Joe Biden painted a vivid scene for the 400 people packed into a college meeting hall. A four-star general had asked the then-vice president to travel to Kunar province in Afghanistan, a dangerous foray into “godforsaken country” to recognize the remarkable heroism of a Navy captain.
Some told him it was too risky, but Biden said he brushed off their concerns. “We can lose a vice president,” he said. “We can’t lose many more of these kids. Not a joke.”

Whether it is physiological or psychological, it is time to leave the stage while there is even a modicum of dignity to salvage. I have stopped laughing and find his behavior disturbing and rather sad.

A Navy captain is the equivalent of an Army or Air Force full colonel, one step below general or admiral. Those people are not on the front lines.
This story of Biden's tells me a lot about his mental state. He is creating his own reality. And that, in turn, strongly suggests dementia. (Dementia patients create their own reality, and believe it.)
This is truly sad and will only get worse. Old Jo's brain is in a death spiral, and I don't wish that on anyone.

It must have been scary as hell, getting off of an Air Force jet and having to dodge sniper fire. That was Ol' Joe, wasn't it?

“From the beginning of his presidency until the middle of last month, Trump has uttered more than 12,000 false or misleading statements, The Washington Post has found. ”
If the washed up compost is audited and is shown to have printed more than 12,000 falsities, will they liquidate their operation and dedicate the proceeds to helping bezos pay less in taxes?

This guy is straight up delusional. This is not our commander in chief. This is not the face of the USA to the rest of the world. Some Democrat please tell Joe to sit down and shut up. We'll let Fauxcahontas debate president Trump.

The wonderful world of Dumb Joe. His mind is a dangerous neighborhood and he takes as many with him there as he can. As Mister T says...pity the fool.

Idiot Joe, never the sharpest pencil in the box, no longer has any idea what is real and what is his fantasy world. He just makes stuff up from nothing, or he puts together fragments from two or three actual events with some completely fabricated portions and tells us with a straight face, "God's truth...".
So, if he were President, and said, "The Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff just told me that we have incoming missiles from Russia and China, God's truth. And we need to launch all our nuclear weapons at Russia and China." What should people in the chain of command actually DO?
Alzheimer dementia patients are not someone who can be President, entirely disregarding all his nutball political views....which might change tomorrow, and he'll swear nothing changed.
Say goodnight, Joe.

To me the real story here is the WaPo dishing on Biden so that a real communist, like Warren or Sanders, as opposed to Biden, as a 'communist of opportunity,' can have a clear shot at the nomination.

You are close, #11, but I have known a few USN Captains who were in great shape, for their age.
But my nephew, the USMC Captain or his BIL another USMC Captain, were in superb shape, some because they were Marines, some because they were in their late 20s.

Using (erroneously) a Navy (instead of the Army) Captain for his yarn betrays an ignorance about things military that rivals Clinton or 0bama.

The "fact" checkers have no credibility. They gave candidate DJT 3 Pinocchios for saying that The Won's deficit spending equaled that of all previous presidents. The statement was true. They found fault in that the dollar amounts were not adjusted for inflation. Facts vs. Alternate Facts. Both true.

I too have a list of war stories. Some, I know are erroneous, inaccurate. So, I do not tell them. Some things you see, do, say and hear in war are simply wrong- as you remember them. War is a total surreal experience. I have some experiences I remember most vividly- as if they happened this morning. Others are vague and drifting and unreal, as if they happened in a dream. Some experiences are so bizarre as to be outright unreal. Impossible things that actually did happen. I know they happened, because I saw them with my own eyes. But, they are so strange and impossible, I do not tell them at all. Yet, I know they did happen. Other things are personal...friends dying in my arms. Kids - both friendly and enemy - dying in the most unreal ways. War is Hell on this earth. There is no point in making falsehoods of it. Unless, of course, you only want to thrive off of the glory real warriors won. A politician would do that- an unscrupulous one.

Not surprising an old drunk gets everything wrong. What he was talking about was probably something he experienced when he was having a DT.

Beautifully put, #15. It may not be my place to thank you for everything you have seen in service of this country, but I am grateful for everything you did.

Ol' Gropin' Joe really should retire and enjoy what time he has left on this earth with his family and friends.
He is an embarrassment as a candidate in the media spotlight.
I am waiting (not holding my breath, but waiting) for the day when Ol' Joe shows up at an event with his pants on backwards, and the Media tries to spin it into a new fashion trend.

Apparently old Joe Biden, just being Joe, has told essentially the same false war story a number of times, so his fairy tail is not any sort of a “mistake”.

This individual was not qualified to be president 30 years ago and he certainly is not qualified now. Even Obama knows it.
