An Ohio homeowner has shot dead two teenage boys who he says were 'trespassing' on his property on Wednesday night. The homeowner has not been named but is being questioned. He told police that on Wednesday at 9.30pm, he shot the two boys in his 'garage'. He called 911 afterwards. The boys have been identified as 17-year-olds Devon Henderson and Javier Harrison. It remains unclear if they were trying to break into the property, or what their motive for being there was.

The homeowner hopefully has a good explanation of why he felt his life was being threatened. If the two were charging him or otherwise pointing what appeared to be a lethal weapon at him, he should be covered. The homeowner must hire a gun rights lawyer asap to act as his advocate. If it's a white on black issue, the cat calls to throw the book at the homeowner will be coming shortly, anyway.

Bad business to be breaking into somebody's garage at night. Self defense has to have a perceived threat of death or great bodily harm. Frankly, two 17 year olds could pretty certainly cause me, an old guy, great bodily harm with their bare hands and feet....which are the "murder weapons" used in between 15% and 40% of all murders, depending on the year and location.

Be sure to look at the article and see the picture of the house. The windows have boards over them and the house does not look in good shape at all. I wonder if the homeowner was African American.

Does Ohio not have a Castle doctrine? Pretty sure they do. Sad two young men died but they should not have been there. It was late, it was not their property, and the home owner had every right to be scared.

In "bad neighorhoods" where people are poor, broken windows often have to be boarded up, and thieves often return to steal again. Good odds that they have been stealing there before.

The boys were selling a box of chocolates, door to door, for school fundraising at 930pm. Their father advised the boys to go through the garage door to avoid freaking out the homeowners.

The home owner castle rights have recently been modified in Ohio. That is why the Dayton police are taking this one slowly. The kids were in the garage - maybe in a car. Some people are saying that the garage - which was detached - 15 feet from the house was a 'regular' hangout for the kids. Pretty sure it was a black on black crime. Sad but when are we going to teach our kids to not do stupid things?

Wondering if it was an older man living alone and they took advantage of that. Since we don't know if the 'teens' were in school, we can't question why they were in someone's garage on a Wed. at 9:30 PM.

It was a detached garage. He should have stayed in his house and called the cops. There was no reason for him to believe that his life was in danger.

#11, noises in his garage, he goes to investigate and they threaten him. Sorry, IMO, that is perfectly normal behavior. Cowering in the house while calling the police is not required by law.

Last time we checked in on progressive Montgomery County, Maryland, four illegal immigrants had been arrested on rape charges since Democratic politicians imposed new rules in late July that hampered local officials' ability to cooperate with ICE. The federal agency warned that this act of political signaling would put innocent people's well being at risk, an admonition that has been tragically vindicated on numerous occasions since. Two of the aforementioned rape suspects, both in their 20's, had been taken into custody for allegedly repeatedly raping an 11-year-old girl. One of those suspects had been ignoring a final immigration removal notice since 2016,
