Four years after allowing universal

Since 2015, residents of the state of Maine have been allowed to carry a concealed firearm without any special permit, and now the results are in: crime has fallen to the point where the state is now rated the safest in the nation from the threat of crime. The Maine Examiner reports: When Maine passed a “Constitutional Carry” law allowing Maine residents to carry a concealed firearm without any special permit in 2015, opponents of the law forecast a dangerous future for the state. They said the new law would hurt public safety and put Maine kids at risk. One state representative who opposed the bill went so far

As a Texan I have concealed carried for years and my wife always thought it silly. Now when we go to Walmart or any other store she wants me to stay by her side and not wander off. Complete change of heart. Not that I could stop a deranged mass shooter but at least I would have some fight in me. I pray to God I never have to draw my gun but I would rather die fighting to protect my family than fight dying.

I know this sounds like a conspiracy theory, but how soon before we see a mass shooting in Maine, since this statistic can't go unchallenged!

The top three states all have constitutional carry, no permit needed. Vermont does not even issue permits to those who want to carry in other states. I would argue that the culture in these states is what keeps the crime rate low. A relatively homogeneous population, largely rural with no large cities, and a history of helping others in trouble.

Let the record show that the 2 state reps were totally wrong, either by poor analysis of the issue, or they were just spouting the party line. Either way, they don't have what it takes to write laws.

It's also favorable to the statistics that the vast majority of the state's population is not suntanned.

Kansas has had CCW licenses according to a simple, objective standards "shall issue system for 12 years, (IIRC), and recently switched to "if you can legally own it, you can carry it concealed, no government permit required) i.e. Constitutional Carry. Nothing bad has happened, in complete 180 degree disagreement with the predictions of "blood in the streets" and "shoot outs over parking spaces", which, of course, never happened. There are notable instances where a private citizen either stops a violent crime, or in some cases, shoots a violent criminal. All to the good. Read the book, "More Guns, Less Crime" by Prof. John Lott. Very instructional. Congratulations, Maine, on joining the states with Constitutional Carry.

Number 3 is spot on...I have said for a long time, the liberal/leftist/gun controllers probably have a 'stable' of unstable people just waiting to be turned loose on the public when they need to change the direction of the news if it becomes too close to some liberal ideals...maybe they broadcast a 'signal' that triggers a specific shooter in a specific place...I wouldn't put anything past those people...I recall seeing the face of a young lady crying at THREE different shootings...the same face, every time...makes one wonder doesn't it???

Permits for Illegal Migrants

The Department of Homeland Security is discarding a 1994 rule which says officials must provide work permits to asylum seekers within 30 days of their request. The tighter curbs on work permits may reduce the huge flow of low wage foreign migrants into U.S. blue collar jobs. In turn, the reduced inflow will pressure employers to offer Americans higher wages as they compete for the limited pool of U.S. workers Federal law allows illegal immigrants and economic migrants to ask for asylum — and then to ask for work permits once they have waited at least 150 days for an asylum court hearing.

Tens of thousands of Hong Kong residents, some waving American flags, marched to the U.S. Consulate Sunday, urging Congress to quickly pass legislation providing for U.S. responses to Beijing-instigated rights abuses or attempts to erode the territory’s autonomy. “President Trump, please liberate Hong Kong,” read a large blue banner and numerous posters held by demonstrators, some of whom also sang along to “The Star-Spangled Banner,” piped through loudspeakers. “Resist Beijing! During last week’s climate town halls, several Democratic presidential candidates endorsed a carbon tax. It’s an idea Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton shied away from. At Bloomberg Opinion, I argue they had good reasons for keeping their distance. A memo for the Clinton campaign estimated that a carbon tax of $42 per ton on greenhouse-gas emissions would raise annual energy costs by $478 for the average household, and by $268 for the poorest fifth of households. When considering that number, keep in mind another poll finding. In November 2018, the AP-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research ran a survey about climate change that found, in line with other polls, that most Americans

The Trump administration, despite constant criticism at home and overseas, has made the right decision in taking on China. And yet, very few pundits and so-called experts understand Trump’s strategy, the stakes involved and how America will implement it. I can sum up Trump’s China strategy in one word: containment. And considering it brought down Soviet communism for good, Beijing should be shaking in its boots. But let’s step back for a second. This isn’t your father’s version of containment meant to pull back the iron curtain and deliver freedom to hundreds of millions of people. China is clearly not the land of Gorbachev, and it is not a nation that,

As Congress returns from recess, impeachment talk is once again in the air. Speaker Nancy Pelosi doesn’t want a vote on impeachment because she recognizes it is so unpopular outside the deep blue districts where Trump hatred rules that it could unseat many of the swing district Democrats whose 2018 victories handed her the Speaker’s gavel. Nonetheless, House Judiciary Committee Chairman Rep. The move would allow Democrats to speed up their investigations, the Times reported. And it would back up court filings made by Democrats which already state that they are conducting an impeachment inquiry, when no vote has been taken. Rep. Cognitive dissonance about the sexual revolution is also in plain evidence among the right. The best our libertarian and corporate coalition partners have been able to muster in response to mass familial chaos has been the usual slogans such as “maximum freedom,” “the right to privacy,” and “not imposing morality.” Then of course the corporate types

On the American college campus, the constant advance of extremist ideas goes on. Sometimes, those ideas are put into direct action in the form of violence, such as when radicals attack speakers and physically prevent audiences from gathering to hear them. But the more insidious aspect of the advance takes the form of invitations to propagandists in the garb of scholars who defend and encourage violence while attempting to mask their deeply totalitarian motivations in a superficial and mendacious veneer of moral self-righteousness and academic respectability. At the campus where I teach, this week we are seeing an example of this insidious creep toward the left’s open embrace of
