Attorney General Bill Bar says increased rates of mental illness and drug abuse can be attributed to the declining influence of religion in the United States. The country's top lawmaker made the claim in an ominous address delivered Friday at the University of Notre Dame's Law School in Indiana. In his speech, the outspoken Republican, 69, also launched a withering attack on 'so-called progressives', accusing them of being actively involved in an 'organized destruction' of Judeo-Christian values.

Notre Dame is not a Jesuit institution. It is run by the Holy Cross order.

Religion tries to tell people how to live. Not because they want to control you. They tell you how to live so you avoid the pitfalls of life. Take away religion and anything goes. People have problems. People's lives have little or no purpose. Is it any surprise people become mentally ill.

After listening to Attorney General Bill Barr’s speech it is clear that he will not be pulling any punches. So you can see why the leftist and liberal Democrats are so scared of Barr’s upcoming criminal investigation into the spying during, surrounding and following the 2016 election, that they are willing to do or say just about anything to get rid of President Trump, Vice-President Pence, and Attorney General Barr, and then install Nancy Pelosi as the next unelected President.

Nice try, but you got it exactly backwards, Bill: a decline in religion, or rather a relationship with Jesus Christ (which is vastly different from merely trying to follow God's laws), drives people to try to fill the void with something else, and that emptiness ofen leads to mental illnesses and drugs.

It is never called Notre Dame University, only University of, or Notre Dame. And, as noted, not a Jesuit university. Otherwise, I am glad his speech was was reported by the Daily Mail. I doubt the MSM would ever cover this kind of heresy.

Leftist scum despise everything dear to a loyal American; life, liberty, faith, our military, our law enforcement officers, our amazing Constitution. They hate them all, yet they have NOTHING to take their places. Their hedonistic "amorality" leaves them diseased, depressed, and suicidal, and ever more hateful of the traditional church-going married couple.

One of the bills, which expands a so-called "red flag" law to allow co-workers, employers and educators to seek gun violence restraining orders against firearms owners they fear are a danger to themselves and others, was vetoed twice by Newsom's predecessor, Jerry Brown. Newsom also signed a companion bill allowing the gun violence restraining orders to last one and five years, although the gun owners could petition to end those restrictions earlier. The bill also allows judges to issue search warrants at the same time as they grant the orders.
