Proponents of daylight saving time – which ends at 2 a.m. Sunday – argue that it gives more daylight hours after a workday and decreases energy consumption. But the negatives far outweigh any positives.
It’s time to get rid of daylight saving time once and for all.
Daylight saving time (DST) was first proposed as a way to have longer evenings of light in the summer. At 2 a.m. Sunday most of your smartphones will automatically turn their clocks back an hour, giving you a precious extra hour of sleep. But come March, when DST returns, you will be moving your clocks an hour forward – losing an hour of sleep.

Only government fools could argue that cutting six inches of fabric off the end of a blanket, then sewing it to the other end, gives you a longer blanket.

Move the bloody clocks by 1/2 hour and leave them.

As the farmers in Iowa say- " I'm not sure if I'm for it or not but it sure is good for the corn".

I have yet to hear anyone in person complain about DST yet twice a year we are guaranteed to see a deluge of strident and farcical articles giving lame arguments why it should be eliminated. If the "the negatives far outweigh any positives" then why is there not any groundswell of opposition from everyday folks.
It is really simple. In the summer the hour of daylight is much more beneficial in the evening than at 4 or 5 am. How many lives are saved by better visibility during peak traffic conditions? Are not bikers, bicyclists, runners and pedestrians better off too?
If an one hour shift causes someone to have a myocardial infarction(heart attack), then they are probably not long for this earth anyway.

Yeah the kids walking or standing at school bus stops in the dark are much better off. And the adults rushing to work with coffee or cell phones (or both) in their hands zipping by the kids don't even see them. The dark really helps.

Since I am not a morning person, I could care less about how much light there is at 6 in the morning. I just want some daylight left when I get home from work, so I can get some things done around the home and yard. DST seems to be the normal daylight hours to me, and both my wife and I hate it when we have to turn our clocks back in the Fall.

If everyone wants more daylight in the evening, make it permanent! Stop changing clocks twice a year.

I cross the Atlantic frequently. The idea that it takes a week to recover from a one-hour adjustment is ludicrous. The only argument against DST that holds water is kids at the bus stop in the morning. But then, DST was supposed to be for the summer. Maybe we start it too early and end it too late, but for me DST can't come soon enough.

Texans don't need any more light in the evening. It's a 100 degrees outside. Pray for the sun to set.

Yes, it's time for the bi-annual moaning and whining about Daylight Savings to commence. We've all lived with it all of our lives and should be accustomed to it by now. It's fine and I have no problem with it, so here's some words of wisdom: Let It Be.

Every single year the kvetching begins, but like #8 I have never heard anyone complain. Most seem to prefer that extra daylight at the end of the day. I don’t believe our kids stand around in the dark waiting for school buses (and kids would almost rather play in the dark than in daylight, so that argument is full of holes). The business about taking forever to painfully adjust is also specious. If that is the case, one should never leave their time zone, let alone travel abroad …
All in all the most boring thing is the talk about it. Pretty much the same people and the same cliches like that one about the blanket...

Correction to #11. Meant to refer to #4, not #8.

I like Daylight Savings time. I enjoy very much having more light in the evenings in the summer months. Say what you want, I love it and will always support it.
I am surprised how angry and sour people get at such a small thing. Really unbecoming.

I'm just glad that none of the current crop of dunderhead, sure-loser Democrats running for President has realized that promising to eliminate daylight savings time just might turn everything around and get you elected. Hmmm, Trump should do it by executive order. It would make him unimpeachable.

Umm, yes kids do wait for the school bus in the dark. But I chalk that up to the rigors of having to pick up kids super early to get them to the huge kiddie warehouses we call schools on time. I don't fault standard time or the switch.

I prefer the current daylight savings time system. With year round daylight savings, in the winter, it is dark until well past 7am and depressing; with standard time in the summer it is light out before 5am and hard to sleep in. With daylight savings as currently used it balancing things out nicely. Having longer daylight hours in the summer when we can actually use them during vacations is better. It takes at best a day or two to get used to the change.
