That didn't take long.A former Obama adviser set the stage for a potentially nasty confirmation fight in the Senate next year within an hour of the Supreme Court announcing Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg recently completed three weeks of radiation treatment after doctors found a localized cancerous tumor on her pancreas."If there is a SCOTUS vacancy next year and @senatemajldr carries through on his extraordinary promise to fill it-despite his own previous precedent in blocking Garland-it will tear this country apart," David Axelrod said

The precedent was for the end of a second term president.

Believe the precedent is if there is not an incumbent president, which is what happened with the Garland nomination. Everyone knew Obama was not able to run, and some new president would be elected to fill that position.
I suspect, he knows she's not well, and likely not lasting too much longer.

What are they worried about? She's gonna live for four more years. If she doesn't believe that, then she should retire soon so the country isn't torn apart.

I believe the precedent is that the opposition holds their nose and votes for the president's selection because the people selected him to be president and they must allow him his agenda or is that only when the president is a democrat.

And how would precious David characterize the left's virulent hatred for our President and those of us who elected him? How are their actions not 'tearing the country apart'?

Nonsense. A Republican Senate refused to consent to a Democrat's nominee. Now a Republican Senate will approve a Republican's nominee. Get over it, it's a done deal.

The country is and has b.een torn apart for years and nothing and no one will be able to return it to civility. It will be nearly impossible to confirm another nominee for anything in the coming years if anyone accepts an appointment for anything. Why any conservative would be willing to undergo senate approval would be beyond belief. America is beyond repair for quite a while.

President Trump should wish Justice Ginsburg well and get his nominating list ready if necessarily, and let the leftist and liberal Democrats squabble among themselves over what the man upstairs may or may not decide along with the worldly result.

Justice Breyer is no spring chicken either - just turned 81. Trump could easily end up with 4 or 5 appointments.

When we're thinking about our current social/political feverish environment, remember a couple of things:
1) BO accelerated the "fundamental transformation" of the United States of America (read: revolution/cutting off at the roots); the Dem/Left Party is enraged that POTUS has put the brakes on that mechanism;
2) for the Left (Dems now pretty homogenously Leftwing), the only kind of power they're interested in is absolute. This is the case wherever and whenever there's a communist revolution, invasion, evolution (devolution?). For your own good, they must circumscribe your liberty. This is for the utopia. Pure Communism is their utopia (a figment of their Marxian imagination; never has existed, never can). It's a collective, so individual liberty must not exist. They need absolute power to control the People.
The possibility of a Constitution-oriented Supreme Court majority terrifies the Dems because their grasping for more power and their ability to diminish the Liberty of the People will be thwarted.
We are on the razor's edge.

Yes, true, but only because the Demonrats will NOT agree to act normally and follow the Constitution.
They will try ANY sort of extra-legal means to block another Trump appointment. ANYTHING.

It could tear the county apart, but only if the left decides to take that course of action. Or they could just confirm the nominee without all of the lies, smears, nastiness, rage and theatrics.

Wars start over the silliest things. Imagaine liberals starting a Civil War where thousands upon thousands will die and many more millions harmed over a insignificant elderly past her prime hag. ANd what if Trump nominates another woman? War of the women seems to be a real possibility.

The Dems started it when Ted Kennedy destroyed Robert Bork. It has been downhill ever since. The hysteria surrounding the Kavanaugh nomination shows that the allegations don't have to be true - no one who accused Kavanaugh had any credibility, yet they were given a hearing as if they had DNA, video, and 10 eye-witnesses. The whole thing was sickening.

Tearing the country apart has been the avowed objective of the Democratic party since November 2016, an objective wholly endorsed and furthered by the NY Times, now engaged in the deliberate strategy of rekindling the Civil War.

Go for the jugular President Trump... can it be more divided than it is now... nominate that extremely pro-life woman that Di-Fi could smell the religious doctrine on her - force the court as hard as possible. They are trying to eliminate the constitution - pack this court with originalist and run over the opposition!

Axelrod is lying McConnell made it very clear that because the president and the senate are both republican there is no reason to hold up a nomination next year if it occurs.

In other words, if the left cannot overrule congress and the President and all the state legislatures and votes from the people by legislating via the Supreme Court, they will rip the country apart.

Axelrod and his Jim Jones mentality followers of the demonrat party have been trying to tear this country apart for years with their lies. First up, racial division which is somewhat working but not enough. Second one up is Antifa which the country doesn't agree with. So what's the difference using Ruthie as a pretend catalyst now? They better send Ruthie to Google for a hardware/software tune-up ASAP.

President Trump released long ago a list of potential supreme court justices. No doubt there is a small industry at the moment recruiting past victims of the people mentioned. I wonder if C. Balsy (as Rush calls her) Ford will volunteer to run again.

Even though out of office, they work daily to cause division in the country. Look at al the actions and rhetoric coming from the Squad of Four.
