New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo on Thursday said that “leftist” Democrats pressured House Speaker Nancy Pelosi into launching the impeachment inquiry into President Trump, and warned that the inquiry will ultimately go "nowhere." "I think we now go to a very long and unproductive road," he said during a chat on political civility at Seton Hall Law School with former N.J. Gov Chris Christie, according to The New York Daily News. “Speaker Pelosi was dealing with pressure from her caucus and...there is a heightened leftist component to the Democratic Party that she was feeling pressure for,” Cuomo said. “She is a deliberate, responsible person. She is not a knee-jerk person

In the musical My Fair Lady, a Hungarian dialectician named Zoltan Caparthy is eager to expose Eliza Doolittle as an imposter at a royal ball. Describing ;Caparthy's foolish moment of exposure, Prof. Higgins tells his bachelor friend Colonel Pickering, "With a voice too eager and a smile to broad, he announced to the hostess that she was a fraud." Caparthy's mistake was that instead of being a "princess," she was a flower girl. Big mistake because it worked to her advantage. The Democrats have foolishly squandered their last chance to catch Donald Trump by eagerly jumping onto an issue that hurts their own frontrunner, while leaving the rest of us to wonder why in the great scheme of things is supposed to be a winner for them. Biden;s son, after all, was clearly receiving money for the sole reason that his father was the vice president, something both of them knew full well. It seems the President may have stepped in it, but the "it" was a smelly package tied to a rival. With voices too eager and smiles too broad, the Democrats have exposed Hunter Biden as a fraud.

If you are President Trump you want the leftist and liberal Democrats to keep hammering their faux impeachment investigations all the way up to the National Conventions next year, by then there will be a whole bunch of hearsay laden Inspector General complaints that the Democrats will claim to be investigating. The Intelligence Community Inspector General who authorized the regulatory change right before the current Inspector General complaint filed to allow for the first time hearsay laden complaints to be filed, and then stating that the current complaint made in good faith by a partisan opponent of Trump, looks to be involved in a “Deep State” conspiracy against President Trump, as why else would he do those things? The result of all that is that no important Congressional business or legislation will be accomplished, and as Trump runs for re-election he will be pointing that out 24/7. By the time the general election comes around Trump’s supporters are going to be hyped up to a very high level and will be reinforced by untold numbers of disaffected Democrats, including minorities, who will vote for Trump big time.

Senator Lindsey Graham joined CBS's "Face The Nation" host Margaret Brennan to talk about the impeachment inquiry launched into President Trump this week. "This seems to me like a political setup," Graham said about the whistleblower report that led Democrats to launch the inquiry. "It's all hearsay. You can't get a parking ticket conviction based on hearsay. The whistle-blower didn't hear the phone call." "Every American deserves to confront their accuser. So this is a sham, as far as I'm concerned. I want to know who told the whistle-blower about the phone call. I want to know why they changed the rules about whistle-blowers not

Senior White House adviser Stephen Miller said Sunday that President Trump is a whistleblower who is exposing dealings between Ukraine and the Obama administration. Mr. Miller told Fox News that the whistleblower who accused Mr. Trump of pressuring Ukraine to investigate former Vice President Joseph R. Biden is “a deep state operative.” He said the whistleblower, whose complaint led House Democrats to announce a formal impeachment inquiry last week, is part of a group of unelected bureaucrats who have been leaking information about Mr. Trump in an attempt to take him down. “Do you want a democracy in this country or a deep state?” Mr. Miller said.

Two top Biden campaign advisers in a letter addressed the leaders of news and cable networks and some anchors, saying that Giuliani's appearance on news networks is giving the lawyer and his "false, debunked conspiracy theories" undeserved credibility, The Daily Beast first reported. The letter has since been shared on social media.

Conservative radio host Hugh Hewitt had some intriguing comments on Sunday during a Meet the Press discussion about the renewed efforts by House Democrats to impeach President Donald Trump. As the panel discussed the public support for an inquiry of Trump in light of the Ukraine scandal, Hewitt went after House Intelligence Committee chairman Adam Schiff, who spoke to Chuck Todd earlier in the show about whether Rudy Giuliani will be asked to testify before Congress. Hewitt took a negative view on how that discussion went, saying Schiff “went full Alice in Wonderland Queen of Hearts: Verdict first, trial later.”

According to the Washington Post, the State Department has called in 130 officials who had access to Clinton's email inbox. The officials ranged from low-level employees to senior officials who reported directly to Clinton. Former aides were sent letters letting them know that their emails were retroactively deemed "classified" and sharing that information could be deemed a security violation.

I had a great discussion on The Editors Thursday about my view that President Trump did nothing wrong in his July 25 phone call with Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelensky. My view seems to be the minority position, so it makes sense to lay it out as clearly as possible. Much of the confusion around this case stems from the entanglement of two groups specializing in bamboozlement: lawyers and spies. Espionage and the law have specialized argots that hide fabrication and skulduggery. Nonetheless, critical analysis reveals that the call was in bounds and that objections to it reduce to absurdity. My argument relies on an assertion, a distinction,

The fear of radicalism runs deep in our national DNA. So does the love of it. It’s democratic politics as the ultimate on-again/off-again romance. The Founders themselves feared that various centrifugal tendencies — faction, passions, democracy itself — would turn the country away from its republican virtues and hence from its shared purpose and ideals, replacing these with various radical enthusiasms. Our progressive friends who at the moment are in a rage about the limits our Constitution puts on democratic passions are a very good example of why those limits were put in place. Americans have frequently followed a pattern of flirting with radicalism of one kind or another

During an appearance Thursday on CNN, the famed Watergate sleuth reacted to controversy about an intelligence community whistleblower who filed a complaint alleging Trump improperly leveraged military aid to encourage Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to investigate former Vice President Joe Biden and his son, Hunter. Trump attacking the whistleblower's sources as being "close to a spy" and alluding to capital punishment, Bernstein said, provided "real time" evidence of the president's corruption. Additionally, Bernstein said the release of the Trump-Zelensky call transcript and the whistleblower's
