A 12-year-old Overland Park girl formed a gun with her fingers, pointed at four of her Westridge Middle School classmates one at a time, and then turned the pretend weapon toward herself. Police hauled her out of school in handcuffs, arrested her and charged the child with a felony for threatening. Shawnee Mission school officials said they could not discuss the case, citing privacy laws, but did say it wasn’t the district that arrested the child. “We don’t do that,” said spokesman David Smith. “That is not our job.” He said the role of the district police is “not to enforce the law but to keep kids and adults safe.”

RUN!!! don't walk to the nearest home school and enroll today. Any parent who sends a child to a facility requiring full time police presence ought to think about the reason the policeman is there. If you come up with any reason other than it's a dangerous place then make an appointment with David Hogg to have your head examined. Obviously the police have their one-size-fits-all solution which is nine times out of ten wrong (However the one time it's the correct answer they might not act).

"We have a zero tolerance policy", said school administrator Myron Ferntush, "meaning zero common sense, zero discernment, zero distinction between an imaginary threat and a real threat, and zero concern about what happens to the child in question."

#3 I admit I have the same regard for the Second Amendment but the Founding Fathers never had weapons like fingers. Imagine the damage if her finger had gone off. Luckily she only involved her index finger. What about if she used her multibarrel hand, clearly a WMD

To me, this is hilarious. My dad had guns. He had a lot of guns. The first thing we were taught as small children was never to touch his guns (we didn't). As we got older, he taught us more about them, especially "all guns are loaded." He would teach us how to check to see that. It became a joke that if we asked, "is it loaded," he would say, "all guns are loaded." And then we would say, "OK, but does this one have ammunition in it??" The point of this that applies to this article, is that he always taught us that we should NEVER point any gun at each other: EXCEPT finger guns ... those were okay. Because, of course, no finger guns are loaded!!!! He didn't even like if we pointed stick guns (you know, sticks that had a branch that pointed downward, so it was sort-of like a gun). This finger gun thing is the height of ridiculousness to me, given his strictness.

Our friend who was not 12 but 50 was shaving on his way to work when a stupid driver made an unsafe move our friend pointed his electric razor at this person as if it were fun. It wasn’t loaded either but he was arrested for terroristic threatening and $30,000 later, a combination of attorney fees and lost wages his record was expunged.

This is insantity! When I started on the Wichita Police department in 1973 black kids about 5 and up routinely made finger guns and "shot" me with them. I just did the same back. How many good folks can we get to gather at the Johnson County courthhouse for a massive protest? I will go if someone will tell me when.

The number of acres burned in California through the beginning of August 2019 is 26 times less than the number of acres burned at the same point in 2018, according to new statistics from Cal Fire. Through August 11 of this year, 23,748 acres of California land not controlled by the federal government had burned. At the same point last year, 618,996 acres had burned. Though to be fair, Scott McLean, a fire captain with Cal Fire, said 2018 was a record year for acreage burned in California at 1.8 million acres burned by wildfires. The fighter pilot study was requested by Air Force Chief of Staff Gen. At the heart of the Air Force study was a question of whether extended exposure in the cockpit to radiation may be linked to increased risk of prostate cancer.

The amendment would overturn Citizens United and mean public financing for all campaigns and Biden also proposes to provide

The one issue Hillary and Chelsea don't appear to agree on entirely is transgender self-identification. However, as Aitkenhead describes it, Hillary looked 'uneasy', and blamed generational gaps for being less accepting. 'Errr. I'm just learning about this,' Hillary responded.

A new report by the Republican-led Senate Intelligence Committee reaffirms what the White House refuses to accept: Russia intervened in the 2016 election to help then-candidate Donald Trump and to hurt his presidential rivals. The findings are alarming for the breadth of Russia’s operation, the Kremlin’s direct involvement and the ongoing threat posed by foreign meddling to American democracy. But perhaps more than anything, the report amounts to a bipartisan rebuke of the White House’s own disinformation campaign to shift the blame away from Russia. The committee, chaired by Sen. All of Washington has been atwitter with the president’s recent decision to draw down American forces from their ongoing mission in Syria. The reason is the purported American abandonment — betrayal, in the eyes of many — of the Syrian Kurds. But the situation is more complicated than that. There has been much conflation of both the American mission in Syria and the disposition of America’s erstwhile Kurdish friends. The fact is, despite being the world’s largest stateless ethnic population, sharing a contiguous landmass that cuts across Turkey, Syria, Iraq, and Iran — roughly a 500,000-square-kilometer area — the Kurds are by no means a monolithic entity.
