CLOVIS, Calif. — Trevor Meyer had been nominated previously for the homecoming court. As a prince. But what Meyer really longed for was to win homecoming queen. Meyer, who identifies as “gender neutral,” had that wish granted when Clovis East High crowned the slender, 5-foot-10 senior as homecoming queen Friday night during halftime of the Timberwolves’ football game against Clovis High. Meyer’s coronation didn’t seem like much of a shocker based on the other finalists’ reaction and the loud round of cheers at Lamonica Stadium. But in a city and in a school district known for having conservative views, a

So a guy in a dress and heels beats out 3 girls to be 'Queen'. Very unfair for the girls.

I don't understand the moniker of "gender neutral". I assumed that means you don't identify as a male or a female. However, this male is dressing like a female. What is neutral about that?

Look around you and it is crystal clear that progressives are destroyers of economies, government, families, education, entertainment, and culture. Listening to them drone on and on about their beliefs brings nothing but chaos built on a pack of lies. They feed their garbage policies to willing dupes while enriching themselves by any means possible while doing so. It’s all about destruction and making money off of it and they don’t care who or what they destroy.

“...and I really have to pee...”? As much as I see of the, “tolerance,” aspect of this event, and the value of openness of sexuality and sexual identity, I experience some discomfort in trying to process both the contradiction of gender neutrality while frequently wearing high heels and a dress, and desiring a gender-specific honorarium. These students’ votes evidently represent their thinking. Their rationale eludes me. An uncle I never met, slim and blonde, graduated from a Chicago military school in 1943 and as a noncommissioned officer was killed in action in the infantry mop-up after Leyte Gulf. He was nineteen. This is relevant because at a similar age, without being any kind of roughneck, American high school graduates were once expected to shoulder a different kind of responsibility than staking out a claim on gender consciousness. You may draw your own conclusions but these two kinds of responsibilities, while both arguably defined as courage under fire, may differ in quality.

WASHINGTON — Joseph R. Biden Jr.’s presidential campaign was under attack, and he and his advisers were torn over what to do. For more than a week, President Trump had been hurling unfounded accusations about Mr. Biden, his son Hunter and their dealings in Ukraine. Mr. Biden and his advisers debated whether to mount a fierce counterattack or to stick to a set of policy arguments he had been planning to roll out.
