As a Scandinavian, she ought to be most worried about glaciers, an ice age. Throughout earth's history there have been many ice ages, the last one recently (in earth history terms) came to an end as the southerly edge of the glaciers ground and scraped their way northward, a mere 10,000 (or so) years ago.

Maybe the little girl meant Chemosh, the god of the Moabites (anciently near the Dead Sea). Heck, she is only 16. What could she possibly know?

It would be interesting to know the story behind the Greta boat scheme. Who planned all this? Who financed all this? How was the girl chosen? Is money to be made merchandising the story? Will the girl's adventure be made into school teaching material to indoctrinate our youth? Etc. This girl didn't wake up one day, decided to save the world and shazam the yacht appeared.

It is called the art of the "Moral Blackmail". Who would dare attack a child worried about the future world she has to live in! Its on a par with those using "the children" (deliberately placed in harm's way by their parents,guardians and/or kidnappers) to raise "compassion" in support of Illegal emigration into the US.

"I want you to feel the fear I feel every day." This is always the cry of the Left. They use fear as a whip to herd people into doing foolish things. Generally, things done in fear are regretted because, first, the fear is often overstated (check), and second, plans to handle a problem concocted under the shadow of fear are badly considered (double check). In this specific case, the "science" behind Thunberg's fear is getting weaker all the time. For example, rising oceans are not rising any faster than they did hundreds of years ago. Storms are NOT more frequent or severe. Droughts are not being caused by climate variations. While some ice packs are melting, some are growing. There is no mass melt off. Polar bears are NOT dying off. Most of all, our temperature record is incomplete, faulty, and being "adjusted" by Alarmists who are strongly invested in proving warming is happening. The most modern and reliable records are showing NO warming. Raw data (unadjusted) shows no warming. Further, even the faulty science Alarmists have says that even if we do everything they say, it will do almost NO GOOD. Yet, they would have us flock to their non-solution. Climate is always changing. There is little that can be done but adapt and panicking over it is foolish. It is a slow process and whatever its outcome, we will have to deal with it in thoughtful ways. The worst thing about this is that the Alarmists are taking advantage of a young girl with known mental/behavioral problems. It's a variation of the Salem witch trials. From one recounting "a group of young girls in Salem Village, Massachusetts, claimed to be possessed by the devil and accused several local women of witchcraft. As a wave of hysteria spread throughout colonial Massachusetts, a special court convened in Salem to hear the cases". Seem familiar? 19 people were hanged. 1 was pressed to death. 7 died in prison. 27 in total. Fear was the spark for this as well.

The author of this article is just as much of a guppy as those swallowing what the little autistic climate savant is peddling. This is the first I heard that the "little Ice age" was caused by the great die-off of indigenous peoples after the Europeans arrived in the New World when they-the indigenous ones-stopped causing warming (which apparently was a good thing at the time) because they were dead. At least said author advises against drastic measures to mitigate the change that he believes is happening. This is getting confusing.

Greta should be a lot more concerned with the Muslim hoard which has overrun her country. At her age she’s a perfect target for a gang rape. Someone should remind her and all of the ecoloons that not one of their predictions has ever come to fruition. In 1991, they warned that by 2000 all of the world’s coastal cities would be under water. The only change in our coastlines in all that time has been caused by tidal shifting of some sand, but that’s it. The water is no higher than it was 30 years ago.

The Left has never had qualms about using children as political tools. A popular phrase is " They are so young and innocent, and must be believed". or " They are our future, they have the most to lose". Is this ruse succeeds, the push for the 16 yr old vote will ramp up.

Much more is behind this this special needs child. Greta's mother is a famous opera singer in Europe and published a book saying that Greta's eating disorder, autism, Aspergers, mutism, and problems of special needs children in general are caused by same forces harming the climate, that the world isn't sustainable enough. For 3 decades the US political class has diverted billions of US taxpayer dollars to create a $4 billion a day global industry about something that doesn’t exist, ie, a CO2 crisis. Weaponizing children–even special needs children like Greta Thunberg–is peanuts for them.
