Tim Morrison, the top Russia and Europe adviser on President Trump’s National Security Council, on Thursday corroborated the testimony of a senior U.S. diplomat who last week offered House impeachment investigators the most detailed account to date for how Trump tried to use his office to pressure Ukraine to investigate former vice president Joe Biden, according to people familiar with his deposition. Morrison told impeachment investigators that the account offered by William B. Taylor Jr., the acting ambassador to Ukraine, is accurate. He said that he alerted Taylor to a push by Trump and his deputies to withhold both security

From another article that was posted: The White House’s top official for European affairs told Congress on Thursday that he was not concerned that “anything illegal” was discussed during the July 25 phone call between President Trump and his Ukrainian counterpart that is at the center of Democrats’ impeachment inquiry.“I want to be clear, I was not concerned that anything illegal was discussed,” the official, Timothy Morrison, said in an opening statement reviewed by the Daily Caller News Foundation. And, Vindman was concerned with all the people poking around Ukraine, presumably because they were looking into what happened in prior administrations, both in US and Ukraine. Also, presume that they may uncover the corruption, and election interference that was to benefit Hillary.

His testimony is nothing more than a policy disagreement between the Department of State and the NSC. There has always been tension between State and the NSC, but Schiff is selling it and the WaPo is buying it as an argument for impeachment.

#9 is correct on tension between NSC and State. The exception to that was Henry Kissinger, who held both positions - Secretary of State and National Security Adviser, simultaneously during Nixon's second term. It was a demand he made to stay on for the second term.

I am amazed at the amount of people who worked IN the White House and who are now throwing away their Career by letting the Democrats use them. It's clear that Trump didn't do anything wrong, but Schiff is trying to make a Silk Purse out of a Sow's Ear by twisting every testimony he gets. This guy was stupid for giving up a good job just to get his name on TV!

There is a reason the telephone game is such fun. It shows that second and third hand hearsay of someone's opinion is unreliable and should not be used to determine facts in a case. The facts are that the Ukrainian President Zelensky was asked to cooperate with the US Attorney General investigation of corruption related to the 2016 attempt to smear Trump. He was not even aware that any aid was pending so there could not be anything improper about the request. Trump was aware of the previously published articles on Biden's bribery to force the firing of the prosecutor and had also seen what Giuliani had received from the Ukrainian officials on Biden. The information was acquired before Biden was even a candidate so it didn't pertain to the 2020 election in any way. If Trump was going to use the evidence against Biden he didn't need the Ukrainians to do anything.

Trump could name hundreds of incidents where Presidents did pro quo, it’s part of government. Even if he wanted an investigation of Biden , Biden was not running in 2016 so Biden was not his opponent in 2016. This is about the Obama years & the dems are making it about 2020. If Mueller had done a complete investigation instead of a one sided investigation Trump wouldn’t need to be investigating.

President Donald Trump's business is back in the spotlight. Less than a week after the President reversed course on his plan to host next year's G-7 at his Trump National Doral Miami in Florida, reports surfaced that his company plans to sell its DC Hotel, which has been the subject of several lawsuits alleging the President is profiting from it in violation of the Constitution. Trump's defense is that he says he's put his business "stuff" in a trust and that his family runs it. As of 2018, the President held more than $130 million in foreign assets in this trust, according to an analysis compiled by Open Secrets.

For decades, Republicans and Democrats fought over the same things: whose values and policies work best for American democracy. But now, those age-old fights are changing. What was once run-of-the-mill partisan competition is being replaced by a disagreement over democracy itself. This is particularly evident as the president and many of his allies crow about the illegitimacy of the House impeachment inquiry, calling it an attempted coup, and as the White House refuses to comply with multiple congressional subpoenas as part of the probe. This marks a new phase in American politics. Democrats and Republicans might still disagree about policy,

President Trump deserves credit for mentioning the names of ISIS leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi's American victims at the Sunday press conference following his death, said CNN host Jake Tapper.  Al-Baghdadi, who took over as the head of ISIS after his predecessor, Abu Omar al-Baghdadi, was killed in 2010, detonated a suicide vest as U.S. special forces closed in. Troops were sent to attack a compound in northern Syria where al-Baghdadi was located, according to a U.S. defense official.

After two years, President Trump's tax cuts are not on track to pay for themselves, the latest Treasury data released Friday suggest. Total federal government revenues ended up lower in 2019 than was projected before the passage of the GOP tax overhaul in 2017. Then, in 2017, the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office projected that fiscal 2019 revenues, without the tax cuts, would be $3.69 trillion. Instead, revenues with the tax cuts were only $3.46 trillion.

President Donald Trump can certainly take a victory lap for the operation that killed the leader of ISIS, Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi. Prior to his death, Baghdadi had declared ISIS a "caliphate," as his terrorist army stormed across Syria and Iraq, seizing territory the size of Portugal and ruling over some 8 million subjects. At Trump's Sunday news conference, he said the ISIS leader was also personally responsible for the death of American aid worker Kayla Mueller. This appears to be the first official US acknowledgment of Baghdadi's role in her death, as ISIS had claimed that she had died in a Jordanian airstrike in 2015.

House committees are trying to determine if President Donald Trump violated his oath of office by asking a foreign country to investigate a political opponent. Trump and his aides have largely ignored the details of the Ukraine allegations against him. Instead, they’re loudly objecting to the House Democrats’ investigation process. I’m probably second to none in my dislike for Meghan Markle. There’s something unattractive about a mature woman marrying into the British Royal family with one of the world’s most expensive weddings, hanging out with the Queen, living in insane luxury…and then whining non-stop about the horror of her life. There’s something even less appealing when that woman accuses the Royal family of race hatred. And the problem is that, when it comes to that left-wing diva, Meghan Markle, it’s hard to believe most of what she says. After weeks of hype, CBS finally televised Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s interview with Oprah.
