Rock legend Bruce Springsteen took aim at President Trump in a new interview Friday, saying the president doesn't "grasp" the meaning of being an American.
In an interview on "CBS This Morning," host Gayle King asked Springsteen about a recent Trump rally in which the president bragged that his election victory in 2016 was accomplished without the support of celebrities like Springsteen, Beyoncé and Jay-Z. "You surprised that he's trash-talking you after all this time?" King asked.
"Not really. Anything's possible," the New Jersey musician responded.
King noted that "a lot of people are very concerned about the direction of the country," with Springsteen agreeing that it's a "very frightening time" in America.

Bruce “Da Moose” Sprungstone is quite the piece of work, as they say in Jolly Ole Angleland where he fits in much better!
A true-blue American he ain’t.

Oh Dear!, now I'm totally confused.
FTA: president bragged that his election victory in 2016 was accomplished without the support of celebrities like Springsteen, Beyoncé and Jay-Z. "You surprised that he's trash-talking you after all this time?" King asked.
Is she saying that saying Brucie is "like ... Bouncie and JZ" is trash talking?

When I want political insights with gravitas my first thought is 'what do celebrities think'? s/
Sorry Brucie! Millions of Americans have decided they like the direction the President is taking us. It is most like the America they recognize. Not some fever swamp fantasy from some jumped up pop singer. You are insulated from the struggles of millions of Americans as well as common sense and reality.

He has a new album, "Western Stars". I watched part of the interview with King. He's singing country music and wearing a cowboy hat at times. I do not remember this about Bruce, not at all. I remember he's a commie. Perhaps he had to pretend to be an American before he came out and lectured Trump. These people..............

Mr. Springsteen, if you feel this strongly, you should run for office and see how much support you have. Trump did that, marshalled enough support to win the presidency, so he gets to decide.

I think the president and I agree with what it means to be an American. The same with all of the L Dotters. My 97 year old neighbor and I agree with what it means to be an American. I don't believe Mr. Springsteen and I could agree on much of anything including his music. I don't think he would like for me to suggest to him what it means to be a musician.....

Seems like it's mostly white, liberal Democrats (i.e. Hollywood types) who see "a frightening time" in America.
What I sense, they see the liberal control, and containment (many inner-city areas), strategy slipping away.

In the past he's bragged about keeping close to the street (maybe that was before he began buying million dollar horses for his daughter, horses that others discovered and trained to greatness). I don't know, these celebrities all sing the same political tune. They'd be afraid to sing any other tune, the media would quickly destroy them (with its 90% negative coverage of President Trump). Besides the sameness of their PC/SJW message, the other commonality is their ignorance about actuality and the American people.

I'd dare any reporter to ask Bruce: "Because of President Trump's policies, unemployment among black people is the lowest it has ever been. Why do you hate black people?"

I went out for a ride and I never went back
Like a river that don't know where it's flowing
I took a wrong turn and I just kept going
That's the Bruce Springsteen sense of family.
Taking advice or considering his thoughts on anything is an anathema to what it means to be American.

Springsteen was giving his opinion. With his opinion and a buck you can get a hamburger at Mickey D’s. In the real world that’s all Springsteen’s opinion is worth. Why is this even considered news?

Bruce Springsteen, white trash with money. My main memory of him is standing proudly on a balcony in Rome, clad only in his skivvies for the entire world to see his shortcomings. Way to humiliate your first wife too Bruce. At least she had a smart attorney who didn't let you and your nasty mistress try to cheat her. I do wish she would write that book as she threatened you with. She has all her money by now.

So anyone who doesn't embrace a Democrat-supporting celebrity is a trash-talker, is he? That is the inherent assumption in Gayle King's question. You have to wonder if they think before they speak or whether they're simply reading from a script. I'd say the latter.
