AA hires people we have been at war with? To work on our passenger planes, no less. Good grief! I don't think I will ever understand the insanity of many people in our country.

Why is this a surprise? American Airlines is also the one that lets people bring "emotional support horses" onboard. I expect that pretty soon their flight attendants will be telling you what pronoun to use instead of how to buckle a seatbelt.

The most amazing part is that all this work is signed off, so it was certain that he would be caught, and did this idiot not realize that the penalty would be very high? Especially compared to the possibility of earning a few hours of overtime pay? No chance this was going to cause any sort of an actual safety of flight issue, even if they took off, which is extremely unlikely since the pilots would find out the system was inop during initial taxi out. Even if they had taken off, they should see the issue while still in the close vicinity of the airport, where they could get radar vectors from the tower or enroute controllers if they were lost.

As to #8's point, do we actually want people so deranged as to imagine that they must have their "emotional support horse" with them everywhere they go, including on an airliner? And how in hell do they even get to the airport? Does their horse ride in the car with them? "Sorry, madam, we don't let the insane travel on our aircraft" should be the response to the inquiry about bringing your horse with you on the aircraft.

President Trump never revoked former CIA Director John Brennan's security clearance. The president announced in August that Brennan's security clearance was being stripped due to "erratic behavior" that disqualified him from having access to sensitive information. But the White House never followed through with the complicated bureaucratic process of revocation, a source told the New York Times. A CIA spokesperson declined to comment, telling the Washington Examiner the agency does not discuss individual security clearances. The White House did not immediately return a request for comment. The revelation comes after Trump gave Attorney General William Barr "full and complete authority to

For more than a decade, the United States had a problem: three Rwandan men, sitting in jail in Virginia, who had stood accused of brutally murdering tourists in Africa—but now had a chance of winning release onto American streets. The three had been rounded up after a bloody 1999 attack that made headlines across three continents, in which two Americans and six other Western tourists on a gorilla-watching visit to the Ugandan rainforest were killed with machetes and axes. The crime was so horrific that U.S. prosecutors charged the men under terrorism statutes, extracted them from Rwanda and then took

Donald Trump wants people to think he’s a winner. So why does he act like a loser? Winners convey a sense of effortless superiority. They don’t have to work at it. You just know they’re above it all. If someone tries to criticize them, it’s beneath their dignity to worry about it. It’s just a little speck they brush off their shoulder. The Brits are good at that, Boris Johnson especially. We still don’t know how things will turn out there, but I expect his aplomb will carry him through. “There are no disasters,” he once joked. “Only opportunities. And, indeed, opportunities for fresh disasters.”
