Former Rep. Mark Sanford to
challenge Trump in GOP primary

Washington–Former South Carolina Rep. Mark Sanford said Sunday that he will indeed challenge President Trump in the Republican primary. “I have and I plan to announce that back home this week,” Sanford said on “Fox News Sunday.” “But I’m here to tell you now that I’m going to get in.” Sanford, who has been flirting with running for president for weeks, joins former Massachusetts Gov. Bill Weld and former Rep. Joe Walsh on the GOP side of the 2020 race. The news comes as state Republican parties are making it more difficult for challengers to damage Trump.

Comments:

Sanford's now concerned about the federal budget. The Appalachian hiker with his South American mistress ranks up there among the greatest disappointments in fake conservative politics, give or take fellow dud Nikki Haley and the entire Bush clan. Who but Donald Trump has made any traction at all in reversing our national course over the cliff, and this despite the many Sanfords and Romneys and Flakes standing in the way?

Sen. The release of 489 illegal immigrants by law enforcement agencies across North Carolina was detailed in a report by WBTV in Charlotte. The illegals were turned loose during the past 10 months as a result of sanctuary city policies that ignore detainer requests from ICE,

One option that top officials are weighing would cut refugee admissions by half or more, to 10,000 to 15,000 people, but reserve most of those spots for people from a few countries or from groups with special status, such as Iraqis and Afghans who work alongside American troops, diplomats and intelligence operatives abroad.
