Department of Justice Inspector General Michael Horowitz released an 83-page long report Thursday morning. It details misconduct by fired FBI Director James Comey and his handling of memos he wrote to memorialize conversations with President Trump. This report is separate from the highly anticipated IG report about the origins of the Russia investigation and FISA abuse.
"We conclude that the Memos were official FBI records, rather than Comey's personal documents. Accordingly, after his removal as FBI Director, Comey violated applicable policies and his Employment Agreement by failing to either surrender his copies of Memos 2, 4, 6, and 7 to the FBI or seek

Those who know about the law say that Comey could have a strong defense on this. Head of FBI protecting country from possibility of threat via a president’s connection with a foreign country. The “good intentions” defense. That is where it is believed Comey would go with this in court. But Comey has other problems. Remember that he signed off on the first FISA warrant application saying “verified”. That warrant was obtained largely on the basis of the Steele dossier. Comey is not off the hook yet… We didn’t need him characterized as a would be patriot in the leaking matter when there is something much larger coming, with much bigger fish to be caught...

Breaking? With all the explosive impact of a dust mite passing gas. But Comey must be relieved...they could have beaten him severely with a wet noodle.

Haahahah- Same old, same old. Who cares about any of this if Comey is not going to be prosecuted? So what if the IG "excoriated" Comey for mishandling of confidential documents? He could have paraded them while running naked down Wallstreet for all anyone cares! See, the real trick is prosecution for mishandling of documents. Everything else is just so much fluff on the lolly!

Gen. Flynn lost his house defending himself against false charges he was required to plead guilty to.
Comey is a bad boy.
And we're supposed to believe that justice will ever be served? Sorry, after this, the DOJ has absolutely no credibility.

The Dept. of Just-Us strikes again. But they will catch and jail some poor Trump supporter, just to prove how effective they are!

We are forced to spend over a year and millions of dollars for a finding that procedures were broken? Really? Well, gosh darn! Really appreciate the 83 page report, but I am not reading it, having already been told the conclusion is a farce. By the way, I have already forgotten whatever the first Horowitz report was about, and so has everyone else. Then, we are told there are more "violation of procedure" reports coming from Horowitz--but not today, maybe soon, if not delayed. Who cares really?

How long to they think we are going to accept this kind of thing before the American people say, enough. Do we march on Washington, nah, we all have jobs. Do we riot? Nah, we are peace loving and law abiding citizens. Do we contact our Representatives in Congress? Nah, they ignore us. Do we vote in like minded conservatives? Nah, it doesn’t matter one bit once they get to Washington. So what are good, law abiding tax paying citizens supposed to do when it is clear our government is corrupt and has no intention of riding the government of criminals? Don’t give me that old bromide, we’ll get him on something else that is easier to prove. I am not buying it. If they knew this was a big nothing burger as far as prosecution goes, why waste their time and our money?
You bet, I’m frustrated as are many other Americans. We watch as the rich and powerful suffer no consequences for their crimes. Lois Lerner is a perfect example. She’s living large on the pension and bennies provided by the American taxpayer after having committed serious crimes while on the job. No harm, no foul as long as you are democrat. The DOJ and FBI are a disgrace to this country if this stands after all we know about Comey’s involvement in the coup d’etat against our President and Republic. Clearly, politics is king in this country and easily trumps our laws and the Constitution. It is time for AG Barr to rise to the occasion or confirm to we the people what we already know. The Republic is teetering on its last legs. Please, Ralphie, don’t let us down. The fate of the country is in your hands.

Oh please ,spare us the details. Why not admit there is 2 sets of rules in DC, one for the corrupt dems & one for Trump supporting republicans. It took 35 million taxpayers $$ to tell us the dems are teflon coated. DC swamp is beyond corrupt & Barr is just like Sessions..see nothing ..do nothing ...

I am with #13. Name one big shot federal official from the Clinton and later, Obama administration who has ever ever paid fair consequences for purposely lying, obstructing justice, set the IRS on innocent people, etc. Based on watching William Jefferson Clinton and wife for 30 years, what forms the basis to believe anything different will happen “later” when it never has, folks. If Hannity starts up tonight with breaking news that we just need to be patient and keep trusting, I may throw a shoe at the TV.

Comey is gloating on Twitter even though the report found that he violated numerous FBI policies in taking the reports and disclosing them for personal reasons (and gain). The report says his FBI colleagues were shocked at his misconduct. I would think he, with his do-gooder persona he presents, would be apologizing instead of celebrating that he dodged a bullet.

"Scathing" runs off Comey like water off of a duck's back.
Comey should be in prison.

McCabe should feel real good about now. Comey off the hook. Tick. Can't wait for more reports from the IG so we can be infuriated at the injustice. This is why everyone involved is going on with life as if they will never be prosecuted. No indictments. No worries.

There should be one gigantic dumpster - maybe in front of the capitol building - where all those scathing reports and scorching letters and damning declarations - chastising the less-than innocent - could be dumped. Then maybe once a year on May 1 - Law Day - there could be an enormous bonfire, and everyone then could feel better because at least something was done.
