Former California Governor Jerry Brown told Congress on Tuesday that President Donald Trump and the Republican Party were responsible for the ongoing California fires because of their opposition to drastic climate change policies. “California’s burning while the deniers make a joke out of the standards that protect us all,” Brown told the House Oversight Committee on Tuesday, as quoted by the San Francisco Chronicle. “The blood is on your soul here and I hope you wake up. Because this is not politics, this is life, this is morality. … This is real.”

The REAL problem is that Trump is not a god who controls the climate. The climate in this nation is now owned by the peope who kill unborn children, and, as I recall, Jerry Brown is one of them. Do you think the real God is going to let us off the hook?

Whatever a Dem accuses you of doing....you know the rest. This debacle is the result of listening to crackpot environmentalists who advocated against forest management, against removing deadwood, compounded by poor water management...failing to take into accoiunt increasing populations without a corresponding increase in water supply while simultaneously curbing water access for farmers in order to save habitat for obscure species like river smelts that are doomed anyway because of the system of levee's put in place decades ago. The inmates run the asylum in California.

The Democratic clowns running California screw up their state good, then blame everybody but themselves. They refuse to approach issues with a common sense view and then wonder why their state is overrun with diseased homeless, garbage piled in the streets, urine and feces on sidewalks, and smart usage of wildlife and nature area's. When their state is on fire, often because they did not do the work to clear out brush and dead trees, its Trumps fault. Everything is somebodies fault other than their own. You vote for 1 party rule you get inbred idiots running the political and agencies that are supposed to safeguard the citizens, to provide safe cheap energy, and to protect the middle and lower classes instead of the richie riches and their million dollar mansions values.

It must be true. Because if W had signed the Kyoto Accords California would not have Santa Ana winds and rain/snow would only fall in perfect volume and timing. There would be no droughts. The world would live in peace. The Great Sahara would once again be a lush forest. Israel would be in harmony with all of Islam and God would remove the angel guarding us from the Garden of Eden.

Fires like these have been naturally occuring in California for hundreds of years. On another note, I will never miss the opportunity to point out that the etymology of the word "California" is actually from "caliph" or "kalif" from the muslim word. (In the chapter of the book which originally mentions the word "California," Queen Califia joins forces with a few other caliphs to do battle against an aggressor)

The fires up north were probably set by the crazy who traveled all the way from Missouri to set fires here.
The Getty Museum area fire was started by a branch that blew off of a eucalyptus tree, located well outside the power company’s clearing area which was greater than that required. That one branch hit a power line and caused it to arc.
Jerry Brown needs to go back to sleep.

The DOJ must be getting real close to exposing his cronies in that bullet train to nowhere fast scam during his governorship. He already admitted that an angry Trump was right. Cali has misspent Fed dollars for decades instead of on forestry management as it was intended. This is all on Cali/Sacramento/Democrats. You built it Kiddies. The fires are brush fires. Grass fires that ignite brush. Not what most would call “forest fires”. We do have those from time to time, but these are in the wide open hilly areas in California.
The fire at Getty Museum area was caused by one eucalyptus tree branch that was blown off by the high wind and carried at least 30’ to a power line where it caused it to arc. Clearance had been done in the area in accordance with the power company’s specifications, which exceed the “legal” specifications. Fire officers declared it an “accident”.
Remarks about forest management, clearance and all that, are not appropriate in the case of these wildfires.

What does it take to create a fire, jerry? Heat, fuel, and oxygen. Take any of those away and there is no fire. Hopefully, we will always have oxygen, and those winds spreading the California fires have always been there. They act surprised every year when the fires spread so quickly. Heat can be supplied by any spark, campfire, or arsonist. We have massive fires every year because of only one thing. Massive amounts of fuel, which environmental policies will not allow to be removed. It has nothing to do with non-existent climate change. How many of the poor little endangered animals are killed and habitats destroyed by these fires? If you only look at the results of their policies, the millions of acres of forests burned and the animals killed, you would have to come to the conclusion that these people hate nature.

Brown is wrong. Well before automobiles and smog, Los Angeles was once considered "Hell" due to the choking smoke present through most of the summer and fall created by lightning ignited fires burning in the hills around the basin. The Spaniards called the brush chaparro (now Chaparral) after the oak woodlands of Spain. (To the Spaniards and many people today the Chaparral or woody scrub oak growing on California hillsides looks like forest.) The original settlers, now thought of as native Americans used burning to control the the land. When the Europeans arrived they also used burning or clearing to make the land more suitable for grazing and growing and to prevent wildfire since Chaparral burns really really well. They also cut existing forests which were often replaced by the tough woody Chaparro. More recently ecologists fought to save the lovely brush, for example see "Chaparral, Once Seen as Useless, Ecologists Now Fight to Restore California's Chaparral by Susan Valot".
In the more recent past the brush was burned and/or cleared, often by local ranchers or local fire departments, particularly near towns and villages, native grasses grew and were grazed by livestock reducing the fire risk. (Yes, dry grass burns very very well and fast, but the fire is far easier to extinguish than a Chaparral fire.) Additionally, fire trails (jeep trails) in both the brush and forest areas were everywhere and were maintained so well that a passenger car could easily traverse them in the summer and fall. Now the roads are cabled off, eroded and/or choked with thick brush and/or fallen trees in forested areas to protect California's pristine natural environment (you know the one that was burned for millennia by the Euro-Asians that crossed the land bridge and burned, logged, and mined everywhere by recent European immigrants).
So now the fire trails are impassable and the wildland hillsides are choked with brush, protected by "Environmentalists" from California's enlightened urban areas and the rest of California burns. So yes, Jerry and all his ilk that are primarily at fault, not climate change or a wrathful deity.
As an aside, I talked with people who drive and ride big trucks that have hoses and ladders and stuff, some of whom spent a lot of time in Paradise last year, and they are united in telling me that the houses where the brush and other flammables were cleared were the one they were able to save.

What a crock. It was mostly the fault of Leftist environmental policy that caused the buildup of combustible fuel to levels that could facilitate such cataclysmic burns, by mandating that all wildfires be extinguished and banning the process of clearing underbrush from national and state forests. Thanks to that, the natural process through which the combustibles are burned annually was suspended for decades.
