On Friday’s “PBS NewsHour,” New York Times columnist David Brooks stated 2020 Democratic presidential candidate former Vice President Joe Biden might “embellish” stories to make them more dramatic, “But he’s not mendacious. He’s not irresponsible.” Brooks began by saying that Biden’s statements shouldn’t be compared to President Trump’s in any way. Brooks added, “Biden may be aging, and maybe that’s an issue. I think it’s a legitimate issue for voters to think about. But he’s not mendacious. He’s not irresponsible. He may embellish a story to improve its dramatic effect. And he may be forgetting things. Our memories are just much more fallible than we think.

So democrats 'embellish', but of course, Republicans lie! Does anyone buy anything Brooks says?

I don’t think Biden is lying. I think he is confused, senile, and his cognitive abilities are significantly diminished. The liberals are doing their best to cover this up but it’s pretty obvious.

David "creased pants" Brooks here assures that he will continue to be invited to upscale progressive cocktail parties in Manhattan penthouses as the token "conservative" on the NYT staff.

When Biden told a group of Black voters in the 2012 campaign that "Republicans are gonna put y'all back in chains!" I knew everything I ever need to know about this mendacious lying plagiarist.

I have a brother like this. He tells the most outlandish stories. I think he's heard other people tell these stories and after a few years he thinks it happened to him. He tells of meeting John Wayne in a tavern in Seattle, He sat next to John Kennedy Jr. at a Super bowl game. He says when he was in Nam, a tiger came and lay down next to him. He tells a dramatic, fantastic story about me that never happened. When I tell him so he looks at me as if I"m lying.

Speaking of memory, I'm having a hard time recalling anything David Brooks came up with that was worthwhile.

Okay, so maybe he's not "mendacious" (I don't agree that he's not), but he certainly is a fabulist. He's also a plagiarist, a buffoon and a grasping, cloying old codger who lusts for the Presidency.

So to keep from saying "lying," Brooks got out the thesaurus and came up with "mendacious." This usage may be correct, but it seems contrived.

I agree with Brooks.
Crazy Joe might launch a nuclear doomsday - - but it would never be out of malice. None of the survivors would conclude that Joe did it because he was mad or mean.

Lying is not new to Biden. He's comfortably dishonest, and he's been a liar for a long long time. Sorry, Brooks, he's prone to lying, and you are too.

For "good" Democrats, lying is simply a tool required to obfuscate what otherwise would be a reality that they just can't deal with. Lie-a-Day Obama is just one example: " You can keep your doctor and your insurance. PERIOD." The liar assumes that his core audience will give him a pass even though they know that the is lying, such is their Stepford-like allegiance to him. There IS however a difference between lying and borderline senility, at which point fewer sycophants are willing to go along for the ride. Biden has demonstrated that he has crossed that line ... America simply cannot risk letting this guy lead anymore.

If you're a subversive demonrat, all lies are embellishments now. Send Brooks back to grade school. He needs to re-learn the proper use of the English language.

There isn't a single one of the Demon-Rat candidates for president that isn't pure evil!!!
Biden is as evil as the rest, but he is too senile to be consistent in his evil!!!
We just need to get Civil War 2 over with, and divide this nation once and for all!!! Then the lie-berals can destroy their half with their evil and hate (since lie-berals destroy everything they touch), and the conservatives can thrive and grow and be great and good and moral!!!

Remember the attacks on Trump for using the term "wire tapping" which implies a specific type of surveillance, physically monitoring a phone line, which was unlikely to have occurred. Yet Trump was right, he and his team were being surveilled. Trump was not mendacious either. Further, he was stating a reality even if the chosen word to describe it might not have been technically accurate.
Now Uncle Joe's flights of fantasy are to be ignored. We don't KNOW if he deliberately lied or not. We do know he lied or at least made things up. There is no core truth in things Joe says.
This is a man who wants to be president. His words have to mean something. It matters.

LBJ embellished the Gulf of Tonkin incident just a little bit too. That led to the death of 55,000 Americans in Vietnam. Who knows what Joe's motormouth will lead to.

Remember how important it was to the press when they said LBJ was lying about the status of the Viet Nam war. It was called out as the great credibility gap! So when can a president make up stories with impunity and when is it lying? If it OK for dramatic effect? Is it OK to promote a political agenda? Is it OK when lives are in danger?
