Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D., N.Y.) said Wednesday that Miami has only a few years left on this planet. At an NAACP forum, the democratic socialist touted the Green New Deal, her radical climate change plan many have criticized as unrealistic. Economists, investors, and energy industry experts have frequently noted the plan's astronomical costs and the unreliability of renewable energy, but Ocasio-Cortez said her critics are the ones who are "not realistic." "When it comes to climate change, what is not realistic is not responding … with a solution on the scale of the crisis—because what's not realistic is Miami not existing

The author suggests many have called her plan “unrealistic.” I would use the term “delusional.”

Miami will be gone but Martha's will be fine where 0 bought ocean property. Funny how water no longer seeks the lowest level.

Hey Miami Beach property owners: If you want to unload your property prior to the calamity at a bargain price, call me. Do it now, before the rush! Just my way of trying to help; you're welcome.

And where is the downside? No one ever talks about the benefits of changing climate.

Maybe they can get her to promise to leave congress, never to be heard from again, if Miami doesn't go under water in three years! Please, get it in writing!

Sandy, you’re 28 years too late. When you were still in diapers, your eco-loon forebears told us in 1991 that by the year 2000 all of the coastal cities would be under water. Like every other prediction you loons have made, it was a complete fraud.

AOC, you are a representative for a district in NY. Don't worry about Miami. I bet the people in Miami will find a way to get by.

Obama knew this so he avoided buying down there. When Miami sinks, it will be years before the water LEVEL reaches that far north. His genius is on display. Thanks for the warning AOC. WE ARE ALL GOING TO DIE!!! Did Al Gore already prefect this fallacy?

Shouldn't she be building a big strong wall around her district to protect her voters?
She can start a GoFundMe page for her wall of protection.

Tried to visit Miami last winter. Nothing but traffic, Cubans or other S. Americans. I am told that there is water somewhere to the East of it.

What specifically, besides spend money with their favored special interests, do in such a short time?
After all, AOC says we only have 11 years left, right?
She should think of her NY district and let the people who represent Miami worry about Miami.

In the 70's there was going around in Florida a rumor/theory whatever, that there was going to be some kind of seismic occurrence that would plunge the southern half of the state under water.........still waiting. My father once said, when discussing the apocalypse and end times, "the best thing to do when you're making a prediction as to time and dates of these kinds of events is to make sure the prediction is far enough down the road that when it does or doesn't happen you will be safely dead and escape either the credit or the condemnation". I suggest that the Climate Destruction Pimps should be advised to do the same.

Hey, Chica..... get realistic and tell me exactly how many years is "a few years"? Until then, I want to keep going to South Florida every winter.

She's right: "What's not realistic is Miami not existing in a few years." That's not realistic at all. She should investigate the effect of the double negative.

Tell us genius, is the green a tree, slime or algae? It's amazing how she knows everything about everything but can put together a cogent thought!
For you Libs, I'll save you the time looking up 'cogent '.
