A heavily pregnant woman used an AR-15 to kill a home intruder after two masked men entered her home in Florida, pistol whipped her husband and violently grabbed their daughter. Jeremy King, from Lithia in Florida, was at home with his wife when the two armed men stormed in last Wednesday at about 9pm before pointing a gun at his head and demanding money. Police say the suspects grabbed the couple's 11-year-old daughter as King tried to explain they didn't have anything that was worth giving them. King told Bay News 9 that one of the men then started pistol-whipping

Attagirl! And pregnant too! Good job protecting your kin. Remember when Biden advised women to "get a shotgun"? No way could a heavily pregnant woman safely handle a shottie in the heat of the moment like this.

Excellent shooting, mame. We mother bears are not to be messed with. If with this weapon an 8 months pregnant woman can with one bullet alone put down an armed criminal threatening her family, I defy anyone to say it is not useful for self defense.

The goal isn't to "even the playing field." You brought deadly force into someones home and met a more deadly force, sorry, bad decision you loose. I'm a little surprised that there wasn't more said regarding the shooting of someone who was fleeing. Trust me, in my opinion when someone is forced into flight or flight by a legitimate deadly threat, nobody should dare question why they made the decisions they made under those circumstances. I'm just a bit surprised that the armchair lefties wouldn't expect her to hold her fire once the threat was running of to do laundry.

#6, the answer to the source of your surprise is that most lefties are well aware that an 8 month pregnant woman is a more sympathetic figure than ANY picture they can possibly paint of the fleeing thug. If the husband had been the shooter, they quite likely would have tried to portray the perpetrator as a poor, troubled, misunderstood individual.

Lithia is a small town east of Tampa, inhabited mostly by good country people. The home invaders were armed with pistols, and were getting the better of the husband when the wife struck the Old Testament blow with the family AR. In chess a queen beats two knaves (knights). In firepower, a .223 Remington with twenty rounds on board beats pistols almost every time, and is much easier to aim than a handgun. One must wait one's turn, however. If the bad guy's already got the drop on you and is looking at you, that's not the time to draw. If an armed bad guy turns his back on you, that's the time to pop him, if you can. FTA: "Them guys came in with two normal pistols and my AR stopped it,” King said. “[My wife] evened the playing field and kept them from killing me." The only antidote to a bad person(s) with a gun is a good person with a gun, preferably a sport rifle like an AR in a worst case scenario like the one in the present article. You don't have to be Annie Oakley to defend yourself with an AR. Luckily for the husband, the wife knew how to use the rifle, and both parents will be present for the upcoming birth. Good for them, and blessings to them and their child. Uniformed law enforcement will never be present when a violent crime is committed. (No, even idiotic criminals aren't that stupid.) Your first--and possibly last--line of defense is yourself. Can you defend hearth and home? On average, the police are six or seven minutes away after receiving your 911 call. Having not only firearms but multiple potential armed defenders, including gun educated teen-aged children, under your roof might mean the difference between life and death.

FTA: King's wife only fired one round from the AR-15, which struck the suspect as he tried to flee. --- I thought if you pull trigger on an AR-15 it automatically shot numerous rounds? She gets off one round and hits target. Nice shooting.

Well done, madam. One shot from the AR-15 fired, one dead criminal. Top marks for the lady. And, no offense against Mr. and Mrs. King, but that is a pretty tiny, ordinary house, and I believe Mr. King when he says "we didn't have anything that was worth giving them". As I often say about violent criminals, "They didn't choose this line of work because they were extra smart." That "high capacity rapid fire" AR-15......fired one shot. Says something about good marksmanship.

A federal judge Wednesday blocked the Trump administration’s rule allowing healthcare workers to refuse to provide abortions—and other procedures—that violate their religious beliefs. The administration’s rule was set to take effect this July but the Health and Human Services Department delayed the effective date to Nov. 22 after the “conscience” rule, which is aimed at protecting religious or moral objections to various medical procedures, was challenged in court by more than a dozen states. Judge Paul Engelmayer, an Obama appointee, sided against the Trump administration. “Contrary to HHS’s depiction of it as mere housekeeping, the rule relocates the metes and bounds

Sea level rise is set to challenge human civilization for centuries to come, even if internationally agreed climate goals are met and planet-warming emissions are then immediately eliminated, researchers have found. The lag time between rising global temperatures and the knock-on impact of coastal inundation means that the world will be dealing with ever-rising sea levels into the 2300s, regardless of prompt action to address the climate crisis, according to the new study. Even if governments meet their commitments from the landmark 2015 Paris climate agreement, the first 15-year period of the deal will still result in enough emissions
