Watchdog accuses County Clerk

Less than a year into office, Cook County Clerk Karen Yarbrough faces potential federal court oversight of hiring amid a watchdog’s accusations that she’s “running an illegal patronage employment system.” Veteran anti-patronage attorney Michael Shakman said in a new legal filing that Yarbrough has put the politically connected into jobs that are supposed to be free from such influence, asked her employees for campaign contributions on their private cellphones and transferred certain supervisors to far-flung offices in hopes they’ll quit. Yarbrough, who was under federal court oversight in her previous job as recorder of deeds, called Shakman’s latest allegations “outrageous” and “preposterous.”

It's Chicago, Cook County, Illinois. Of course, you are going to find patronage. "If you can't help your own, who can you help?" That is the way things are done in that city, that county, and this state. (What party controls EVERYTHING in Illinois? It ain't the GOP!)

The shocking thing is that nobody is shocked. This is the way it works, and has worked, and no-one's going to change it because they want a piece, too. Look at all the big Dem city governments... same thing. Look at Washington, DC, worst of the worst, with every new Congressman becoming contaminated immediately or not staying long enough to effect change (without becoming ensnared in the whole nasty tangled web). Patronage. look at judgeships, for another example of corruption. To top it off, they are all on government payrolls, and then government pensions. When you see the word "government money/payroll" go look in the mirror, because it's the taxpayer's hard-earned dollars.

I am shocked.. shocked that demoncrats would stoop to allowing illegal political patronage to go on. Tammany Hall would be shocked. Chicago, New York and San Francisco would be shocked. Detroit, Kansas City. These are all historically demoncrat run cities that are models of virtue and competence, no?

Many years ago, as part of a delegation from his national professional association, my husband visited Capitol Hill offices of House members, including the office of a House member from Texas. The legislator (black) had all black employees in her office, not a single non-black face in sight. The young man charged with welcoming the group was unprofessional in manner and also tried to flirt in an unwelcome and unseemly way with a female member (white) of the visiting delegation. Nothing surprises me about black patronage and the low standards that can result.

Don't even bother looking. So many blacks in federal and state jobs discriminate against white employees. It's not only Affirmative Action but the pensions they receive. My elected person in DC sent out a newsletter and everyone in the photos was black but one token white who must have been lost. Call any state or county office in FL and it's all blacks. If the elected person is spanish, all of the employees are spanish.

JUAREZ, Mexico — A United Nations agency, with funding from the U.S. State Department, is transporting thousands of immigrants from the U.S.-Mexico border back to Central America in a program that has drawn the ire of migrant legal advocates. The advocates question whether migrants fully understand their rights when they accept free plane and bus tickets home. The program was in full swing Tuesday in this border city opposite El Paso, where 63 Honduran migrants boarded two buses chartered by the U.N.’s International Organization for Migration, which has transported more than 2,200 Central American migrants home from Juarez and Tijuana so far this year, a spokesman said.

The September 11, 2001 attacks were the result of an unmitigated intelligence failure. No, 9/11 was not an “inside job,” as many conspiracy theorists believe. Osama bin Laden and his al-Qaeda network were responsible. But, the 9/11 plot did not happen in a vacuum. In reality, America’s elephantine national security state had known of bin Laden and his network years before the horrific events of 9/11. Some of the most powerful people in the national security state routinely downplayed and ignored the threat al-Qaeda posed to the United States before 19 hijackers murdered 2,911 people in New York, Washington, and Pennsylvania.

In the same way President Bill Clinton gave away hundreds of thousands of jobs to Mexico and Vice President Joe Biden helped send millions more to China, the Democrats vying for their party’s 2020 nomination now plan to outsource and destroy yet another American industry. I refer to the so-called “progressive” Democrats’ opposition to the new U.S.-Mexico-Canada trade agreement (USMCA). USMCA replaces the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA), the disastrous quarter-century old trade deal signed by President Clinton and widely loathed for destroying hundreds of thousands of well-paying American jobs.President Trump promised to scrap NAFTA and replace it with a better deal. The USMCA fulfills that promise.

The five congressmen that have resigned are Bill Flores (17th), Will Hurd (23rd), Pete Olson (22nd), Kenny Marchant (24th), and Mike Conaway (11th).
