River Ridge's Eastbank All Stars capped off its historic run in the Little League World Series with a dominant win over Curacao to claim the 2019 championship on Sunday in Williamsport, Pennsylvania. Eastbank knocked in 8 runs on 10 hits to secure the 8-0 shutout win. Pitcher Egan Prather threw a complete game with 6 strikeouts, 2 hits and no runs earned in 6 innings. Just like the team's win in the U.S. Final against Hawaii on Saturday, a strong fifth inning powered Eastbank to victory as the team raked in four runs on four hits and two walks

Comments:

Lost the first game, then won every other game. Prather threw a masterpiece.

You should hear the fireworks popping in my neighborhood. Congratulations guys! I loved the interview afterward when one of the players said he had been dreaming of this since he was a kid. LOL!

I coached Little League teams for years. I am amazed at how good these kids are. If I was lucky I might end up with just one player that approached their level of skill. Not to cast aspersion on the others I got. I loved them all. To see the smile on one of my benchwarmer kids when he managed to bloop a single and drive in winning run made it all worthwhile.

Lousiana won the Little League World Series. How do we know this for a fact since nobody kept score and both teams got a trophy? Let's think of the feelings of the team that was declared the losers. Nobody is a loser...we are all equal.

Sometimes a story comes along that makes you smile and there are few negatives. Congrats to Louisiana's own team on their championship! It makes me smile that youth baseball is growing. Keep it up!

A Phoenix father is facing second degree murder charges for allegedly killing a man who allegedly harassed his young daughter. Police say Melvin Harris, 40, admitted to beating Leon Armstrong, 26, to death after he attempted to break into the teenage girl's stall at a QuikTrip convenience store bathroom. Harris was waiting for his daughter and her two friends in the store’s parking lot when Armstrong approached his car asking for money. Harris gave him change, then Armstrong walked into the convenience store, police said. Soon after, Harris' daughter and her friends came out of the store and said the man had harassed them, according to a police report.

A woman who fell by a collapsed "wet floor" sign at Jack Casino was awarded $3 million this past week by a Hamilton County jury. Lynda Sadowski walked toward the sign, which lay flat on the floor, in September 2016. Customers had knocked it over, and a Jack employee walked around it but failed to pick it up moments before Sadowski tripped over it, according to her attorney Matt Nakajima. Sadowski suffered a broken knee cap and metal hardware was placed in her knee. Her mobility has since worsened and she has arthritis at the fracture site, Nakajima said by email. A second surgery may be necessary.

Gillette ‘Shifting Spotlight from Social

Shaving company Gillette says it is “shifting the spotlight from social issues to local heroes,” after the company’s brief foray into the SJW-style demonization of masculinity drew a massive backlash from customers. The company landed itself in hot water last year when it ran a #MeToo-themed ad borrowing language from far-left anti-male feminists, depicting the abuse of women by men and encouraging male Gilette customers to “shave their toxic masculinity.” Other attempts to demonstrate the company’s “woke” credentials included an ad showing a dad teaching his transitioning female-to-male child how to shave.
Pete Buttigieg: GOP 'poorer as

Presidential candidate Mayor Pete Buttigieg praised late Sen. John McCain Sunday on the first anniversary of his passing, adding Republicans are “poorer as a party” without his presence. “You know, John McCain did a remarkable job of reaching out to people of different persuasions. He was very convincing to independents because he did not appear to be dogmatic and he really prided himself, I think, on openness—especially with the press,” the Indiana Democrat told reporters in New Hampshire, via The Hill. “I have taken a lot of lessons from that, even though my values and ideas are very different than his were,”

The Democrats are clearly losing confidence that their declared presidential candidates can beat President Trump in 2020. They tout polls showing that any of their top four candidates would win the general election were it held now, but only the most naïve take such hypothetical matchups seriously. Moreover, they can see that their leading candidate is so fuddled that he frequently forgets his talking points and even where he is on a given day, while his competitors are so far left of the mainstream that Trump would trounce them. This is why so many on the left have turned their desperate eyes to Michelle Obama.

Cindy McCain said recently that she thought her late husband, Sen. John McCain, would be greatly troubled by the state of American politics. "I think he'd be very disappointed, in fact, I know he would be," McCain told CNN's Brianna Keilar in an interview that aired on "State of the Union" Sunday, the one-year anniversary of the Arizona Republican senator's death. "He would be saddened by the digression that these conversations and these debates have taken, and also saddened that we're so disoriented within the world right now," she added. "As you know, he concentrated on helping the little guy and helping the people that were desperate and

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) continued her verbal assault on the Electoral College, this time smearing the Constitutional system that guarantees big states don’t have undue influence in electing the president as an “electoral affirmative action” scheme for rural Americans. On Friday, Ocasio-Cortez posted the following 5-point missive on Twitter: I see Fox News is big mad about abolishing the electoral college. So let’s talk about it. 1) If the GOP were the “silent majority” they claim, they wouldn’t be so scared of a popular vote. They *know* they aren’t the majority. They rely on establishing minority rule for power.

Sunday on ABC’s “This Week,” former Rep. Joe Walsh said he was mounting a 2020 Republican primary challenge to President Donald Trump. Walsh said, “I’m running because he’s unfit, somebody needs to step up, and there needs to be an alternative. The country is sick of this guy’s tantrum. He’s a child.” He continued, “We’ve got a guy in the White House who is unfit, completely unfit to be president and it stuns me that nobody stepped up, nobody in the Republican party stepped up, because I’ll tell you what George, everybody believes in the Republican party, everybody believes he’s unfit,” He added, “You can’t believe a word he says. Responding to the president’s claims that he would like to see Russia return to the G7 Summit — making it once again the G8 — members of the panel argued that the Kremlin had done little to reassure other nations that it would act in good faith. When I walked into his South Los Angeles barbershop Thursday morning, Lawrence Tolliver had a question. Did I think Donald Trump would be reelected. Yes, I said. His supporters are rabid, no matter what he says or does. We’re looking at a trillion-dollar deficit, and the GOP — the party of fiscal conservatism— just shrugs. Consumer prices are rising because of tariffs and a recession is feared, but Trump’s populist supporters don’t mind. (Snip) The Dems, meanwhile, don’t have a single candidate who’s caught fire. It’s early, and maybe it’ll still happen. But if the nominee is on the left

According to Sanders' campaign website, he aims to reach 100 percent renewable energy for electricity and transportation by no later than 2030 and complete decarbonization by 2050 at latest. He would do this by "expanding the existing federal Power Marketing Administrations to build new solar, wind, and geothermal energy sources." A federal takeover, in other words. Progressives’ ghoulish glee over the death of an old man turned into barely constrained panic when, later that day, it was revealed that their heroine Ruth Bader Ginsberg was just treated for pancreatic cancer yet again. Their disgraceful joy at David Koch’s passing was yet another reminder of the harsh truth that leftists want you dead or enslaved. Koch’s sin was that he disagreed with liberals (though, in important ways, also with conservatives). For that, these cretins danced around like idiots celebrating his succumbing. And they’ll celebrate when you die too. Always believe people who tell you they hate you and want you dead. Oh, and never disarm.
