Nearly 950 Amazon employees who work at its Seattle headquarters and other locations plan to strike on Sept. 20 to convince the company to demonstrate "real climate leadership," they announced Monday morning. "As employees at one of the largest and most powerful companies in the world, our role in facing the climate crisis is to ensure our company is leading on climate, not following," Amazon Employees for Climate Justice wrote in a Medium post. "We have to take responsibility for the impact that our business has on the planet and on people." The employees have three main demands from Amazon.

Validates that company's investment in robot technology. To reduce carbon output, they might say.

Obviously, someone forgot to send out the memo about this "massive" hiring. Not a good time to go on strike. Bueller?

I think the Amazon Alabama location may be on a mission already. They lost two packages of mine in one week.

“Despite pressure from civil rights groups, activist investors and its own employees, Amazon said in May that shareholders at its annual meeting in Seattle voted against a climate-change proposal, angering the employee group.” Shareholders know how to make money and keep it. They’re not woke enough to lose their hard-earned dollars just to make socialistic employee groups happy. The whole business of climate change is just a total sham.

Amazon has done far more damage to the retail sector than it could ever do to the “climate”. The actual climate we should be worried about is the difficult situation of hundreds if not thousands of small and medium retail stores that have lost much of their business to this giant on-line retailer which has created a sea change in shopping.

Politics has no place in the workplace. It disrupts business and creates animosity among workers. Whatever they do on their own time should be kept away.
When an employees forget that they are employees, they can look for trouble!

So they plan to use inaction because they are upset of inaction. Cute...
Wanna bet that Amazon doesn't respond to their inaction over inaction with inaction?

It's a good thing that Americans care about the environment, but it's really sad that, for many, their concern has been hijacked by political ideology. Given the size of America's economy, our carbon footprint is amazingly small compared to, say. all the EU, or Asia. The international Climate Accord that Obama tried to hook us up with had no measurable requirements, and the biggest polluters like China, Russia, India, didn't even had to do anything for decades, while all the time they keep building new coal fired power plants. Obama, and the global elites pushing this hoax upon the world, are relying on the abandonment of common sense by the masses, and the complicit cooperation by the media and the scientific community to pass off bogus data and theories as bona-fide objective truths, when in fact they are anything but. All these poor fools at Amazon in Seattle have no idea of the vast conspiracy they are letting themselves be a willing part of. But it makes them FEEL BETTER ABOUT THEMSELVES. It's all virtue signalling.

Do they all have electric cars or walk to work, no air conditioning at home or work, grow their own food, windmills in their yards, and solar panels covering their homes?

Climate Change remediation activists KNOW it is not a science-driven theory, except in the Michael Mann sense of grants given for open-ended research into a theory that can never be either validated or disproven.
Supporters of this idea do not care about the science of the matter of climate variability; they care about signaling their virtue by advocating a wealth transfer from the corrupt and spiritually disfigured West to the Rest of the World.
Climate Change (neé Global Warming) is a faith (see the late Michael Crichton), delivering to its avatars all the virtue a religious life of faith once conferred.
They know the argument for science is just a white flag, hung out of a craven soul.

hahaha. And immediately after that expedct a huge strike by Amazon members who buy things. Amazon had better figure out which side of the whole dollar they are on. Are they a socvial adventure club or are they a retail organization.

Nine hundred of the "Strikers" will be from Seattle. Everybody else is quite satisfied with production work paying 15 dollars per hour. Amazon should place their Headquarters somewhere it is appreciated.

As employees, your job is on your job description. I doubt that save the world from imagined climate change is on it. If the employees want to save the world loo d, they can personally start at work by giving up air conditioning. They can also walk to work. They should lead by example.

The Climate Change (warmers) better get their ya-yas in while they can because the climate is changing (as it always does), but it won't be what they expected. Russian scientists have predicted a mini ice age similar to the one in the 1600s to the 1800s starting in 2020 that is to last several decades or more. Also, it appears the climate models have ignored or not understood many natural variables that have caused warming earlier in the last century that have wrongly been attributed to human changes to the climate.

Amazon service HAS gotten worse lately. I've received more damaged products in the last three months than all my years of using the service.

Are they also going to hold their breath and stomp their little feet until they get their way? Interesting that they overlook all the forests being cut to make the gazillion Amazon boxes that wind up in landfills.

I smell 'Big Union' interference. They've been going after Amazon for years, trying to generate bad publicity. Fire them all.
