Bill Kristol Wants Rick Santorum

Bill Kristol took a backhand to President Donald Trump, suggesting that former Republican Pennsylvania Sen. Rick Santorum should primary him and calling the senator “a much better version of President Trump.” Kristol made the comments during a panel discussion on Sunday morning’s “State of the Union” on CNN with guest host Brianna Keilar. Responding to the president’s claims that he would like to see Russia return to the G7 Summit — making it once again the G8 — members of the panel argued that the Kremlin had done little to reassure other nations that it would act in good faith. Santorum, who has defended the president on occasion, was not a fan

Beautiful. The Kristol Sykes big government top down antipopulist Romneybots Rovians and antiTrumpers who despised limited government social conservatives and foisted Bushes and Romney and then another Bush now would like those who voted for Trump, and will do so in perpetuity rather than return to the establishment GOP, that they would support Santorum now when they worked so hard to take him out then. Buchanon, Gingrich, Palin, Santorum, Cain, all understood and articulated the failures of the Washington Republican unresponsiveness. Their voices morphed into the t party and opposed Obama hen the GOP wouldn’t. They didn’t shun American nationalism, social and religious conservatives and those who challenged the Republican leadship bought and paid for by Wall Street. Trump and Trump suppporters were hoping for a conservative statesmen, but instead we got Romney and Jeb and the allure of more of the same. Thanks but no. And one for the horse you rode in on.

One thing is clear. There is NO person in Republican politics that can compare to Trump. His abilities and his personality and his instincts combine to make a him an almost unstoppable force. THAT is why the Left hates him so much; they fear him because he has the abilities that other Republicans lack. That is why he is WINNING. Kristol hates Trump because Trump doesn't need him or his fellow Never Trumpers. Conservative Inc. is always planning how to navigate the swamp. They are simply a different kind of swamp creature than liberals. Trump is trying to TRANSCEND the swamp.

#9 nails it, as always. I vividly remember what the GOPe did to conservative opponents in 2012. The endless establishment-funded opposition research fueled attacks.on Gingrich and Santorum were dishonest and nauseating. Having lost his magazine and that part of his mind that used to fool him into thinking he was conservative, I guess Bill Kristol is now for anything that he thinks might be against Trump. If it's true that "there are no second acts in American lives," it is also true that there are some othet acts that simply refuse to get off stage. They just get old, tired, and crazy. The Department of Homeland Security is discarding a 1994 rule which says officials must provide work permits to asylum seekers within 30 days of their request. The tighter curbs on work permits may reduce the huge flow of low wage foreign migrants into U.S. blue collar jobs. In turn, the reduced inflow will pressure employers to offer Americans higher wages as they compete for the limited pool of U.S. workers Federal law allows illegal immigrants and economic migrants to ask for asylum — and then to ask for work permits once they have waited at least 150 days for an asylum court hearing.

During last week’s climate town halls, several Democratic presidential candidates endorsed a carbon tax. It’s an idea Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton shied away from. At Bloomberg Opinion, I argue they had good reasons for keeping their distance. A memo for the Clinton campaign estimated that a carbon tax of $42 per ton on greenhouse-gas emissions would raise annual energy costs by $478 for the average household, and by $268 for the poorest fifth of households. When considering that number, keep in mind another poll finding. In November 2018, the AP-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research ran a survey about climate change that found, in line with other polls, that most Americans

The Trump administration, despite constant criticism at home and overseas, has made the right decision in taking on China. And yet, very few pundits and so-called experts understand Trump’s strategy, the stakes involved and how America will implement it. I can sum up Trump’s China strategy in one word: containment. And considering it brought down Soviet communism for good, Beijing should be shaking in its boots. But let’s step back for a second. This isn’t your father’s version of containment meant to pull back the iron curtain and deliver freedom to hundreds of millions of people.
