government who attempted to organise a coup against him and then-Russian republic leader Boris Yeltsin were the chief culprits. “Those who organized the coup in August 1991, and who took advantage of the weakened position of the president of the USSR, are responsible for the end of perestroika

Comments:

If you read this, Gorbachev is blaming a "coup" against him. Sound familiar? Bueller?

Franklin's 'If you can keep it' certainly applies - the Soviets clearly could not and shy a miracle from heaven aren't likely to get the chance again. Power in the hands of evil men unopposed by an armed and educated populace is a bad tell. I think it God sent that Trump defeated Hillary. The USA could yet follow the Soviets down a rat hole. Pray we do not.

Two unnamed men, who are greatly responsible for the end of the "evil empire," are Polish Solidarity Union Leader, Lech Wałęsa and President Ronald Reagan. Lech swung the sledge hammer that fractured the wall from within, and President Reagan through his much maligned "Star Wars" initiative financially bankrupt the failing Soviet state. Both collapsed heir rotten framework. The Soviet peak was 1959, and thereafter was failing. Their actions were invaluable to toppling the structure.

As I recall, prior to the fall of the Soviet Union, there was an earlier attempted coup by the deep state, the old guard Communists to overthrow Gorbachev because they thought his perestroika and glasnost had gone too far. Once the popular revolution lead by Yeltsin got underway, I read that the KGB switched sides and refused to put down the revolution.

Communism is responsible for the collapse. It failed, fell out of the sky, crashed into the ground. The aftermath is a Russia with a population 25% of what it would have otherwise have been.

The Trump administration has ruled that gun shops are considered “essential” businesses that should remain open as other businesses are closed to try to stop the spread of coronavirus. Gun control groups are balking, calling it a policy that puts profits over public health after intense lobbying by the firearms industry. Italian engineers are making ventilators out of diving masks and fitting them with 3D-printed respiratory valves in an inventive plan to keep hospitals supplied at the height of the coronavirus crisis. A Brescia-based startup firm has offered the contraptions for free to local hospitals in the region of Lombardy which is at the centre of Europe's worst virus outbreak. The crucial part of the equipment is the 3D-printed 'Venturi valve', a device named after 18th-century physicist Giovanni Battista Venturi which connects the mask to an oxygen tube. As we reported two days ago, Joe Biden completely made no sense when he was trying to explain the Wuhan coronavirus relief bill. It was really bad and it explains why they’re afraid to have him deliver an address to Congress or do any kind of a real solo press conference, because at this point they have to be afraid this is all going to fall apart if he does anything live and this all becomes too obvious to the American people. But there’s only so long that they can hold this off. And it’s getting worse, as video today revealed. Biden was holding an event to announce the nomination

I’m probably second to none in my dislike for Meghan Markle. There’s something unattractive about a mature woman marrying into the British Royal family with one of the world’s most expensive weddings, hanging out with the Queen, living in insane luxury…and then whining non-stop about the horror of her life. There’s something even less appealing when that woman accuses the Royal family of race hatred. And the problem is that, when it comes to that left-wing diva, Meghan Markle, it’s hard to believe most of what she says. After weeks of hype, CBS finally televised Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s interview with Oprah.
