President Trump said Tuesday he fired his national security adviser, John Bolton, because he “disagreed” strongly with his suggestions and so did others. “I asked John for his resignation, which was given to me this morning. I thank John very much for his service. I will be naming a new National Security Advisor next week,” Mr. Trump said on Twitter. ….I asked John for his resignation, which was given to me this morning. I thank John very much for his service. I will be naming a new National Security Advisor next week. This is a developing story and will be updated.

I might suggest that Bolton is right about many of his assessments but without any strategies for combating threats.

I like Bolton but I'd rather we get a second Pompeo, on Trump's page.

Trump (Peace be upon Him) is a wheeler-dealer.
Bolton is a warrior who loves America as much as Donald.
Bolton has a bit of a stiff neck.
This had to happen sooner or later.

When you have two strong-willed men with strong opinions, and one works for the other, and that employee then goes public with his disagreements with his boss, a “resignation” usually ensues.

The media including Fox News has been going nuts nitpicking whether John Bolton was fired or resigned. What’s the difference? As it is the President’s prerogative as to who will be his national security advisor, clearly Trump exercised that prerogative, and Bolton is gone.
Another instance of the media nit picking the process used to remove Bolton, rather than the substantive reasons behind the President’s reasons for making a change in who will be his national security advisor.

I can understand it if John Bolton is upset about the Taliban coming here. I would never believe that a terrorist organization will turn its swords to plowshares. Daesh is an example of cockroaches that just morph into another form somewhere, to keep killing innocents to expand their nest. Regime change will happen in Iran as a consequence of their mullahs setting off the nuclear weapons tripwire in the region.
As far as the DPRK is concerned, Kim Jong-un has never wanted him as a part of any negotiating they would do with President Trump. Bolton's pushing of "the Libya model", which eight years later led to Gaddafi’s death, was a thorn in the side of the ongoing talks.

Bolton is a warrior and a patriot. That having been said, America needs to stop putting out fires all over the world. You can have intervention and targeted airstrikes without having out and out wars.

Bolton is gone. President Trump is moving on. We move on. He is a fine leader. People advise him; they do not control him.
Our president is not a committee.

Could this be a bone thrown to prickly nations we're attempting to negotiate with?

Bolton never accepted that his role was adviser, not decider. People tire of the mustache after 30 days.

I have never liked John Bolton and believed him to be a terrible fit as security adviser. Bolton is only one of many men in Washington who believe they should be president. I don't doubt his patriotism, but I very much doubt his support and loyalty to the president he was supposed to be serving.

Let's face it. It probably isn't easy working for Donald Trump. I wouldn't spend any time in the job interview asking about the pension plan and vacation time after 10 years because chances are you won't be around that long. You'd better be ready to work at the speed of Trump (significantly greater than the speed of sound and approaching the speed of light), get results and in all things, make the boss look good. If you can do that, you're probably going to do very, very well. If not, you'll be gone quickly. And you probably will know that going in.
All being said, most Washington swamp dwellers (right and left) aren't used to that way of doing business.

I used to like Bolton but noticed a pattern a while back. His answer to every problem is another war. We have been at war for some ungodly high percentage of our country's existence. It hasn't worked. We cannot afford to be on a wartime footing and budget all the stinking time. There must be a better answer.

Bolton is a warmonger, Trump wants us to be out already. Afghanistan is a bottomless pit, sucking up the USA's money, but we can't negotiate with the taliban either. What a mess!

Enemies who want to harm America and Americans hate and fear Bolton. That's good a good thing.
Trump's uncharacteristic decision on this one will have its consequences and certainly it's the beginning of an end for Trump's MAGA.

Having the highest regard for both POTUS and the former UN Ambassador, this is sad but seems to have been handled in the proper [honorable] manner.
That said: I pray that President Trump is correct here. So much still at stake. On this 18th anniversary of 9/11 much prayer and clear thought is needed.

Please, Mr. President, whatever Bolton may say in the days ahead, no tweets castigating him as "lazy as hell and dumb as a rock." Try "I am disappointed, of course, but when people are terminated it is human nature to vent. It was the right decision and I intend to move on without further comment."
