The announcement last Thursday that popular veteran Fox News reporter Catherine Herridge would be leaving the channel the following day – and moving to a new job as Senior Investigative Correspondent at CBS News later this month – took both viewers and media watchers by complete surprise. On the heels of the declaration three weeks earlier by prominent Fox News Channel news host Shepard Smith during his afternoon program that he would be leaving the channel that same day, the news about Herridge occasioned an immediate wealth of wild speculation by pundits weighing in with their opinions about what her departure means for the future of Fox News.

It's a shame she's leaving. A real journalist, not a Fox bimbo.

Can't wait to see FOX biting at CNN's and MSNBC's ankles in the ratings cellar.

After the FNC morning show, on weekdays and on weekends the FNC is crawling with liberal Democrats and Never Trumpers and is pretty unwatchable, especially if you don’t want to watch replays on the fake news networks video clips.

FOX took a left turn at the same time they dropped the hook, "Fair & Balanced"... Or about the time Murdoch's brats took it over... and let's not forget about the "Mole" (Rat) Paul Ryan who now sits on the Board.

I’m thinking that CBS purchased Herridge just to hurt what’s left of Fox and take her out of circulation. If she gets any air time I’ll be surprised.

As an observation from regularly viewing Tucker and Sean, there appears to be a lack of national advertisers on these high rated shows, which may explain why Fox let Catherine Herridge leave. National advertisers such Ford, Apple and P&G may be under Democrat pressure not spend ad dollars on these conservative shows, so Herridge had to be sacrificed.
Another observation is that while Apple appears to shun Rush, Mark Simone and other conservative radio shows, the hosts spend far too much time shilli;g for the later iPhone, with Rush slavish over Apple even though the company loathes his political and cultural views. Is Apple paying these shows for comments as a form of indirect advertising? Payola of the early 1960s have returned due to fear of the left.

Catherine Herridge is tireless and a straight shooter but I agree with the author, the tireless one may be getting tired. To work as a reporter for this long and to be so good at what she did was very demanding. I hope she can be effective at CBS. Good luck and best wishes Catherine.

I read that she said facts matter. So why is she going to CBS.. they make up their own facts. The only fact she cares about is what her paycheck is. CBS, FOX, ABC, NBC......all the same. All show business news.

We do not watch Fox News except for Tucker Carlson. While I do not want to hear news I always agree with, I also do not want to listen to leftist propaganda either. Frankly, the televised news is awful. Even local stations cannot prevent their political biases being aired during hard news segments. I am sick of it and get most of my news online. I refuse to be indoctrinated by the painted ladies and puffed and fluffed fops pretending to present the news.
Catherine Herridge was different, respected and reliably apolitical. I don’t see how that plays out at CBS, but I wish her the very best.

Fox has already swung left. I am noticing it in the one and only Fox program we ever watch - Harris Faulkner’s Overtime, which we record and edit with our remote. She surprised is a day or so ago by giving a Leftie a real argument. Maybe there’s hope?
As for Herridge, I have thought she was truthful. Not particularly biased right or left. But the truth would have made her lean right, wouldn’t it...

Fox’s Leland Vittert is their male Alisyn Camerota. He is as dumb as a post and has decided his schtick is to be a wild-eyed raving Liberal. We saw him by accident the other Saturday morning. He is also nearly 40, not a kid, so time is passing him by. Mercifully they seem to limit him to Saturday morning. How many watch TV then? We don’t usually...

She’ll probably Atkisson out of CBS before long, too. Fox kept trying to “pretty her” up, forcing her to smile, etc, when it looked like all she wanted to do was investigate and report. She’ll end up at the Federalust in 2 or 3 years.

Now this is a ridiculous article. The headline asks: Does Catherine Herridge Leaving for CBS
News Portend a Left Turn for Fox News?
In his rather lengthy piece, Chowka basically answers: Nobody knows.
So we have a piece that gives us zero information. I call that a waste of time, no matter how much I respect Herridge.

Chris Wallace is the worst of the worst on Fox, with that odd smirk (it looks a lot like Hillary's smirk) and stupid, argumentative questions.

Sorry to see Catherine leave. You could always count on her for accurate reporting and a professional manner. Leaving to go to the old Tiffany network, at least CBS is a tad better than the other two vile networks. Will Jennifer Griffin be next to leave?

How does a "reliable and reputable" news source explain hiring some one from an "unreliable and source of ill repute"?

I wish her the best, but I don't see how Catherine Herridge's move can work out for her at CBS. Catherine's reputation is impeccable as a straight shooter and, like Sharyl Attkisson before her, I can't see how her drive for honest reporting can possibly mesh with CBS's drive to the left. I do wish her luck....with significant reservations for achieving long term success.

Maybe this is a clue that CBS wants to provide a conservative outlook, which would be a wise move on their part, although the chances of that are about as remote as Juan Williams saying something intelligent.

"Portend"???? It has already happened. O-Reilly fired, Ailes fired, Bolling, lots more. And bringing in Traitor RINO Ryan on the board was the total giveaway, Fox is turning left, has been doing it for years.

Maybe at least now she'll get her much deserved Pulitzer.
They could never give it to her while she was at Fox.
She should've had two or three Pulitzers by now.
Herridge has the sources. Go girl!
