The impeachment events in Washington now gathering momentum are cause for great concern among American patriots, conservatives and Republicans who want their party to survive.
When an important one of their own is attacked, Republican senators, many of them swamp things themselves, and mostly men of much wealth and little political judgment or knowledge of history, simply don’t have the circle-the-wagons, defend-the-power and-the-agenda-above-all, attitude of the Democrats. They can be stampeded and rolled.
Already once in living memory Republican senators participated in the lynching of one of their own, Richard Nixon, whose trivial infractions would not have cost him his presidency had he been a Democrat.

If they fall in line with the democrats to impeach Trump, there will be hell to pay, for those senators!

Sorry #1, I don't think so. After Trump we will go back to the choices given to us, much like the post Reagan swamp creature GHWB, who gave back everything he could.

i really don’t think the republicans want to be in charge, when you get right down to it. Most would be happy with table scraps, a hug from the media and a spot in the DC cocktail circuit.

I think Republicans will NOT vote to impeach. They are not dumb or Blind. They see the numbers every day. VOTERS are with Trump in massive numbers. They are not leaving Trump, ever! Those very same voters will throw OUT each and every single Senator who would think it was a good idea to vote for Impeachment. Anyone who likes his cushy job as a U.S. Senator isn't going to out on that limb! They always put themselves first. Always!

With the evidence of so much corruption, is there not a single democrat that demands clean up on both sides of the isle? It is also very telling that most of the republican complaints, with the exception of the Freedom Caucus, is about the good of the party rather than the good of the Nation.

For so many years the reps have been a stalking horse opposition whose only job is as a steam valve to relieve discontent with the ruling elect, all the while being uniparty members themselves. I don't care what becomes of the rep party, I care about the real people of this country and their well being. A threat for removal from office isn't enough not when they just move into a civilian job and make more money.

Will gutless GOP senators sell out Trump the way their predecessors did Nixon?
Was this Really a Question that Needs Asking? The real question, is who will lead the parade? Romney? McConnell? Paul Ryan at Fox?
The other question should be what is impeachment-heir-apparent-President Mike Pence doing NOW to put the fear of God into any potential traitors

I wrote 2 furious letters to my worthless senators, last night; one of them is the “illustrious” Ben Sasse. It was all I could do to keep the letter moderately civil. Nebraskans will not tolerate backstabbers, and they have proved it again, and again, and again at the ballot box. I don’t know what kind of sickness overtakes these people when they get to Washington, DC, but its main symptom seems to be a complete disconnect from the people who sent them there. I can assure you that if Sasse continues down this road, he will be gone by his next election, and I assured him of that very fact. The names Chuck Hagel and Ben Nelson come to mind.

Dear RINO's:
The page has turned. We the voters are woke. You will pay if you return to business as usual. The populist movement against the establishment is bigger than Trump. He was just smart enough to give it a national voice.

Are there really 19-21 Rep senators that would vote to impeach? Really? And will Manchin - WV and Jones(?) - AL go along with the other Dems? Need 67 votes in the Senate if the impeachment actually makes it out of the House.

Let's keep our eyes on the ball...this whole exercise is NOT about impeachment. It is part of the UNIPARTY offensive to 1) drive PDT from seeking re-election; 2) drive down his poll numbers to allow a White Knight GOPe/Uniparty candidate to displace him from the 2020 ticket; 3) lose the 2020 election to the Dem/Uniparty candidate.
If this Ukraine thing falls through, there are more kitchen sinks to let fly in the Uniparty closet before the primaries begin.

The word gutless says it all. They would want to but will not have the courage. PDT has 94% approval of the base. Nixon was nowhere close.

Get enough traitors and they will guarantee the destruction of this country. These are the enemy within and the sooner we identify them the sooner we can vote them out of office. We are not powerless and we have choices. Choose wisely or lose our country liberty and freedom. Let’s roll.

Nixon resigned because, as he said MY POLITICAL BASE IS ERODING.
The biggest loss of the erosion was thousands of lives.
The US was winning on every front of the Vietnam War.
North Viet was on its way to the peace table, because the North knew it had no other option.
The Watergate Media hounds were and are the primary reason that we lost.
We lost many good men .. and the Media continues to lie to us over and over and over.

The issues in this situation ate sooo different from the ones with Nixon. I am shocked that any conservative would compare the two, much less compare the responses of GOP senators then and now. Back in the 70’s, a case could be made against Nixon. A weak case, but a case nonetheless. The GOP senators then were not just squishy; they were trying to do the right thing. Today, there is NO case against President Trump. Nichts. Nada. Rien. So there is no excuse for any GOP senator to support impeachment. A totally different situation.

If the impeachment vote in the senate was secret, Trump would have been gone long ago. GOPe wants NOTHING more than getting rid of Trump.

Agree about Nixon, but take heart this time around. Trump is a fighter, and Trump supporters will defend this president, and will re-elect him in 2020. Any Republican joining the Democrats will be expelled from the party. By the way, we are thinking of ways to get a lot of Democrats out of Congress as well.

Is this a Yahoo Answers question (that is, one designed to answer itself as politically correct and without consequence)? It is a given that the Republican Senate has betrayed President Trump from day one, along with using him whenever it suits. Of course they will betray him on impeachment if given a decent chance, and some cover. Such is the nature of the swamp beasties.

I know of no one we who voted for Trump in 16 who has changed their mind. And, now will NEVER vote for any Democrat in any level. Beware GOP Rinos, they will never vote for you if you impeach him. Trump followers are NOT going to go down easy on this. This will be a battle.

Richard Nixon may have had some flaws, but he was far smarter than any democrat elected since Nixon was in office.

We're in a whole new era of corrupt and crazy, folks. The hatred of Trump is bizarre and vast. The influence of Soros, Steyer, Tom Donohue and others on elected officials is frightening. The selfishness, weakness and moral vacuity of so-called Republicans, and their total lack of patriotism, is unprecedented. We have a Supreme Court Chief Justice who is likely either blackmailed or bought off.
And remember back in the days of Obamacare, when politicians voted for that monstrosity even when it was clear it would cost them their jobs? These people may be so abundantly bought that they don't care if they're bounced. As Sundance says, "there are trillions at stake." I just went through the list of Republican Senators and checked off nine that I believe would eagerly sell President Trump out at the right price. I don't know enough about many of the others to be able to judge.
Under ordinary conditions I would say there's no way the Dems could bring about impeachment and a conviction over these ridiculous "charges." The President has done nothing wrong. But these are not ordinary conditions.
Please tell me my concerns are totally unfounded.

If the gutless wimpy Republican Senators do sell out President Trump by siding with the Democrats they will individually crash and burn politically as they will never again receive a vote from most Trump supporters.

Which just shows, #18, why Republicans are gutless-- If you feel you are right, you don't need to vote in secret or look around to see which way everyone else is voting--
